My husband and I got married on September 27th at Oakeside Mansion. We were beyond disappointed with the execution process by Frungillio's. Frungillio's as a whole, and our event coordinator Ed, were disorganized, not prompt to answer e-mails leading up to our event and dishonest. Our first red flag was after signing our contract, we received an e-mail (not even the courtesy of giving us a phone call) saying they double booked our original date, despite having already signed our contract. We were so in love with the venue, we chalked it up to a miscommunication--no big deal. Unfortunately, instances like this became regular throughout our planning process. Many promises were made and fell short on our wedding day. We worked with Ed throughout our planning process. On most occasions, it took at least a week to get a response back and most of the time, my husband had to text, call and e-mail several times to prompt a response. The morning of the wedding I received a text message from Ed saying he would not be able to attend our wedding due to an emergency. We had been working with him for over a year and while I understand circumstances arise, I believe a phone call is the LEAST he could do to break the news--most brides would freak out! Ed and Frungillio's promised to essentially be my "go-to" on the day of the wedding, but again they fell short. Decor was not organized as promised. Details that were promised in our final meeting were not executed. Staff had to be told as guests were arriving to finish setting up the cocktail hour. Ed failed to communicate with my vendors. Staff was nowhere to be found minutes before the wedding. I (the bride!!) had to put my bridal party in the processional order because no one was there to do it for me. We didn't even know where to put the overflow of garbage from the bridal suite. One of the two bathrooms broke half way through the wedding and there was no assistance for our guests other than a "out of order" sign on the door. The next day our family went to pick up our decor with the understanding that our items would be in a corner of the tent area as there was another wedding the next day. When our family arrived, our items were sprawled all over the mansion, not in the original boxes or packaging. Items were missing. Extra, unopened candy from our candy bar were stolen (over $500 worth). The groom for the wedding the following day was in a sheer panic because no one who worked for Frungillo's could be found and the mansion was a complete disaster. Following the wedding, I reached out to the owner of Frungillo's and Ed to ask for a meeting to discuss our disappointment. While the original e-mail was acknowledged, the message with our concerns did not receive a response, along with the several phone calls made and additional e-mails. We were blatantly ignored. They received our money and did not care about our dissatisfaction, nor did they try to explain themselves. On top of stealing our decor and favors, my husband and I didn't even receive the top of our wedding cake as a keepsake for our one year anniversary. By no means did Frungillo's ruin my wedding day. Our wedding day was perfect because of the people and love that surrounded the room, not because of their poor attention to detail. If I can give any future bride advice, do not book with Oakeside Mansion or Frungillo's simply because they will not give you the attention you deserve, especially with the money you are paying. It's not worth the stress on YOUR beautiful day. read more

My daughter's wedding was scheduled for 8/22/20 at Ashton Farm in Califon NJ, Catered by Frungillo Caterers, Little Falls, NJ.. Due to Covid restrictions the wedding was cancelled in early April. Robert Frungillo of Frungillo Caterers and Stewert Ashton of Ashton Farms refused to respond to my numerous phone calls and emails, requesting a refund of deposit money. After reading numerous Yelp reviews I have discovered that this is a trend of theirs! All the other vendors associated with the wedding refunded our deposit money. They acted honorably! I highly recommend Miller's tent rental in Edison NJ, Bloomery Florist in Boonton NJ and Noah's Ark Portable Bathroom rental in West Milford NJ. I do not recommend Frungillo Caterers or Ashton Farm. They are dishonorable and have no regard for their patrons! read more

