Our private instructor, Issac, was incredibly patient, encouraging, and fun, which made every lesson enjoyable and stress free. We also attended group classes led by Issac, Katie, Amaia, and Sophie, and those classes were very beginner friendly and really helped reinforce what we were learning in our private lessons. Dancing was something we both looked forward to! The environment and community was welcoming and supportive, even during their Friday dance parties, and we never felt judged. When I moved to LA, her class was my favorite of all the ones that I tried. Her class offers all of these things that are nearly impossible to find in one teacher/class: 1. Class is technically challenging, but she offers a variety of levels, so there's a class for everyone. 2. Leigh truly cares about each of her students and is kind and patient, but she also knows exactly when to push. 3. Leigh is an experienced and knowledgable teacher who expertly crafts classes that make sense (i.e., the barre builds on itself and connects to the center). And if you take multiple classes from her, you'll see that her classes build on each other as well! This is an INVALUABLE skill and asset that not all teachers can provide. 4. Leigh's combos are the perfect mix of dancey, technically challenging, beautiful, and FUN. 5. Leigh puts a lot of time and effort into finding a variety of awesome music. She even features special music in her Halloween and holiday classes! 6. If you take Leigh's class on Zoom, it's truly one of the best around. She is INCREDIBLY accommodating when it comes to her Zoom students; she's always checking in to see if there are questions in the "home studios," and offers modifications for EVERY combo for those of us with less space. She also offers encouragement and corrections to her Zoom students (a rare find these days)! 7. Her website is also super clear and easy to navigate and class registration is very smooth! I called a few studios in the La Crescenta area and Ani was the only one who provided classes for Quinceañeras and she did not disappoint. She was professional, friendly, patient, great with kids, and worked around their schedules. My daughter picked her two songs and Ani choreographed a beautiful waltz and a really fun mambo that let all the kids shine and highlighted the Quinceañera. My husband and I decided to work with Richa for our first dance at our wedding reception. She was…read morevery clear and direct in her professional communication and even offered to help us with our mix since I had specific songs I wanted to mesh together. She was really patient while I changed my mind with the songs and ultimately had our wedding DJ do a mix. I asked her to make a dance that would not be difficult but would still have done interesting components rather than simple slow dancing for 3 min. She executed the vision perfectly. Our dance was simple enough for two non dancers to perform and remember and interesting enough for our guests to find it memorable. Richa drove to our home and charged a very reasonable gas fee. She gave us extra time and we were able to learn the dance in one session rather than two! She brought her speaker and wrote out the moves together with the lyrics of the song which was incredibly helpful to memorize the order of the steps. We kept those butcher papers up on our wall for weeks and practiced almost daily. Richa also took a couple videos of us before she left so we could watch our dance for reference over the week. She came back approximately one week later as we had some concerns about dead space for a few counts before our ending pose. Richa was kind and complimented our work, saying she could see a night and day difference due to us practicing over the week. She helped us by adding in a little something to fill the dead counts on the spot and it was perfect. Additionally. Richa was super accomodating to my husband, who requested some help with some general Indian dance moves for his baraat. She made herself available for a zoom class and he told me he used several of the moves during his baraat and it made him feel confident and have fun dancing with his friends! Wedding planning can be so stressful but truly I felt the best and most fun part was working with Richa and dancing with my husband. Neither of us are dancers so it meant the world to pull this off and we will cherish the memory and the video/ photos forever. Thank you Richa for your kindness, patience, and creativity while working with us. If you are searching for a choreographer I could not recommend Richa more highly!
