Their administrative staff needs to be replaced. They billed the wrong insurance on my wife and have refused to fix it!! We even came into the office with the appropriate insurance cards and were assured they would fix it. LIARS!! When you say you're going to fix something-- DO IT, or call us and we'll try to work it together. This has been dragging on since SEPTEMBER. It's now FEBRUARY. These guys need to go out of business. They have lost any further business and I hope to cost them lots of referrals. read more

I worked with Dr. Hussain for laser hair removal. Laser hair removal is not a one and done process, and Dr. Hussain educated me on the process of having multiple sessions because hair growth minimizes each time. I was pleased with how he shared this information so that I could manage expectations and also be mindful that the experience is not all painless. I was diagnosed with Breast cancer in Oct 2013 and seen immediately by Dr Williams, he set up the oncologist, Dr Irfanfor me. Everyone was on a schedule that they followed. When it was time for my double mastectomy Dr Williams and Irfan saw me in the same day to coordinate. I have never had an issue with the staff. They schedule me when the dr says and if I need to see a dr the put me in same day. My reconstruction surgery with Dr Irfan was done well. He took the time to explain everything. They all show great compassion and listen to all of my concerns. I could not recommend a better team. read more

This is a fabulous dermatology practice. I have been a patient for several years and am so pleased with the care. Millie is a fabulous PA and during my twice yearly appointments she goes over me with great care to ensure there are no "spots" that are concerning.. and if there are she takes care of them. 2 years ago Dr. Galaria removed a basal cell from the corner of my eye lid and put the stitches in a tiny fold of skin so you can't see it at all. I'm so extremely frustrated with this practice. I have been a patient here since the beginning of 2021. I initially went to them on a referral basis to see Dr. John Williams. Extremely pleased with that visit, I found the need for dermatology services recently. I thought of them and they worked me in quickly for my new issue. The biopsy I received from the PA and assistant were to be expected. Simple procedure, we will call you with results. Went back a week later after the 4th of July to have sutures removed. Still no results but expected during holiday weekend. They received my results the following day, but I have yet to hear from any providers within the practice. I called them today to inquire about the status- it's been almost 2 weeks. They inform me of the above and that the PA I saw was out of the office. So that was the "disconnect"; but someone would review and call me later today. Gee, thanks for the info! The lack of communication is actually impressive. And I'm not saying that just from my experience. While In the waiting area (for both appointments) I noticed many things that would lead to this. The admin staff does not seem to communicate with clinical staff and vice versa. And when they are communicated it seems to be missing pieces or just incorrect entirely. The practice manager (admin) is also someone that is very brisk with patients and almost seems annoyed/ impatient whenever she was needed. She got extremely close to a shouting match with an upset patient while I was waiting for an appointment on 6/30. Really not a good first impression. Especially as a medical professional myself with over a decade of experience. I'm unsure if I will continue care with this practice. I am unfortunately stuck right now. It is clean, convenient location, etc. PA and medical assistants I saw were great. But the things I have witnessed on the admin side make it extremely hard to have any confidence with the physicians and care professionals. So the first time I came to Galaria Dermatology it was for my daughter. I scheduled time off work, picked her up from school, only to find out that there was a mix up in scheduling. Thankfully, Dr. Galaria squeezed my daughter in (on her lunch break) which I was incredibly thankful for. I ended up making an appointment for myself because I liked her so much. My first visit (personally) went well and I felt Dr. Galaria really listened to my needs as a patient more so than any of the previous dermatologists I had seen. Now fast forward.. When I went to my follow up appointment a few weeks later (this of course also involved scheduling time off work) I waited for almost 1.5 hours only to find out they had no idea when Dr. Galaria would be able to see me - so I had to leave to pick up my children from the bus (could not waste any more time). I tried calling back to reschedule and getting an appointment was an absolute nightmare. There is zero accommodation for people who work. But fine. Whatever. I was forced to schedule something in the middle of the day and in a different city from my preferred location. Fast forward a few months to today... I received a robo call yesterday noting my appointment was in Chantilly, but I scheduled it in brambleton. For 2 hours this morning, I tried calling to confirm the location and nobody answered the phone. In short, the information on the robo call was incorrect. I'm now sitting here listening to the staff laugh and goof off (instead of answering the phone... I actually haven't seen the phone answered once)... assuming that explains all the scheduling mistakes and confusion. Also, for what it's worth (and I realize this may be a me thing)... the staff that brings you into the room to gather your medical info is/are incredibly young. I never feel comfortable explaining my concerns or needs with someone who looks like they're in high school. I want to speak with the doctor or at least a real nurse that had experience.... Ok so now I've been waiting for almost 40 min and no sign of the doctor (so this is the second instance in which my time was wasted). My time is just as valuable as the doctor's ... this cost me money as I had to get a babysitter. I ended up walking out and not rescheduling. It's a shame this place is run like a sh*t show because I did like the doctor. But it's not worth the aggravation and wasted time. read more

