She also gave me a fantastic haircut that added body and got rid of all my dye-destroyed hair, while being easy maintenance. She was friendly and got this introvert to chat. Been going here for 10 years now and have always been catered to well. Sam was always a good manager and Mrs. Velma is so great as well the owner (Bryan) or however you spell it is lucky to have her still. I have been a customer for 10 years now and went in today for a cut with Edgar (newer young guy) and it was great. He is passionate about his job and he has been cutting since he was 14 or so. The front desk lady was standoffish and rude. She was also difficult to understand, and lacked strong communication skills. There was a fantastic barber...I think VELMA (tattoos, black hair?) but I am unsure if she works there anymore. The haircut I got was OK, not very high quality. Granted, this place is one of the cheaper barbershops, but the fade I got was not the best. Service was even worse. AVOID!!! read more

Today being Wed. they advertise $12 mens haircuts. Got my cut and price was not the special that is advertised on the outdoor sign above the bldg. The got me for the regular $16.95. Their reasoning was that they were gonna be closed for xmas eve and day. No verbal or posted change anywhere. I'll go back on a Wed. but no tip for next few visits. read more

Great place to get a haircut but staff turnover is becoming more and more frequent. Men's haircuts on Wednesdays were $10 and increased $2 at the start of the year. August 1st there will be another $2 increase. Men's haircuts will be $14. Shop around, there are some great places still offering $10 men haircuts. July 31st will be my last haircut at this place after 8 years. read more

We've been here before and it was ok, but Amy butchered my son's haircut today, 2 days before school starts. I wouldn't recommend premier cuts. I addressed my issue with a hairstylist and instead of fixing it, she told me he has more hair on one side of his head as if I don't know my own sons head whom I've been taking to get haircuts for the last 10 years. The staff could tell I was not happy with the service , but offered no remedy because they are unprofessional here. Don't waste your time or money. Now I'm going to another place to fix this and it'll now cost me double. It's no wonder there were so many available stylists standing around with no work. read more

I came to this place to get my hair cut, and a younger man cut my hair. Once he was finished he reached around and grabbed my boobs, this was absolutely no accident. After bawling my eyes out and vowing to never get my hair cut again, I called and asked to speak with a manager/owner. The lady called me back and did not fire this man or even offer me a refund. DO NOT BRJNG YOUR KIDS HERE this man has no boundaries. I would love to go to court and ruin this place but I don't have the time or money. read more

I have been going to Premier Cuts for about 8 years and have always been happy with the service and cut. I always go to Velma to get my hair cuts...she knows her stuff and how to style hair. Velma is happy to make suggestions when I ask. She is friendly and efficient with years of experience. Sometimes when I go in for a trim it's almost like my hair is all the same length as before just in better condition with a fresh bounce... not sure how she does it but I like it! Stopped in Premier Cuts in San Marcos last week while out running errands and decided to stop in for a hair cut. I didn't have the money to pay my normal salon pricing so thought, what the heck. I went in to the San Marcos location last week to get my eyebrows and lip waxed. I called first to ask if I would need an appointment, but I was told no. But while there a person called and they offered to put them on a list. I was not offered that, which is inconsistent customer service. Once I got there I found three employees just sitting in the customer waiting area talking. I got checked in and two of the ladies went to check the wax. I was told it was to hot to use so I waited about 10 minutes. When I was taken back to get the waxing done I was not asked how I want my eyebrows done. The lady just put wax around my one eyebrow and left it to cool and moved onto the next. I don't understand why every place I've been to here in TX doesn't use paper with the wax but they should. The lady had to pick at the wax to get it off then carefully pealed the wax off. I know much didn't came off. This process was followed by some use of tweezers and more wax. I tried to point out areas that needed more work and the lady did a little more wax then didn't ask again. To end this: I spent $19 just to have to go home looking like nothing changed. I've been busy or else I would have been in to talk to a manager about the lack luster experience. Now I have to find a different place to get the waxing that I need, but I can't afford it. read more

This place is the worst place in the fucking world. I looked all over San Marcos for a decent place and I thought this would be it. The lady who cut my hair didn't know what she was doing. All I asked for was a trim and for her to give me side bangs. First off, I had to explain to her what a fucking side bang is. What I got looks like what a child would do to their own hair. I now have to travel back to houston and get someone to fix this fucking monstrosity that's on my head. But in the mean time I get to walk around looking like a fucking idiot read more

The service was great and extremely fast. My hair was cut by Marisa (?) And she was talkative and friendly. I didn't have to wait long either to get into a chair either. She right away was able to find the details in my hair that are difficult to cut (cowlick e.g.) The end result was phenomenal and although the pricing was steep, it didn't hurt that I got to use a check in coupon after my haircut too! So, I've been to this place a fair number of times in the past 5 years I've lived in San Marcos. I have also never been particular about my haircuts (nor EVER complained), so when I was asked if it mattered who cut my hair, I obviously said no. In the 20 or so years I've been getting a haircut, saying, "#2 around the sides, and trim the top with scissors," has always worked flawlessly. This has never yielded a conflict until I met Diane today. She took one good streak down the middle of my head, and I was committed to a buzz cut. I think she TRIED to apologize, but just insisted on saying, "oh! I thought you wanted the whole thing cut off!" She kept telling me that's what I told her.......and it's not. (After I got home, I examined the job in the mirror, and she left the back of my neck not level, one side is squared away, and the other side is rounded.....I could have done a better job with a straight-razor, and just one hand) Now, I know that stylists are encouraged to engage in small talk with the customer to help them feel comfortable--plus it can't help with tips, but when you keep talking about a game I've never heard of, nor care about, you're likely to make a mistake, or at least frustrate said customer. In this case, livid. Maybe, Diane, a simple apology or, "I'm sorry," would have sufficed, instead of trying to convince me that I told you the wrong thing.... I probably won't come back, but if YOU go, don't have Diane do your hair.......or at least draw a picture if you do. read more

This place gives the best haircuts ever! I usually go to SuperCuts but their prices always seemed ridiculous for a mediocre haircut so I decided to try out this place. My husband is a regular here and gets a nice haircut every time, but I'm here to brag on the kid's cuts! I took our daughter in for her first haircut when she was 18 months old. They have an adorable little airplane chair in the back just for kids, with a TV that plays a movie to distract them. Genius! The staff couldn't have been nicer and did a great job with a wiggly, difficult client. We've been back again for a trim and will continue to take her there for her cuts! I used this place regularly during my time in college. During that time I never had an issue, always going to the same two people. Once I graduated I wanted to stick with the same hairstylist. So about a month ago I called to setup a spot with Ben. When on the phone I named a second stylist I would choose if Ben wasn't working. When I got there I saw Ben and expected him to take me but then I was told I will be going with someone else. I decided to not let this bother me but then again today I was put in this situation. Today I called in advance again because I was in a rush to get to an important meeting. When I get there again I was told someone else would be taking me as he took someone else. I was told the other stylist would be back from lunch soon but after 10 mins I was still waiting. I am not going back anytime soon. read more
