I first used Premier Dermatology services a couple years ago for a mole/beauty mark I've had ever since I can remember that had changed in color and texture, and I was concerned about malignant growth from that. I wanted to make sure to detect any potential cancer early. I came in and the PA that saw me (this was a few years ago, so I don't remember who!) listened to my concerns and advised me on the different things I could do. I have also come in for concerns regarding irritated piercings and most recently for my yearly skin cancer screening. Dr. Zahir was the provider for my piercing concern as well as for my annual skin cancer screening. He listened to my concerns, answered my questions and gave me recommendations on how to approach my irritated piercing, and I was really happy with the service. He provided thorough screening for my annual skin cancer screening and also answered a lot of my questions with great detail. I really appreciated the thorough service because I have seen a couple dermatologists previously when I was traveling, and I felt they were not nearly as thorough as he was. I spend a lot of time outdoors and under the sun, so it's really imperative that the provider is very thorough in case there are questionable changes or growths! Prevention and early detection are key! They have 3 offices in the area: Ashburn, Purcellville and Winchester. I believe the providers rotate their time in a couple, or all 3, of the offices, so you may be able to see them in the different locations. They also used to not have providers available for Wednesday in the Ashburn location, but they have recently opened up a couple hours and I was able to visit during a day off on a Wednesday, very convenient! Overall, I'm very much satisfied with the services I've received and will continue to come back for future concerns or preventatives. read more

The diagnoses have been accurate, and I have been helped with a couple different issues. They are reasonably fast with seeing patients and I've never had any billing issues. read more

Dr Usman is an amazing and fantastic dermatologist ! He is very knowledgeable and has an excellent chair side manner. I visited him for a possible skin cancer on my nose. I felt completely comfortable and his conversational demeanor made me feel like I was talking to an old friend. During the biopsy procedure,we chatted about my gardening interests and how my strawberries and tomatoes were doing. I was so comfortable I just about forgot I was having a procedure done. Soon after the appointment I received a follow up call from Dr Usman explaining the biopsy results. Likewise, his administrative assistant Chase emailed me the biopsy report and helped me to schedule the next step. In a world where customer service is often automated or indifferent, this office's professionalism and empathy were a breath of fresh air. Five stars, without hesitation . I have been with this practice for 2-3 years now. I have always thought their front office service sucks and now they made it worse by someone answering the call in probably Philipines. She just told me she is working remote. My concern is not about the location where she works from- but their answers to the problem was awful. I went to the office, on Tuesday and call back the next Monday for the status of the prescription and the lady from the remote location tells me, oh the doctor forgot to send the prescription!!! I reminded, her the shot that doctor gave me at the office was not working and I had an awful flare up over the weekend, she said, oh don't worry - you will be fine!!! I was appalled by the response. I followed this back and the next time she said call CVS pharmacy in 15 mins - you will have your prescription and it has been 2 hrs and I still don't have the prescription for my medication, nor the doctor has called, nor do I have a relief for my flareup. There is absolutely no care for the patients and there is no empathy whatsover. The drug they prescribe will take atleast 2-3 weeks for me to get it. It is a process on its own and they are so casual about patient care. Most terrible service ever. If you are new patient, you have to find tricks and tips to go past their darn front office!! PS: No apology whatsoever!! I have been on hold for 45 mins and then she comes back to let me know, I do not know what happened to your prescription - Wonder what kind of an answer this is and when I asked for some medication again for the flare up - they said, use some topical cream you have!!! read more

I made an appointment at the Ashburn location. The office was hard to find and the doctor's name was not among the names on the door. I arrived early and there was a long line at the single receptionist. I waited for twenty minutes in the hall because of the crowd and noise. Then I reentered the office and waited some more. The receptionist criticized me for not coming earlier and said I was wrong when I said I arrived early. This unusual treatment escalated and I finally walked out. Avoid these people! read more

Great experience at PD. Consultation and minor surgery both were positive. Dr. Usman was personable and took his time to explain things. His assistants Krissa and Logan were outgoing and made me feel comfortable. Chase is welcoming and on his game as well. Definitely recommend the Purcellville location. read more