I love Dr Noreen. She has a light touch with the dpray to freeze off spots of potential skin cancer. I find the staff very caring, and easy to work with. You do have to make an appointment quite a ways in advance, as she gets booked up pretty quickly. But I think that's true of any good dermatologist. read more

Hello everyone! As most people have said, this place has not so great customer service, in fact, pretty terrible customer service. We had been living in the northern VA area for about 7 months when we first went in for a consultation. I'm a minor so my mother went with me for the first visit. It went smoothly and the only hitch was that they needed my records of any past dermatology prescriptions. Which was fine. They told us they'd call our old dermatologist and get the records. 2 weeks go by and my mother calls them to follow up. They told us they called the dermatologist the same day we were at the office and they said that apparently our old dermatologist "didn't have any records of me being seen," they apparently just didn't think to let us know about that. So my mom calls our old dermatologist to confirm they have the records, which they do. Then my mom calls Galaria again to say that our old place DOES have our records. They tell us they'll call again and get records. 1 week later, same situation, mom calls, they say,"no records, sorry for forgetting to call you," EVERY time my mother calls Galaria from this point on, they never answer. They only respond in voicemails or never respond back. After 3 months, (today) they send us a voicemail telling us it's time for mu scheduled follow up. Mom calls to let them know I had not had any prescription at all, and they don't respond. My dad then calls and they answer. Now I have a prescription without needed my past records and it's like nothing ever happened. In conclusion, and short story short, terrible customer service, and they're downright sexist. 0/10 definitely never recommend. (Thankfully we are switching dermatologists now) read more

UNACCEPTABLE treatment of new patients. UNPROFESSIONAL practice. UNSEEN after arriving to my appointment on time and waiting to be seen for an hour. Once I requested updates to the status of being seen by the receptionist, I was finally brought into a treatment room. Where I was asked to wait - ANOTHER 30 minutes after already waiting for an hour. UNBELIEVEABLE how this practice treats new patients. I am a 42 year old woman who has been to countless doctors over the years and this was the first time - ever - where I have walked out of a treatment room and requested a refund of my office payment and left. And equally unelieveable is that not one soul reached out to me after this horrifying experience. No apology, no request to reschedule. Silence. Don't get it twisted. No response is indeed a response. And I heard it their response loud and clear. I consider it a blessing in disguise to have gone through this experience as this place is not worth my time and money. Anyone who considers visiting this practice should think twice...actually three times. And always remember that your time is valuable when seeing a health professional. If they do not value your time, then take it as a clear indication of how they value your healthcare. Oh and did I mention that while I was waiting to be seen I witnessed the Receptionist spend 30+ minutes going back/forth with another patient fighting over her bill in front of everyone? I have been going to this practice for several years. I was first referred to Dr. Irfan Galaria to have something removed from the back of my leg. He gave me two options (office or hospital) and I elected to do it in the hospital. He was absolutely wonderful before, during and after the surgery. And while I have a scar (and I knew I would), it's really not bad. He does good work. As a result, I became a patient of Dr. Noreen Galaria for general dermatology. She is very smart, knowledgeable and efficient. She takes her time with you and explains everything very well. And honestly, if you are going to go to someone for your skin, you want to go to someone who has the holy grail of skin. Her skin is absolutely amazing, so she knows what she's doing in that department. She does not push products on me or try to sell me anything. She often suggests inexpensive over the counter solutions to common issues. As others have said, the wait can be long (I will admit I have waited so long sometimes that I have had to get dressed and go out to the bathroom and come back). And even if you get the first appointment of the day, you still may not be seen on time. But, in all fairness, my appointments have run longer than scheduled due to unforeseen things that come up in the course of my examination. So I feel it's only fair that I wait as I am sure I have made other's wait for me. I love these doctors enough that I plan for the lateness, I bring my Kindle and check work email while I wait and have made peace with it. read more

