The best thing this office did was give me a referral for another office! It would be one thing if this place had just unfriendly receptionists, but they are also incompetent! I was originally scheduled to have my wisdom teeth pulled a few months ago.. when I got to the office they made me wait 40 minutes to see the surgeon. Once I got in the room, the surgeon says "did you want to have your wisdom teeth pulled today".. obviously.. so they run my blood pressure and get me in the chair. Then the surgeon comes back in and says.. our 3D x ray machine has been broken for a few weeks now.. I can still pull them, but there is a small percent chance I'll hit a nerve and you'll be permanently numb. You can either sign this waiver or reschedule. Why not call and tell me before I drove 30 minutes to Hilo?! No way I'm gonna risk that.. So as I'm leaving to get rescheduled which is 2 months out, the receptionist says "that'll be $50". For what?! "To see the surgeon".... ??? If anything yall should be paying me for my time I missed at work, and not giving me a heads up! So fast forward to today when I'm supposed to get them out (2nd try) unfortunately there was a crash on saddle and the surgeon got stuck in the traffic, so she's not gonna be able to make it today. Update, got a referral for Big Island Oral Surgery and they took care of me within a week! read more

I scheduled my family of 4 appointment back in January for this month June. We had to wait 6 months which is insane but I digress. I began getting reminder texts but they were only for myself and my 2 children. I thought this was because my significant other has a different insurance. I called in to find out why our dates were different. I was informed that this office doesnt put whole families on in one day and that I should have been told that when I scheduled. I was not. This was ok thought, simply because I have time all this week. The issue that still wasn't resolved was that my significant other did not get out on the schedule. They then told me that he was not in the system at all. No information at all. I asked if they could squeeze him in. They said no. I told them that we needed accomodation because we have been waiting for 6 months. They still said no. I asked if I could give him my spot and they said that's the only thing that could be done and I could reschedule myself for AN ADDITIONAL 6 months out. She kept shifting the blame to me and I was becoming angry and all she kept telling me was that she was the office manager and that they have no openings this week but she could put me on the call list. She wanted to know if myself or my significant other would be taking the scheduled appointment and I told her I didn't know which would be there because we are all supposed to be there. Without any type of assistance she said "we need to know 48 hours in advance". If this is the way they treat next customers, I'm already dreading what their dentists will be like! read more

The worst staff EVER!!! Do not waste your time, they over charge for just the office visit. They were rude when I made the appt. And they couldn't be bothered when I arrived, refused to give me my X-rays!!!! I have lived here 37 yrs and this is the worst experience I've ever encountered! My gut feeling was so right on when I originally called to make the appt. They were so rude, I'm sorry I didn't trust my gut. These front desk people should leave their jobs or be fired if that so unhappy. Everyone of us who pay big money for dental should be greeted with respect. I pay good money for Hmsa fed with dental Then to be treated like I'm unemployed an moneyless is a disgrace. I will be filing a complaint!! They charged me over $900.00 after insurance for a deep cleaning on two teeth and two very small cavities after 15 yrs of excellent dental exams from retired dentist!!!!! read more

I absolutely love Dr. Johnson and her dental assistant (I think her name is Shay). I can't speak about what other services she does, but I can tell you she does a fantastic job with fillings and cleanings! Her numbing technique is spot on, she does a thorough job with dental cleanings, and she's very detail oriented when building fillings. Shay is also great because she doesn't stab the water or suction wands down your throat and always makes sure you're not drowning in/gagging on stuff. Both women are great at what they do and make a good team! They also make good conversation lol. I've never had a more enjoyable dentist... ever. Highly recommend. Especially if you have some dental anxiety like myself. I used to absolutely dread going to the dentist due to poor past experiences, but I feel comfortable sitting in Dr. Johnson's chair because I know I'm in good, kind hands. read more

Absolutely the worst. They call us almost every time the day before or even the day of our appointment and try to change the time AND OR the date. On their website it shows there were exactly 100 reviews and every single one was 5 stars...impossible. The practice is much too large-too many patients at one time in the time of a pandemic. I will be looking for a dentist with a much smaller practice. No complaints with quality of care-just feel more like a number rather than a patient. read more

Great dental clinic! They were able to take me in as a new patient and schedule me an early appointment. Everyone wore a mask and the seats were socially distant. They provided hand sanitizer. The dentist who worked on me was amazing and professional. The administration was very kind and professional too. However, there was a bit of a concern when the dental assistant who worked on me didn't really know how to insert an electronic bite X-ray into a small narrow mouth. I told her my mouth is narrow. She blamed my tongue not being relaxed but I know what was really happening since I am a dental assistant myself. I kinda helped by not biting all the way down since it didn't angle right the first few times she asked me to. Then she took the X-Ray while being exposed to the radiation. I felt that the dental assistant blaming a patient for their own mistake is something I'd never do personally and not looking after her own safety is not a good habit. Besides that I think this is a lovely dental clinic! If your visiting family or just visiting for an emergency it's a great choice. read more
