Located in charming Kerrytown, you can easily bundle farmer's market shopping with strolling through Kerrytown shops, downtown shops, and/or grabbing a tasty meal while you're out too. Saturday mornings through early afternoon year-round, and Wednesdays May-Dec. I will say that this year it seems like Wednesday market is much more sparse in terms of vendors and offerings than it used to be, but still a nice option for a less busy day. Artisan market on Sundays, and occasional events throughout the year as well - like the Christmas market each December (one evening only). Parking can be a little hectic - have to be kind of lucky to get a market lot spot or one of the spots on Detroit St (paid), but there are other street parking options and nearby lots and garages. I used to like going Wednesdays before 8am, because I could always get a spot on Detroit St and it was free before then.

It's part of the experience. Come prepared to walk a bit and you'll be fine. The vendors clearly put in a lot of effort. You can tell there's pride in what they're offering, and the market itself has a good atmosphere. That said, I didn't really find anything I needed or couldn't live without this visit. The items were fine, just not quite what I was hoping for. I do wish the vendors could get a little more bang for their buck, whether that's higher traffic, better layout, or stronger buyer energy. The effort is there, and it deserves to be rewarded. All in all, it's a nice stop, worth checking out, and still a good market even if it wasn't a standout haul for me this time. Four stars.

Gosh, I didn't know what I was missing. This is a true IYKYK! Once you have visited Horrocks, you will return for life. This is a magnificent, rustic, unique, expansive establishment that offers a cornucopia of items. From floral, to meats, cheeses, wine, speciality items, fruits, snacks, vegetables, hard-to-find items and more. There is so much more! Things that stood out even though I loved everything about this place: -the vast selection of canisters of olive oils -the vast array of different varieties of balsamic vinegars (amazing!) -house made items in every area -house made popcorn with so many flavors, so fresh. -the many, many homemade soups: probably around 20 different kinds and delicious. -a ramen bar, what? -bakery -pizzeria -exotic fruits and vegetables and regulars ones too -the wine bar: sip while you shop. -house-made sausages and cheeses -house-made jams, jellies, local honey -extensive variety of spices, herbs, flour and grains - great service, very helpful. Picture a massive Costco sized store, but instead of big brand bulk items, it's local delicious specialty food items. You can find interesting things here. I recommend you set aside two hours to explore. I'm serious. They have a bar that also includes non-alcoholic beverages and the shopping carts include a cup holder. Where to start though? Fruits, vegetables, soup bar, cheese galore, huge candy bar with Michigan fudge... Lots of frozen meats and vegetable packs, a chilled dairy room, fresh sausages. Oh, the COFFEE and the OIL section?! Yes, you can taste the different oil flavors. And you can and will find the coffee that suits any taste. I make a 1.5 hour drive to go here every now and then, and it's always worth it. Bring reusable bags to keep your frozen food cold. And don't step in the plant section unless you want to come home with some flowers or a pretty plant, it's too tempting! I'm not saying anymore. Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market hosts a wide variety of wonderful vendors. It has a number of…read morefarmers who provide fresh chicken and duck eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables, and a beautiful array of flowers. Some farmers specialize in organic vegetables, and there are some who offer vegetables and mushrooms used in Asian cooking. There are a number of bakeries represented, including Cannelle's, which offers fresh banquettes and sweet and savory pastries. Ground Control serves delicious coffee, hot and iced. Try my favorite, the iced vanilla latte. It's to die for. The artisans in the market sell items made out of wood, beads and ceramics. There are lovely wooden bowls and cutting boards, jewelry, pottery and even soaps and perfumes, just to name a few. There is even an artisan who sharpens knives, scissors and other blades. My family has a CSA with the Goetz Farm so we're at the market every week to pick up our box of fresh fruit and vegetables. I can tell you this market is very popular and well attended. It's a great place to grab a cup of coffee and a donut and sit down to enjoy the parade of adults, children, and dogs passing by. During the market season, there are several celebrations. I'm particularly fond of Halloween when kids, adults and dogs come in costume. I've been to a lot of farmers markets in my time, and Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market is still my favorite. Hazen's is one of those special places where you make memories. What to expect: You have to drive down a short dirt road to get to the parking lot. Parking is easy. Someone will hand you as many blue buckets as you would like and let you know which rows are ready for picking. It is very walkable (no hay ride to get to the rows) Fun fact: Did you know that there are different varieties of blueberries? After picking, you return to the main building, they weigh your berries and charge you a very reasonable amount per pound. They sell bakery items, and all things blueberry. They do accept credit cards. Value: This is the perfect place to bring the family or go on a day date. The blueberries are very reasonably priced. It seems like they make most of their money on the bakery items and ice cream, which are hard to resist but also a little pricier. Pro tip: They have picnic tables, so pack a lunch or enjoy some of the items from the bakery. There are restrooms onsite which have running water, which is awesome for a place like this. They also have u-pick raspberries but were not in season when I visited today (7/30/22).

Davison Farmers Market is relatively small given the size of their parking lot. There's an interior…read moreportion (that naturally isn't dog-friendly) and an exterior portion that is dog friendly. Depending on the time of year, the exterior portion of the farmers market may or may not be all that full. The vendors here are pretty unique, some a bit odd, all very friendly though, and seem one-off with not a lot of repetition of goods, which I'm actually not a huge fan of. While it does allow for more variety in the kinds of vendors you can shop at, it doesn't allow for competitive prices. If you're in the area, I would recommend making the extra bit of drive to head to the Flint Farmers Market after checking out the Davison one as well just for more options if you've got the time.

I prefer the Saturday farmer's markets in Farmington and Plymouth. Farmington is one of the best suburban farmer's markets on the west side of town. It is in a commercial area so it's livelier and there is more to do in addition to the farmer's market.

In fairness, I could easily give it more than three stars, but I am largely comparing it to the Meridian Township Farmer's Market, which is more expansive and I prefer. In addition to the vendors, they also have live music, which is nice. If you are a student around Michigan State during the summer, this would also be very easy to get to, as it's in Valley Court Park very near to campus. I definitely enjoy this Farmer's Market and the produce is high quality, but the Meridian Township Farmer's Market is better.
