My mom needed to go to the ER. I had called the paramedics, but they explained that although her situation wasn't considered an "emergency," she still needed to see a doctor. My mom is non-mobile, nonverbal, and has dementia, so finding transportation was extremely difficult. I contacted her insurance, but unfortunately, they did not cover non-emergency transportation. Kaiser provided me with a few nonprofit organizations that assist seniors, but unfortunately, none of them were able to help. I started calling private transportation companies, but because it was a Sunday, no one was available. I was desperately searching for someone who could help us. I was completely overwhelmed, stressed, and honestly, I was about to cry from frustration. Then, thankfully, I found Rami Cohen through a private transportation company. Rami listened to my situation and referred me to Delia at Golden Heart. I called Delia and explained what I needed. Without hesitation, she was already on her way to meet me and my mom. She was truly a Godsend. Delia picked us up, took my mom to the ER, and then came back about 4 hours later to pick us up and take us safely home. My family and I are truly grateful to both Rami and Delia for helping us when we needed it most. Delia was kind, professional, compassionate, and genuinely caring about our situation. She made an extremely stressful day so much easier for me. Golden Heart will forever be my first call when my mom needs transportation. I eventually received a call back from a gentleman named Brian and was able to set up a one-way transportation arrangement from the medical facility to a location in the South Bay for a reasonable price (in my case between $75-$100+). Dont trust your loved one with just any transportation service. Another company that was sent thru insurance had picked up my father for an appt and left him in the wrong appt area and drove off!!! Things like this can happen! With Lifted up Transport, i know my father is safe, secured properly in their vehicle, being treated with the utmost care and all their drivers are amazing!!!!
