At that point I sent them away and talked to a friend who is a former master plumber. He told me they were trying to rip me off and referred me to Drain King. After speaking with Chris who was very knowledgable, Drain King sent Jimmy out the next day to look at the situation. He walked around my house to assess the situation and went above and beyond even though it turned out to be an issue with a sewage pump. We weren't sure if it was the responsibility of the city or not but he waited to make sure the city didn't try to push off the blame. It turned out to be my responsibility but thanks to Drain King and Jimmy I now have an understanding of the problem that One Hour Rooter couldn't figure out. In fact they were completely wrong in their assessment of the situation. Do yourself a favor. and skip the rooter companies advertising on price only to tryto upsell you on outrageously expensive and unnecessary solutions. One trip to Menards, three hours and a sore back later finally I gave in and decided to contact a plumber. I called several plumbers including one plumber that was highly referred by friend. I was told by that company they would charge me double-time due to the weekend and suggested I call back Monday. I called back 8:30 am on Monday and they told me they were fully booked for the next two days and they would call me back if they could fit me in. The last place I called was Affordable Sewer and Water for the St. Paul area (I live in Maplewood) the operator was professional and gave me and quote which was aproimately $70 cheaper than all the quotes I received that morning plus they were able to schedule me right away so I set an appointment for that afternoon. My Drain is now free of clogs after the plumber used his 60-foot power snake to clear it out. After all of this I still haven't heard back from the two companies who said they would call back. The plumber was conscious and respectful of my house and put on boot coverings and didn't leave any mess whatsoever. I'm completely satisfied with the service Affordable Sewer and Water has provided, they communicated their fees clearly and efficiently performed the job.
