Took my little to see The Little Mermaid. It was fantastic! Actors , actresses, dancers, singers all fabulous! They truly give it their all! So so good! Costumes, makeup was all amazing! We sat in row C West seats 9&10, isle seats. Great seats, I think you could see anywhere in this theater. Closer to the floor is more interactive for the littles. I would say next time I want to sit in row B North near the doors where the actors come in and out they tend to gather there and little ones would love this. This play/musical was so good it had me thinking about it days later. Park at 222 North Orange and pay $1 with validation. You have to walk up the street a short distance to the theater. A little late on reviewing, but their performance of Jesus Christ Superstar was THE BEST experience I've ever had in any theater. Everyone gave it their all, and you could really feel the passion. Sat in the second row nearest the stage, "best seats", and they were totally worth it, but I think from any spot in the house you'd have a good time. No section was 'ignored', so I wouldn't worry about missing out from any angle. I will definitely be back!! read more

We are back midweek to check out the new haunting thriller The Eaves. The stage play took place upstairs in a room I have never been inside. The performance was packed in a dark room and luckily the air conditioner was on at a comfortable level because it was hot upstairs. We enjoyed the performance and I especially admire the pre-teen girl who was great and remembered all her lines. read more

I used to go here as a kid and then took my kids about 10 years ago to see A Christmas Carol. I'm happy it's still around. It's a fun venue that's close and convenient with parking, etc. The shows are fun to attend and I have enjoyed a few plays/musicals recently with my adult daughter. read more

The Nocturne theatre is located in Glendale. It was my first time here and I was watching the last show for Dracula which was a musical played with elaborate costumes and amazing voices plus a live band. Overall, I had a great time, and since this was my first visit to this theater, I would definitely come back and check out another event here. The inside is interesting the stage in the middle and two opposite that you can also sit at. Kind of a shape like a "u". There is a front bar that is open 45 minutes before the show. I just grabbed a Sprite and my friends had some alcoholic drinks. Overall the show was so fun and parking instructions by the theatre were great! We didn't get lost and parking with validation is only $1.00! Can't wait to check out another play! read more

Came here again as I had a couple years ago when they moved locations to do the haunted soirée It's an active theater that puts on actual plays and shows as well but for this event it was the soirée and the actors and characters are so great and very much in character always So fun they change the theme and even setups and I always have had a great time but I will say it does bum me out that they got rid of the included drinks with the ticket I had the inner circle ticket so I was able to get an extra small shot sized drink inside and they did give a welcome drink but you had to pay for the rest which before you didn't have to But I won't knock that down as that is not what was included in the ticket so I wasn't duped and still enjoyed! Would go back for sure as it is now my 3rd time with this company read more

This was one of the most beautiful theaters I've ever visited. Theater in the LA area often gets a bad reputation, and for the life of me, I can't think of why - especially when the Nocturne is around. They had at least 3 performance spaces PLUS at least two concessions / bar areas. I just saw "The Eaves" last night. It was one of the best plays I've seen in memory. My only complaint is on ME that I WON'T get to see it TWICE - the EXTENSION is ALREADY SOLD OUT. If you have tickets, do your best to remember EVERY MOMENT - for THEY ALL can have more than one meaning. Can't WAIT to get back for their extension of Dracula. BRAVO, NOCTURNE! read more

If you want to do something fun go see a show at The Nocturne Theatre in Glendale (next to Porto's). Tonight, we saw our 4th show there in a little over a year, Jesus Christ Super Star and it was another incredible show! For LA, parking (222 N Orange -garage) is easy and cheap (costing a $1 with validation)! The theatre doesn't have a ton of seats making it intimate in nature and the seats 360-degree circle the stage, basically putting you into the story. The concessions are unique and affordable, the lobby displays are fun. The actors are really, really, good. The singing is outstanding. The sets are small but creative. I believe I read they were taken over in the last few years by new management, so perhaps, I have benefited from that. All I can say, is the 4 shows I've seen have all been super enjoyable and each has had a unique take on their original production. What a cute little theatre! First time visiting to see Shrek the Musical and it was a great time I really enjoyed the circular seating so that basically everyone had a good view the whole show. It's pretty small, fitting maybe around 100 people. It's older but well looked after in my opinion. Costumes were interesting, vocals were on point, and use of space was done well. Really happy I decided to check this production out. My only note, if you're more sensitive to loud noises and sound you may want to bring some headphones or earplugs to reduce that a little. read more