I'm giving three stars because the food was DELICIOUS and we received a lot of compliments from our engagement party guests but I truly would have preferred to leave only two stars. Frungillo was recommended to us for our engagement party at a brewery, as they do not serve food. Being in the midsts of future wedding planning, my fiancee and I had heard the name before and decided to use them for the party. All in all, everything involving communication and details was just frustrating. The pricing for the party was good and they worked within our budget, which was awesome. But when they sent us our initial contract, they had sent us a wedding contract, with a bunch of added details, rules, verbiage, legal jargon, etc. that did not apply to us nor did they address this when they sent it to us. We had to go back and forth with them explaining that the contract we received had a lot of extra things that we had not discussed and we didn't know what to do when finally, they just told us to cross it all out and sign the papers. Fine. When it came time to give a deposit, they do not have an online payment function set up! It's 2019, you can't set up a payment page? We had to go back and forth with CC Authorization and more paperwork and waiting on emails. It just felt very unorganized and antiquated. But still, we were very excited about the menu and the price and just dealt with it. Then the day of the party came. We wanted to make sure we were there to help the caterers set up so we confirmed with them when they'd be arriving because the contract said 3. We were told they'd be coming closer to 4 and with that, left later than we originally planned. Around 3:10, I get an email from the brewery saying the caterers were there and looking to set up. Of course, we were over 45 minutes away at this point as we were told we had an extra hour of time. When we finally did arrive, not one member of the caterer staff spoke to us. No hellos, no questions about the service, no conversation -- nothing. We were busy setting up decor so we really didn't even notice until later that they had not said a single word to us. Could be because they all looked under 18 but, I digress. Now this part is what really made me upset. I paid A DECENT amount of money for this food as our party had nearly 100 guests so I made sure that they knew I was to have maybe 2-3 vegetarian and vegan guests, and if we could just make sure that some of the buffet was prepared separately for people with dietary restrictions, that would be great. (We had corn and salad and things like that, so I asked if we could make sure if we had a tray or two left undressed without dairy products for these guests). The caterer thanked me for letting her know and said they would make sure of it. I heard from MULTIPLE of my guests that they were being rude to people asking about dairy and meat, turning them away, and saying that, "the hosts did not pay for vegan plate options." Vegan plate options? It's a buffet, there are no plate options and all I asked was for a tray or two of food that I was already paying for to be left vegan friendly, which was apparently too much to ask. At the end of the night, even after all this, we wanted to make sure the staff got their fair share of a cash tip from us, but they had cleaned up and left without us even knowing, nor them saying goodbye. We gave the money to the brewery and bar staff as they were incredible and so helpful and friendly and fun the whole night. Frungillo seems to care A LOT about their weddings as that is their speciality (not a bad review in site for weddings), but they clearly do not care about smaller events. We had our daughter's Sweet Sixteen at the Kenilworth Inn. The waitstaff was very young, courteous and hard working. We paid a decent amount of money for the food (85 guests), it was good, but the seasonal vegetables were missing. After a month of mostly being ignored by Amy I opened up an envelope today for a check for $40.00. I cannot believe it, that comes out to 47 cents per person. What an insult! Ridiculous, own your mistake, by giving us a fair refund! I would not recommend this catering company to anyone. read more