I had a very sore spot on tmy left shin. They couldn't examine it because it was too painful. The doctors immediately decided to take it off and had the surgeon come in that was already booked and took it out. It turned out to be squamous cell carcinoma. They got it all and nothing has reoccurred since. They were quick and efficient. I highly recommend Dr. Usman. read more

I scheduled two appointments here under the recommendation of my best friend to get a second opinion for me and assist with my teenagers skin concerns. This place is the absolute worse. We both saw E. Lejman, which was the first issue. When I made the appointment months ago, I specifically requested Dr. Usman (since he was the one my best friend recommended) and was told they don't know why I didn't get to see him the day of my appointment. That's it. No apology, just a shrug and "no big deal" attitude. When Dr. Lejman saw my daughter (if you can even call it that), she glanced over her acne, took a couple seconds to look through her scope, and just prescribed prescriptions (I'll get back to this later). Then, she left, and came back to me about 7 minutes later. I was originally diagnosed with an incurable condition that is just aesthetic...however, I wanted a second opinion (the reason why I was there). She sent in her nurse to question why I was there and what my previous diagnosis was. I informed the nurse I didn't want to disclose this information, since I wanted to get a bias-free diagnosis from the doctor. Lejman came in shortly after and again, glanced quickly through her scope and told me it was something different...now, I'm confused since I am hearing a different diagnosis. I ask her how I can get rid of the marks and she shrugs and says, "you can do laser." The amount of time she spent for both my daughter and I, not including our wait time, was about 5 minutes (if that)! It took us 30 minutes to commute there. Now, back to the prescription. It was supposed to be called into a prescription company, since it was cheaper (we were told). Well, never heard from them after a week, so called the office, only to be put on hold for over 20 minutes. Called back, got hung up on, called again, and finally got someone to talk to me. She ensured me someone from the pharmaceutical company would contact me within 2 days. Still no call. We gave up on getting the medicine. Needles to say, I would never this recommend this practice to anyone. Stay away!! read more

My family has worked with a few of the providers and have had only good experiences. That being said, PA Sarah Cabrisses is our absolute favorite! Super knowledgable and makes you feel as if you are her only patient :) The entire office staff is wonderful as well. But the real diamond is Chase at the front desk! He helped us battle some pia insurance & medication issues all the while making me feel like he was going to battle for me - with a big smile on his face! Of course a great doctor is a must but we all know how difficult it can be to work with an unpleasant/unhelpful office. The ladies at the front aren't really the epitome of warm and fuzzy, but the nurse and Dr. Usman were nice enough. Unfortunately, the whole place was packed to the brim and I felt that everyone was rushing people in and out. He spent probably under 2 minutes with me, disregarded my rashes as bug bites, prescribed me an itch cream, and raced out before I even stood up. Turns out they're hives and I have a urticaria. Beware of their billing practices. I was quoted an amount before the service, paid upon arrival for the amount, then got billed for additional money that they could not explain what it was exactly for when I called. Rather than dealing with run around, I ended up paying to get them off my back. meh... while not having gone to a dermatologist before, I have been to a doctor; general, eye, dentist, etc... I have experienced better customer interaction. Upon checking I was not greeted. I was asked for my driver's license and insurance card - no 'please' or 'thank you' included. Pros... extremely prompt. In fact the doctor popped into the room prior to me being ready. That's a wonderful thing. However, and it's a BIG However, when the doctor came back in for my checkup, I felt as though one foot was out the door. She spoke extremely fast. The entire exam took less than five minutes. Did I time it? No, but trust it was very fast. Thorough? that I can't answer, but when I did have a question, she repeated her view and did not expand except to say 'not to worry about' Would I go back? Most likely not read more