We came here to experience The Jury - an event from Fever that was an immersive courtroom experience. It was sooo fun! There's plenty of parking around the area and fun restaurants too. The outside of the theater reminds me of buildings in nola. It is so cool inside; old fashioned looking but cozy. The staff was very welcoming and there were snacks and drinks (for a fee of course) before the performance. Bathrooms were clean and it was a great experience overall!! I have been twice already because the first show I watched was so great. The Nocturne Theatre is in Glendale, next to Porto's. When you purchase online show tickets, they email you with the QR ticket codes along with parking instructions. This is so helpful so that people can come on time! (But actually, both times I've been here, there were people showing up after the musical started!) I watched Madame Scrooge with Stephanie Hodgdon as Eleanore Scrooge. She was so amazing. I also watched West Side Story, which was more dancing than I expected. I feel like the girl who played Maria was too good compared to everyone else. They sell some snacks and drinks that are themed along with the show. The chairs in the lounge are big and comfy. I like sitting in West side last row (I). Pro tip: buy a 35% gift certificate before you purchase tickets! Recently someone told me they went to Glendale to watch a play about Dracula and I thought, "All the way out there?" Literally 3 weeks later, I'm going to one of those Candleight orchestra performances where the artist they're covering is Bad Bunny and it's in Glendale. Imagine my surprise when I walk up and instead of seeing the Bad Bunny Candlelight performance on the marquee it says Dracula: The Musical! This place is famous! The theater feels and is small but it seats a lot of people. I don't think there's an obstructed view in the house. We watched/listened to the Candlelight Bad Bunny performance and it was great. I liked the idea of Candlelight but after experiencing it I don't think I would go to another one. Reason being, it's such a relaxing environment with the Hygge lighting and then the string quartet and all the candles on the ground, it makes me want to go to sleep. Staff were all knowledgeable and made sure everyone found their seat quickly. We parked on the street at the meter the next street over. It was such a cool theater that we're going back to see Dracula: The Musical! read more

This is my first time at the Nocturn theater in Glendale. I've been in the area before but had never had a reason to go, until now. The Nocturn is located on Orange St., with it's sign on the side of the building. There is a public lot right next to the theater, but don't park there, park in the Orange Street parking structure. The theater validates for 4 hours which is perfect to cover the entire show time and to find a place to eat in the area (there are many). I got there around 1pm and left around 7pm, and the total was $4 with validation...can't beat that for paid parking! The theater itself is on the smaller side. The lobby was nice and open carpeted floors large padded sofas and armchairs. There was also a bar front and center. Upstairs were restrooms. I went to see the production for Little Shop of Horrors with my bf. We waited in line to grab some snacks, we got some gummies themed for the show with flowers and gummy teeth, along with some Zebra popcorn. The stage and seating are so unique and had never experienced a performance set up like this. You have the stage in center with four sections of seating. Online they are color coded by which are good viewing area and some that are not so. And depending on what you're seeing there are certain scenes where some seats are better. That being said, the actors face each section and act across the entire central area. The actors/actresses were fantastic in this rendition of Little Shop of Horrors. I loved how up close they got in certain scenes, and how you could see their facial reactions. The singing was phenomenal from each performer. I can't say enough about everyone who was in this production. I'd definitely come back to see other shows here. Definitely check this theater out! read more

For a small theater, this place screams professional and high end. The decor is just so pretty, I can't help but admire it everytime I go. I will always support Nocturne theater because they always give such a great experience. Nocturne theater is a 360 type of theater so you can sit all around in a circle. Depending on the plays, you might be looking at the stage more or the towers more, so it can be based on luck at times. AC is pretty strong, so bring a light outerwear. The first time I came, prices were pretty cheap, $40 ish, so I was weary, but it was Hunchback, so I really needed to see it. The show blew us away, from the costumes, to the talent, to the effects they did, that we had to subscribe to their newsletter and follow on IG immediately after the show. For example, during the part where Frollo falls off the tower, they only had a one story space to do it. So to show off the effect, they rearranged the props to go sideways so they can pull him across the room to mimic falling off the tower instead. I accidentally screamed because I was so impressed. Then we returned to see Shrek, everyone's singing was so beautiful, I cried. Parking is free ish if you keep your ticket since you can validate it after the show. Bathrooms were fairly decent too, clean and had enough time to use. I wish I could get a flyer from each show to keep as a momento, but it's ok. The productions we get are amazing here. read more

