We wasted thousands of dollars hiring Stacy. At first she was attentive towards my daughter, but as time went by she lost interest. The one time we really needed help with her dress, and she didn't return my call. In fact as the MOB she never acknowledged me the day of the wedding except when I asked to move the cards to a safer spot at reception in which she gave me an attitude. Don't expect her to be at the venue the morning of when the bride shows up or stay until the end. She shows up later to take a picture of rings etc with some fake flowers. ( not my daughters). Also, don't bother using the paper company next door. Little black dress. Hugh rip off. I sat at a table next to the owner, who never looked at me never mind acknowledge the person filling her bank account. Bottom line my daughter could have done all the planning herself. The planner at your venue is all you need. Don't waste your money .

But, as we got deeper into planning, we quickly realized having a month of coordinator was absolutely necessary for a stress-free day. In the months leading up to the wedding, I occasionally peppered Elise with questions, and she always answered quickly and helpfully. We began our meetings together a little over a month out from the big day, and from the start Elise was warm, organized, thoughtful, and professional. She was always two steps ahead of me and anticipated things I never had, even as an extremely Type A bride. Having Elise working behind the scenes made the day such a breeze for me and my husband. We had a detailed and well-planned timeline to go by, and didn't have to worry about the minutiae that can take away from being able to enjoy the day. My husband and I wanted to be entirely present for our wedding, and as natural hosts, it was so nice to not have to worry about all the little details for once. If anything went wrong, we didn't know about it. Our day was that smooth, thanks to Elise. I honestly don't know how we would have done it without her, she was amazing at helping us organize family, friends, vendors, timing, music, etc. etc. It was very clear that she'd listened to the type of ceremony and reception we wanted and she made excellent suggestions along the way to make sure everything was ready to go for the big day. On the day she was a wonderful calming influence and just let us (and our families!) enjoy ourselves. She had everything planned down to the minute (and alerted the relevant parties ahead of time) so that she could cue everything up as it happened, seamlessly. At one point my Mum managed to spilt an entire glass of Champagne on my Dad's speech right before we was due to stand up. Though it was pretty funny in hindsight it made him nervous in the moment but without causing any alarm Elise jumped in to help salvaged the speech and gave him her clipboard to make it easier to read. She even noticed that my wife's Grandparents weren't great on their feet so when it came time for the buffet she already had plates prepared for them. It was a pleasure and we were so glad that it meant we were able to just enjoy each other and all of our guests instead of worrying about the event. More than worth it.

My wedding venue was ultimately canceled due to poor communication on Tanya's part and her failure to clearly explain basic contractual terms. As a professional planner, she should have guided me through the process with clarity and transparency--but instead, I was left confused and misinformed. What was promised to be a "stress-free" planning experience turned into the opposite--Tanya created more mess and work for me than she solved. She lacked basic organization and attention to detail, especially on the day of the wedding. Rather than focusing on ensuring my day went smoothly, she appeared more interested in networking with my vendors for her future business than in making sure my event was successful. She failed to keep track of our pre-planned schedule, which led to major moments being missed--including my father-daughter dance and bouquet toss. Throughout the night, she seemed more concerned about eating and staying in the air-conditioned venue than checking in with me or my husband or making sure the timeline was on track. From the beginning, Tanya made promises she didn't deliver on. I hired her as a day-of coordinator six months before the wedding. While I only paid for day-of services, she insisted on helping earlier in the process--which I initially appreciated, since this was my first wedding. However, within just two months of giving her contact information to my venue, she had already caused enough frustration with the property manager that I had to step in myself. By that point, the damage was done--he canceled our contract two months before the wedding. Thankfully, I was able to find another venue, but even then, Tanya again managed to upset the new property manager. Multiple vendors and both venue managers told me the same thing: "Your planner is very unprofessional and doesn't understand the basics of wedding planning." Despite their warnings, I held onto hope that she would follow through on the day of. Sadly, she didn't. When it came to execution, there was no flow. As the officiant, she failed to ask the DJ for a microphone (which was readily available), resulting in guests not being able to hear the ceremony. She also forgot to ask guests to stand when I walked down the aisle--something we specifically discussed in advance. A guest had to step in and call it out. Tanya is what I would call a "yes" planner--quick to agree, but slow (or unable) to follow through. I constantly had to remind her of things and even suggest solutions myself. Her behavior lacked professionalism at every turn, and she did not have the knowledge or presence of a competent wedding coordinator. What's more, Tanya was seen vaping in front of my guests--completely unprofessional and inappropriate. When she finally did get on the microphone, instead of sharing important timeline information, she spent her time talking about moving cars--something that could've easily been handled off-mic and by someone else. In the end, my experience with Happy Planning Events was full of broken promises and unnecessary stress. Tanya appeared more focused on building vendor relationships than prioritizing her client's experience or staying within budget. I strongly urge anyone looking for a true professional to look elsewhere. Don't be fooled by the branding--this service has a long way to go before it lives up to the name.
