I had the opportunity to visit the Dermatology Center after moving to the area. I've been to…read moreseveral Dermatologist Doctors and was apprehensive about a female Doctor. But, my fears were overcome with her winning professional care and advice! At my age I felt somewhat relieved that Dr. Nygen and her team of very friendly and capable assistants listened as I went into detail, listing my past visits with other doctors, my history and the reason's I arranged an appointment. (My years in the military and working outdoors; while being exposed to outdoor sports while having my face and body exposed to the sun and storm conditions and other outdoor elements over the course of 30 plus years, it takes a toll on a persons skin and body. However, I felt at ease and comfortable as I was examined by her, and she explained the many reasons and dangers being exposed to the sun on a day-to-day basis, without using sun tan locations with PF factors of 40-50% or any other protections! And I found her and her staffs "Bedside manner," completely professional in every way possible! She is a credit to her profession and to the center's and to the many patients like myself, around her that need her advice and care! In fact, over the many years, I've been to many Dermatologists and without a-doubt she is the best i've ever been to! Kudos to her, her many assistants and to the center for their profession demeanor and wonderful assistance!

I have been a patient of Dermatology Center of Loudoun for many years, primarily seeing Dr. Jane…read moreNguyen and Sophia, PA. After my experience today, I will not be returning. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment, I was unexpectedly told I had an outstanding balance. I asked for documentation and was handed a statement that clearly showed a $0.00 balance due. When I questioned this, I was eventually told that my account had been sent to collections and the balance had therefore been "adjusted out" of their system. This was the first I had ever heard of a balance or collections. I had received no phone call, bill, letter, email, text, or other notification. I had even recently called the office to reschedule this appointment and received multiple appointment reminders, yet no one mentioned an outstanding balance. A nurse actually called me back for my appointment, but the billing manager stopped me and said I could not be seen until I took care of the collection balance. When I asked her to show me documentation of what I owed, she couldn't because she needed to restart her system. I asked to proceed with my appointment while she did that, since I was already more than 40 minutes past my appointment time. I was told no--I could not be seen until I paid. So despite their own paperwork showing $0 due, and without being able to provide documentation supporting what they claimed I owed, I ultimately gave them my credit card so I could receive the medical care I had come for. Then I discovered another problem: I had specifically scheduled with Sophia after being told Dr. Nguyen was unavailable for several months. Once I was finally taken back, I was told I would be seeing Meredith instead because Sophia had a conflict. No one had contacted me about the provider change. Had they done so, I would have rescheduled. Before leaving, I asked to speak with the office manager. Instead, Dr. Tran, who introduced himself as one of the owners, came in. I tried to explain that my concern wasn't simply the long wait--it was being told I was in collections with no prior notice, being shown paperwork saying I owed $0, being prevented from proceeding with my appointment until I paid a disputed balance, and having much of this discussed at the front desk in front of other patients. He called it a "miscommunication" and repeatedly interrupted me. I finally asked, "May I speak? Can you let me finish?" When I pointed out that he hadn't even heard my side, he told me there were "no sides." That ended the conversation for me. Billing mistakes and scheduling problems happen. What matters is how a practice handles them. After years as a patient, I expected to at least be allowed to explain what happened and have my concerns taken seriously. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed, dismissed, and incredibly disappointed.

I wanted to make sure to detect any potential cancer early. I came in and the PA that saw me (this was a few years ago, so I don't remember who!) listened to my concerns and advised me on the different things I could do. I have also come in for concerns regarding irritated piercings and most recently for my yearly skin cancer screening. Dr. Zahir was the provider for my piercing concern as well as for my annual skin cancer screening. He listened to my concerns, answered my questions and gave me recommendations on how to approach my irritated piercing, and I was really happy with the service. He provided thorough screening for my annual skin cancer screening and also answered a lot of my questions with great detail. I really appreciated the thorough service because I have seen a couple dermatologists previously when I was traveling, and I felt they were not nearly as thorough as he was. I spend a lot of time outdoors and under the sun, so it's really imperative that the provider is very thorough in case there are questionable changes or growths! Prevention and early detection are key! They have 3 offices in the area: Ashburn, Purcellville and Winchester. I believe the providers rotate their time in a couple, or all 3, of the offices, so you may be able to see them in the different locations. They also used to not have providers available for Wednesday in the Ashburn location, but they have recently opened up a couple hours and I was able to visit during a day off on a Wednesday, very convenient! Overall, I'm very much satisfied with the services I've received and will continue to come back for future concerns or preventatives.

The diagnoses have been accurate, and I have been helped with a couple different issues. They are reasonably fast with seeing patients and I've never had any billing issues.

It started to grow in size and had become flaky and painful. My welcome by Clear Dermotology reception was terrible. I arrive to the office, as I'm waiting to check in my phone rings. It's Clear Dermotology's receptionist! She was calling to remind me of there late policy! She stated that if I do not arrive in the next few minutes she was going to charge me. For starters, I was not late and I was standing at check in! How embarrassing for her! I was seen by Dr. Z. He did not make me feel at ease at all. He seemed distracted and it was clear I didn't have his full attention. He looked at my lesion and suggested a biopsy and I agreed. Despite being given lanocaine (topical & injected) the procedure was very painful! I stated that it hurts but he kept cutting. Later, I asked if there was a medicine or ointment I could use if in case the lesion returned. He only suggested petroleum jelly/aquafor. I left feeling very disappointed and in pain. It was later reviled that the lesion was benign. I felt like I didn't get any resolution or advice on how to treat this lesion. It was a waste of my time. About a month later, I healed but the lesion was showing signs of its return. I had no idea what to do so I decided it was something I'll have to live with and to just get used to it despite how bad it felt. In July 2025, I noticed a weird skin growth on my forehead. In fear of possiblly experiencing another painful biopsy I made an appointment with another dermotologist. I went to this new doctor and my visit was wonderful! She addressed the skin growth I originally booked the appointment for but showed major concern with the lesion I previously had biopsied. She wanted to biopsy it again and I agreed. The whole procedure was easy and painless! Two days later, I received a call that the lesion was pre-cancerous! Thank goodness I went to another dermatologist! I'm now scheduled to get rid of this lesion once and for all. No thanks to Clear Dermotology!