Jesus Christ Superstar fantastic production. Performances amazing. Ive never really been able to afford theater and JCS is my favorite but tickets were always too high, thank you for that. Use the parking structure they tell you to go to and its only 1$. It was 90° today matinee, warm in lobby where they sell drinks, pleasant in seats, if its a hot day def wear lighter clothes and bring a hoodie just in case. I could feel the ac but wasn't strong like movie theater. Every seat was close, its in the round. I want to say theres 3 tiers of pricing and I had mid range 3rd row south perfect, i wanted to be up from the stage. Great vibe, reminded me of New Orleans. I dont know if they have another entrance or place for wheelchair in theatre or if you need a ramp I would call and check. The restrooms were upstairs as well, with rails. In the theatre theres a few steps no railing so if you need it, get tickets right off lobby furthest back on aisle, they are still great seats. Hope that helps. I will go back for sure. read more

Saw Jesus Christ Superstar at the Nocturne today and had to write a review right away. My husband and I are BIG JCS fans, so needless to say our expectations were high. Happy to say that the Nocturne theater performance highly surpassed those expectations. The talented cast was beyond amazing and the play was outstanding! The rock musical also made a strong political statement with many members of the cast representing members of our society who are in scary and precarious positions nowadays,.... immigrants, LGBTQ community, etc. The online program/playbill clarified all the symbolism and explained it very eloquently in the Director's Note. Thank you for making this political statement during such tense times in our country!!! We've seen quite a few plays here and also attended other events they have hosted. We've enjoyed every visit to the Nocturne! The drive to Glendale can be long and exhausting, but the quality and unique performances offered at the Nocturne make the drive worth it. This is an amazing little theater. The actors are so talented. I provide caption services and am a patron at theaters like the Pantages, and you're getting the same quality for a better price. It's a round-style stage, so every seat is a winner. There's plenty of parking in the area, and you're near some great food joints. They also sell snacks and drinks inside. Pricing is great as well! You can get front row seats for a quarter of what you'd pay at a larger venue. I've seen Hunchback of Notre Dame (made me ugly-cry), Westside Story (incredible!), and Little Shop of Horrors (great change). read more

It was so loud that I couldn't hear any of the lyrics of the songs and it gave me a massive headache and ear pain. This was louder than concerts I've been to. They had a cute little bar with drink and food options. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the theatre itself is small but spacious enough with a 360 view. The performance was captivating from start to finish, the cast brought so much energy and emotion to the stage. The theater itself was beautiful and comfortable, making it an ideal place to enjoy live performance. The costumes were stunning, rich in detail and perfectly suited to the gothic atmosphere. The music was powerful and performed beautifully with every song drawing you deeper into the story. I highly recommend the show and theater, a must see experience! Went to watch Dracula the musical and it was fantastic. The music and casts were wonderful. However, this place was old and quite inaccessible. Parking was really difficult to find and the entrance of the theater was inaccessible. There was no signage that guides to accessible entrance. I ended up going up the stairs with help and someone had to carry up my walker. Then I was told I had to have someone check me in at the entrance and then have an usher meet me in the back to get in. I had to had to go back downstairs and around the building to enter from the back of the building. Because the way the theater was set up, I did not have access to see the lobby w/ decorations or concession stand since there were only stairs with limited handrails and no ramp. Restroom was located upstairs, which is also impossible to reach. However, the staff were really courteous and provided backstage restroom for me to use. However, the entrance of the restroom had things blocking and the restroom itself was very small and the toilet+handrail were very low. This restroom would also be nearly impossible for someone in power chair or wheelchair to access. read more