I took my son there last year for a skin condition. I recently made an appointment. When I showed up I was asked for an updated insurance card though my insurance information hasnt changed in years. The card I had was from last year. The receptionist asked for an updated card and I said I dont have the latest card on me. She said is there any way you can have someone fax over the new card to which I said, "My wife is not home right now, you can call the insurance company and verify the information." Her response, "I dont have the bandwidth, why dont you call the insurance company and have them send us a verification otherwise you will be waiting for a very long time to see the doctor." I felt she didnt want to do her job. I asked her to cancel the appointment and we walked out. This was a simple issue that could have been resolved easily by applying basic customer service principles and a bit more finesse. There are at least a dozen options for dermatology in Ashburn area, the doctors at this facility may be qualified but if the first contact with the customer is awful, everything else is meaningless. Will not be returning to them or recommending any friends or family members (majority of which lives in the area). read more

I was very disappointed with Dr Usman. I went in as an emergency visit for a flare up which he was nice enough to stay back after hours and see me. He listened to what I had to say, he looked at what I was using on my skin and he inspected my skin thoroughly. However, he was unable to give me any constructive advice on how to tame my flare up. I also asked him about some other medications that were steroid free and he hadn't heard of them. Dr Usman was pleasant but I feel he couldn't help me or didn't know what to do. He offered to prescribe more steroids, orally and topically. He did not tell me what would be best to use on my type of skin in terms of daily skincare. I left with no prescriptions and a whole bunch of samples to try. And most of all, I left not knowing what else to do for my skin to make it better. Instead, I went to another doctor in the area who looked at everything I was using on my skin and put me on another regiment that has made my skin 1000% better. This doctor was confident and knew exactly what type of skin I have and knew exactly what I should do. He also told me what to use on my type of skin daily to keep from flaring up. I feel like Dr Usman is just an average dermatologist who was limited in his knowledge and capabilities. read more

I've only been seeing Dr. usman a for a year, but between my son, my husband and myself we've seen the dr quite a few times. The office is staffed with incredibly sweet and helpful people and the dr has been patient with us and doesn't rush appointments. I also appreciate that when I was there for my son, he checks in to see how my skin issue is resolving. I had a minor billing/communication issue but they were helpful to resolve it even though it was partially my fault. read more

Dr. Usman is an extremely knowledgeable and caring physician. My primary care doctor was unsure about how to diagnose my condition, and thankfully referred me to Dr. Usman. When I called Premier Dermatology, the staff were wonderful about getting me in soon when another patient canceled their appointment. Dr. Usman is personable, helpful, and didn't rush through my appointment. He diagnosed me with a rare condition and recommended specific bloodwork to rule out diseases with which my condition is commonly linked. He personally called me to check on how I was feeling and see if I had any questions. He also called to tell me my bloodwork results were normal. These days, it's uncommon to have such a sincerely caring physician who takes the time to call and check on patients. I was very pleased with my experience and I'm happy to have found a dermatologist I can trust and count on. read more

Dr. Usman is the real deal. I've been to a lot of different dermatologists, and have tried just about everything out there. Most of the doctors I've visted have been very innefective, or have kept me waiting ridiculous time periods (both at the office and for appointment dates). Dr. Usman only has me come in as much as needed, and he pays close attention to make sure his prescription is the right one. Since seeing Dr. Usman, I've recommended him to my father, mother, and younger brother. They've all had great experiences, as well. read more

I initially came here for the high ratings. After personally being a patient here at Premier dermatology I will vouch from my experience. It's not worth it. Let's just say my dog gets more quality attention during her veterinarian check ups. You don't get your bang for your buck. Ending on a positive note.... Our family loves Dr. Ussman when coming to this practice. He's so easy going, patient and has a great personality. He is always quick to diagnose and prescribe medication as necessary. I also had a mole removed and he did it painlessly and I had no visible scars. I was very thankful since it was on my face. This office is often very busy plus Dr. Ussman in spread across this office and Purceville office. So, booking an appointment does take time to get in to see him. That is really my only reason for not giving this office a 5 star. read more