Repeat patient who won't be going back. I was running late for my appointment and called to let the office know, only to be put on hold. While I continued to hold for 15 minutes as I drove, I finally gave up. After the 45 minute drive, I walked into an empty waiting room ten minutes late for my appointment (I recognize that I was late), waited for 10 minutes and was then told I had to reschedule because the staff was too busy to see me. While I was apologetic for my late arrival, I dont think I want to waste an hour of travel time and time off from work again to be turned away from a business that is too overbooked to attend to repeat customers. Frankly, it didn't feel at all like a doctors visit as a patient, they made it seem much more like a business. Made an appointment at 1:15 pm and showed up at 1:00pm. Waited in the waiting area until 2:15 pm and decided to leave. Asked one of the two front office ladies about the current status of my appointment. Asked the straight-haired blonde receptionist and she went to the back to check the status. She came back out and didn't provide any further updates and just sat down. The waiting area quickly got full. In the current environment of a pandemic, this scenario was not ideal and decided to leave after sitting for an hour of my appointment. Noted also was that the front office ladies were not wearing any protective masks and the office did not provide any hand sanitizers. The experience was a disappointment and would advise Galaria to please keep the integrity of their appointments. Response to Galaria rebuttal: While the office policy to follow CDC guidelines is commended, it is not what I observed when I was there. There were no notices in the public area of a "wash station", the receptionists were not wearing masks and waiting with limited space got full quickly. They did not limit the amount of people going into the waiting area. Yes it is true Galaria did call me, but it was over an hour after my scheduled appointment and I had already left the compound as I felt Galaria didn't want my business. I made the appointment over the phone and they told me to be there at least 15 minutes before my appointment. I did as instructed and nobody at Galaria provided any reasoning for me waiting over an hour. read more

So again, after several emails and telephone conversations over them telling me I didn't pay my $35 co-pay during my Nov 3rd visit, I have been telling them that I was mis-charged for the botox, supposed to be $11/un but was charged $13/un... the difference would be $70, therefore paying the co-pay on my medical procedure, leaving them OWING ME $35 due to over payment. They are actually willing to lose a patient over their presumed $35 then work with the patient who has the records to prove!! read more

I am newer to this practice and the experience has been great. I was reminded about my appointment via phone and text (I need all the reminders). I arrived and spent a very short amount of time in the waiting room. The staff has been efficient and friendly (even behind their mask). Dr. Noreen Galaria and the PA Milagros Shepard have been very patient to explain options and help me understand their recommendations. Being female I also appreciated talking to women about my concerns and receiving caring feedback. I wish I had found this practice sooner. read more

Left a message on their voicemail never received a return phone call. Tried one more time finally got through. We show up for our appointment at the Brambleton location and the door was locked. The receptionist opened the door and explained to me that they canceled my appointment and got in touch with me, which they did not ,not even a phone call or email . No problem. Rescheduled for the following week. Finally saw the dermatologist. He gave us a prescription. This was three days ago and they still haven't called in the prescription. Called the office this morning , Again couldn't get through, went through the doctors phone line finally got somebody on the phone and said she would put the prescription through today. Still no prescription! This place is the WORST doctors office I've ever came in contact with. Completely unprofessional and zero communication. If you don't believe me try for yourself. I have been going to Galaria Plastic Surgery and Dermatology for over ten years. The providers are mostly PAs and are fine. The woman I usually see doesn't even recognize me and doesn't seem to bother reviewing my chart before coming into my room because she is not familiar with my dermatological medical history. This is significant as I have had skin cancer and have a family history of malignant melanoma that killed my grandfather. After I remind the PA of this history, her whole tone changes. Would make it easier for the both of us if she just glanced at my chart. She spends about ten minutes with me and runs to the next patient so I imagine it is difficult to keep track. However I am so frustrated with their disorganized billing department. I was last there in the spring and have continued to received past due bills which I have already paid. I called a month ago and spoke to a gentleman on the phone who told me I could ignore the bill as I had paid them all. I have received another bill since that time and am starting to wonder whether they are just sending them out hoping to get paid again for the same services rendered. Do not recommend this place to anyone and am looking for another dermatology office. read more