Very cute, intimate theater. I'm appreciative the ticket prices are reasonable, and the show fantastic. I saw Dracula (musical), which is a must see if it comes back, but it won't make sense if you haven't seen the movie. (The Renfield actor was spectacular!) I plan to see more shows there for sure. The theater is literally right next to Damon's, and they have a coupon you can use for dinner there. Parking is plentiful in a lot across the street, which there are clear instructions in the email. The reception area is small, with a bar and snacks in the center and doors on either side to go inside the theater. The theater itself is round, with 4 sections of seating. It is well laid out, and it doesn't look like there is a bad seat. read more

On September 20th, we attended the Sleeping Beauty ballet lighting show. We really enjoyed it--the production was wonderful, the dancers were so well-coordinated, and we especially enjoyed the soloists, Aurora, and her partner. I have a new found love for live performances. They're so raw, real, unedited and uncut. I have such a deep appreciation all the work and talent to bring it all to life and seamlessly. Lucky for me, after moving to SoCal, live shows, events and theaters are abundant. My friends and I are all major fans of Disney so as soon as we saw The Nocturne Theater's production of Beauty and The Beast, we bought early bird tickets (which are discounted by the way). We were glad we jumped on it though, they sold out multiple weekends! The show was amazing, the casting, costuming and the flow of the program was immaculate. My favorite characters were Belle played by Alyssa Rafael and Lumiere played by Rachel Franke. Belle sang beautifully and Lumiere's humor had the crowd laughing the entire time. They could not have done a more perfect performance. I definitely will look for more of their shows to attend. I'd definitely say, The Nocturne Theater is one of my favorites thus far. The lobby is small but decorated beautifully. There's an outside lobby area as well, we made use of this during intermission for some sunshine and stretching. Checking in and purchasing refreshments were a breeze! The seats are quite comfortable and every seat is a good seat. It is small and personable with the stage being center, I like this layout more than a front stage because it is more intimate and allows for more seats to be close. No matter where you sit, visibility is great. There are many methods of parking- lots, structures and metered street parking. We were lucky enough to find a metered street parking spot near the theater and since it was Sunday exempt, no payment was required! My gals and I enjoyed The Nocturne Theater so much, were already looking at the next productions: Caberet and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I 100% will make sure to become a regular here. read more

An amazing local theater in Glendale that blew me away. Everything from operations for before, the actual show, parking, and more just made my first experience here so wonderful. I went to see Madame Scrooge on opening night and was absolutely enthralled. It's amphitheater style and no seat was bad. The actors made great use of space. Costumes and production looked amazing and the caliber of talent was out of this world. I was so thoroughly impressed. There's a bar outside that sells drinks and snacks at a very good price. The whole theater on first and second floor was decorated fully and really was a nice extension to the play. At the end of the show while we were walking out, they even had a snow machine blowing to give that white Christmas touch. Truly spectacular. If you park in the lot next door, they have a scanner to the right of the main doors so you get $1 parking valid for 4 hours. read more

I work close to the Nocturne Theatre and looked at their giant poster on the side of the building which is what caught my attention to visit their website. The outside of the building looks olden compared to other buildings in the area. It is giving New Orleans in the French Quarters which the catalyst for being sucked into another era of time. The theater room is like a Roman coliseum on a smaller scale so no seat in the house is a bad seat. The entrance to the front lobby has a little speakeasy type of bar dead center. The actors to the crew do their best and it shows the countless hours these people have done. The acting to the musicality of the play. 10/10 would recommend checking out their next production. Loved how you can hear the each actor clearly and see every interactive piece that makes this play so alive. The bar area was interesting as there was not really a rope to distinguish the two different lines for drinks and snacks. You can tell that these bartenders were trying to engage in conversation with all guest which made the lines move rather slow. SO if you do want to grab a drink before the show I would suggest getting to the theater 30 mins prior to curtains because it can take a minute. Won't knock them for it because the purpose of going was from the play not the drinks. read more

Been here for a couple Fever events and I love it! It is an older theater, so things are a bit worn but it's charming and intimate so wherever you sit, you have a great view. Location, parking and proximity to restaurants make this theater a convenient spot. The theater validates/discounts I think 4 hours at a parking structure half a block down at 222 N Orange St. There's a lot next door to the theater with no validation. read more