I've only seen Dr. Usman twice and both times it was felt rushed. Though he is polite, etc., on my 2nd visit, I kid you not, he literally saw me for only 3 mins and moved to the next patient. Even though my insurance covered 90% of the bill, I was disappointed to see the visit cost $190. No wonder healthcare is so expensive in the US. read more

My rash turned out to be an infection I required antibiotics for. I was so dissatisfied with my treatment I have asked for a release of medical records. Went today for the first time. The staff were all very friendly as was Dr Usman. He was professional and friendly and he addressed all of my concerns. Out of all the reviews I'm surprised that not one person mentioned that he is totally hot. I heard about this practice from a friend who went after reading the reviews here on YELP. I needed a new derma as mine moved his office to Maryland only. So today was my first time. So I was late, as usual, and the front desk staff were helpful and cool about it. I saw Dr Usman and we went through my list of about 6 items--and both him and his partner knew about the rare condition I have--usually I have to explain it to non endocrinologists--I was so pleased. I had a small tiny cyst that he offered to have removed during this office visit--I was expecting to have to come back. His partner removed it in a few minutes. I go back to have the two stitches removed in a week, I am really pleased at how accomodating and kind and professional the 5 people I dealt with today all were (to include the 2 doctors). I just found myself a new derma that am very happy with. Office is clean and orderly. Next to a mega church on RTE 7, you can see a neon sign that says DINER on the building the practice is in--go to the second floor and turn right and it is at the end of the hall. read more

Dr.Usman and his team are extremely pleasant and accommodating. After being very dissatisfied with another dermatologist who cancelled my annual checkup without notice (I had only discovered this because I called to inquire about my appointment after not receiving a confirmation call), I called to see if Dr. Usman had any new patient availability. They didn't at the time but the sweet ladies up front kept my number and assured me that they would call if anything became available. They called to offer one appointment , which I unfortunately could not make , and even called a SECOND time to offer me an alternative time. I waited for Dr. Lejman for more than 30 minutes. When she finally came in to see me she was rushing. She looked me over in about two minutes and mentioned one mole that I might want to keep an eye on. I wanted to discuss having the mole removed, but I realized that I wanted someone who would take time to actually earn the money I'm paying them by giving me some time and attention. I was searching for a good dermatologist after a bad experience at a certain N.VA group of dermatologists. I was very pleased with Dr. Usman's office from the beginning. The receptionist was helpful and friendly making my appointment as well as upon arrival. The office is very nice too. Dr. Usman was attentive, and listened well to whatever information or questions that I had. He was helpful to explain things, and gave a variety of options, and not just the most expensive ones first. In fact, the first was a simple over-the-counter remedy which I appreciated. He was not in a rush to move on which I also appreciated. We'll definitely return for any future derm needs! It was a far better experience than I've had a 2 other local derm offices. read more

The front desk does not seem interested in performing what I would consider standard practice for a medical facility. They made me call my insurance company to verify insurability for the visit. At every other doctor I have visited the front desk does this for the patient. Next we had an extraordinarily long wait for a 9am appointment. We waited for over 45 minutes after our appointment time to get called in. The nurse came in and was pleasant enough. I explained that my daughter had been using benzoyl peroxide to treat her acne, but had recently started having a significant skin rash from the benzoyl peroxide. The nurse left, and Dr. Usman came in with a prescription already written without ever seeing my daughter. He handed me the prescription and a discount coupon for when I filled the prescription. Fortunately I looked at the fine print on the coupon where I read that benzoyl peroxide was the active ingredient. I asked him if he had even spoken to the nurse, to which he shrugged me off. I question the quality of care when: 1) The patient is asked to do a task which is standard for a front desk 2) The doctor writes a prescription for a patient sight-unseen 3) The contents of the nurse's interview is never conveyed to the doctor read more

I was a first time patient on 3/27 to Premier Dermatology. I had an allergic reaction along with a couple routine issues to discuss. The front desk associate, Linda, was beyond helpful and assisted me with getting in quickly when another patient cancelled their appt. Although at the end of the day, Dr. Usman took his time to listen to all my concerns and addressed everything. He was super knowledgeable and patient.