The staff in the exam room was so rude, she handed me a gown that wouldn't even fit half way around my body and didn't even care or offer a drape. When Mr Galeria came in he asked how I was and I said I was very nervous and terrified so what does he do crack a stupid. Joke then started talking to my husband who was in the room. NO compassion or human feelings from the robot doctor who just wanted to talk about cars, it was absurd. Then when he began the surgery only said these are my Hands then radio silence. I asked to be told what he was doing cutting, pulling, suturing but nothing! He never showed me the incisions after he was done just covered them up. The girl mislabeled the specimens going to the lab for pathology! Brief instructions we given for would care that I couldn't see bc I was laying on My back! No extra quake or bandages to take home -- NOTHING! Absolutely felt like a rat race - get them in - get them out - collect the money. read more

I have seen both Irfan and Noreen Galaria. When going to see Noreen for a suspicious looking spot on my skin that would not heal, I just happened to be in the area and stopped in to make an appointment. Like most dermatologists, I expected to have to wait probably a month or so for an appointment. I must have been lucky that day as the receptionist said she had an opening if I could wait about an hour. (I'm now trying that tactic with all my doctor appointments, even if it was just a quirk!) She is knowledgeable, has a great bedside manner, and explains everything thoroughly and in language a lay person can understand. She also found an additional spot on my skin that I was completely unaware of. She has a very trained eye. Because I have a compromised immune system, I made it a point to schedule a more thorough body check on my way out so I could grab a date on her calendar. Once in for the body check, she found something suspicious, so sent it out for a biopsy. Sure enough, it was basal cell carcinoma. Enter Irfan Galaria. I was scheduled to have it removed by him. He is as friendly and as knowledgeable as Noreen, and he makes you so comfortable while doing the procedure, you're done before you know it. He's very congenial, and one reason I really like him is because he volunteers oversees in underdeveloped countries and shares his gift with the less fortunate. My husband also went to Irfan Galaria for his 'trigger finger,' a really painful tendon problem one can get in a finger..or fingers! Again, Dr. Galaria was thorough, provided great instructions after he operated on my husband and provided preventative information, which is rare with most doctors. Great practice all around, and I will continue to give them my business. read more

Dr. Noreen Galaria is a phenomenal dermatologist. She is caring, knowledgeable, and extremely patient. I have been seeing her for over 10 years, and I drive over an hour to see her because I don't trust anyone else. I developed an issue on my lip and on the inside of my mouth, and after consulting my dentist and an ENT, neither of them could diagnose my problem. The ENT actually told me he had never seen anything like it, which made me very concerned. I went to see Dr. Galaria and she diagnosed me straight away, plus came up with a plan of treatment. Today I had a laser procedure done on my lip and on the inside of my mouth. I am extremely afraid of needles, but Dr. Galaria and her team were just amazing. They were gentle, encouraging, and caring. At one point her nurse started fanning me as she noticed I was getting a little pale. I had been putting off this procedure for a while due to Covid-19 and my own fears, but I am so glad I finally got the procedure done. I have nothing but praise for Noreen and her office staff. They are wonderful and I will continue to recommend her services to anyone in need of dermatological care. read more

well...here we go... i made an appointment with the clinic to discuss having 2 moles removed - i met with the PA, and it took all of 10 minutes for her to say "no problem, let's set an appointment and we'll take care of it no problem" - i asked about insurance, and she said that if insurance does not approve the procedure (she said they should since the lab will send the tissue to pathology), it'll be $250 a few days before my scheduled appt, i get the call to remind me of the appt, and to discuss the cost - turns out my insurance didn't approve, and so the young lady on the phone says it'll be "$250 for the consult, and $750 for the procedure"...WHOA...imagine my surprise when i heard that amount - a) didn't we just do a "consult" where a doctor said they can remove the moles?, and b) that seemed a ridiculous price for what she referred to as a minor procedure...i said "please check into the cost if it's only 1 of them", and they said they would call me back i never heard from them, despite a SECOND conversation about price and my request for updated costs...so i cancelled my appt, i will not return nor would i recommended this place... read more
