They were good for years. Quick service, did a good job but a few years ago I had to get my wheel replaced, everything seemed fine until about a year later when I got a flat and I discovered Brachs had used one lug nut of a different size, the tools that came with my spare were useless to remove it. I was completely stranded until a stranger happened to come along and had smaller size lug nuts on his tire and his spare tire iron by total coincidence could remove the incorrect nut. This could have gone so much worse in so many ways. read more

I love these guys. I am driving a POS--a 2002 Saturn with 128K miles on it. It has issues. Last week, I found myself needing to address one of these issues--the fact that the car seemed to want to die whenever it rained or got foggy or humid. Tom explained to me clearly and in great detail EXACTLY what was wrong and what needed to be done to fix it. And he had it done the same day--which is HUGE for me. The only thing that broke my heart is that I had already spent just GROSS amounts of money that I might have been able to avoid if I'd taken it to Tom in the first place. :( read more

I started going to Brach's because my parents used them for years. I try and do car repairs/maintenance myself when time and my skill level allow, but I am hardly a skilled mechanic. I never feel like Brach's screws me over. They're not going to bullcrap you and try and get you to fix things that don't need fixing. Tom and his crew seem to be honest and knowledgable and will always treat your car like it's their own. I've taken my car here three times and so far their work has been top notch and my experience has always been positive. Except spending money, that's never positive. But you know what I mean. I went there because I have to take the emissions test and I had a check engine light on. Brach's charged me and then told me that my car was old and I should just junk it. They did not produce a diagnostic report or give me any proof they had even looked at my car. They also tried to convince me that blue smoke was coming from my exhaust when it wasn't and still isn't. Also, my check engine light went out when I added engine coolant. It is my intention to never, ever go there again. read more

I first used Brach's (c. 1994) after I got tired of being ripped off by the dealership. My dad, a mechanic himself, told me to. I must say that Iam extremely pleased, the only reason I don't give them the full five stars is because they don't take reservations. Most recently, I took my 2003 Honda Element to Honda City for a front end alignment. The Honda mechanic lied to my face, he told me my power steering fluid and my cabin filter needed to be changed. I'd just had it done at Brach's a month earlier. When I wanted to show Honda the CRYSTAL CLEAR power steering fluid they suddenly became too busy. Long story short... Brach's is the best and most honest mechanic's I've ever dealt with. read more