Had a ceremony and party for 140 guests at Oakeside Mansion in Bloomfield on Saturday June 3rd. Frungillo is the venue's exclusive caterer. We had a GREAT ceremony and party - Posting this review to help others prepare and ensure a memorable and happy event. Things to Know 1). Inez Recio our assigned coordinator was an extremely caring and sweet person who was creative and attentive to our needs before and during the event.She is low pressure and not trying to upsell like some other venues. But when she recommends something (in her light touch way )you should listen to her. She has good instincts and knows the venue inside and out. 2) This is not a fully turn key venue. For example - had to coordinate directly with liquor distributor; rent, set up and break down ceremony sound equipment; bring number signs for the tables etc. Inez did make OUTSTANDING vendor recommendations, so if managing small details doesn't stress you out, then go for it, 3) Grounds - The ground were lovely - Beautiful rose garden for ceremony or photos. But keep in mind the venue was at one time someone's personal home and is now a historic site. It isn't shiny and new, but is quaint and unique. Accessibility isn't great - big step downs and uneven walkways. Elderly people and women in high heels equally challenged. And single bathrooms are in the house - so if having event outside - guests will be moving in and out. If you choose to do your ceremony outside, be aware that you will hear Garden State Parkway traffic. 4) Food - Cocktail hour was excellent and the set up got guests mingling - dinner was ok - our special order gluten free cake was excellent. Servers were young adults with little experience but super polite. if you are looking for an upscale dining experience this may not be the right venue - but i think Frungillo has the capability to deliver fine dining (at a higher cost) at some of their newer venues. 5). Price - considerably less than some other venues for a June date - so if cost is a concern - this is a great value for your money. 6) Tent - The tent was transformed by our florist Vito (The Potted Geranium) and was perfect. But I would be very careful using the tent in the summer because there is no air conditioning or even proper fans. We had perfect weather - 75 degrees and sunny when we arrived at 5:00 p.m. and 55 degrees when we left at 11:00 pm. But once everyone started dancing it got really warm! Also, we had 15 tables and the space felt tight for 140 adults and kids and the dance floor was overflowing at times. Bottom-line - we had a great party and now have wonderful memories. We had our wedding at the Oakeside Mansion (run by Frungillo) and it was perfect! I personally planned all of the decor, which meant I didn't have a planner or a coordinator to organize everything the day of. We were able to get in the evening before and finish decorating everything, and Inez followed all of my instructions perfectly down to the last detail for place settings, floral arrangements, and all the little touches I planned! We had some snafus on the day (DJ stuck in traffic, things running late, etc) but Inez always kept things moving smoothly so I didn't stress out at all. Everyone raved about the food from Frungillo, and it was a pleasure working with Inez throughout the planning process. She responded to my (numerous) emails and let my family visit the venue a couple of times just to check it out. My favourite thing about this venue is it's all yours for the whole day- no awkwardly running into other wedding parties, and it really feels like your home and the perfect place to host your guests. It's so magical when it's lit up at night - can't recommend the venue, Inez, and her crew enough! read more

Frungillo is an excellent catering company with very competent and helpful staff. They make sure that you are taken care of from the very beginning. There are plenty of options to choose from, and the food is excellent! My wife and I chose Frungillo for our wedding and everyone raved about the food. Our Maître d', Inez, was so helpful and made us feel comfortable the entire time. Her wait staff was also excellent. The only thing to keep in mind is that tips for event staff are not included in the service charge, and they will not explain that to you upfront. read more

The one star is for the beautiful rooms! Unfortunately the food was terrible and the service was non-existant. We were at a lovely baby shower today and when we arrived the room temp was about 50& it was freezing. After several complaints, they finally made it more normal. When we got there to first set up, there was no one at all in the venue (this was 30 minutes before the party). We had to search everywhere& call out& finally found a woman in a room on the phone. She completely ignored us though we were standing right in front of her. When the soup was finally served, it took about 1/2 hour for 6 tables to get soup& bread. The tomatoe soup was poured out f soda pitchers& we were all given Teaspoons! We weree told that is the only spoon available. They forgot to put out the veggie platter& pigsin blanket(as ordered). When we asked, they were brought out& the veggies were stale. We asked several times to have music playing background-it never happened! The salad had no dressing though there was a bowl of ranch next to it. No oil& vinegar & no one around to ask. The sandwiches were good but small. Chicken, ham& tuna. It also took about 1/2 hour to bring them out a few at a time. We had to ask several times to have the cake cut & dstributed. This was a 3 hour event& the service was just awful. Very overpriced& what a shame. The venue is gorgeous with a piano at entrance. This place needs car valets, an exceptional manager& staff with personality& experince, not teens. But it especially needs better food!!! read more

I'd recommend looking elsewhere for a caterer. Was really disappointed with Frungillos that they didn't take care of things when they made a big mistake on a big factor of the catering for the day of my wedding. I tried to give them over a month to fix the problem and received bad service in that time instead. read more

We recently toured this venue for a wedding. We contacted John initially to use him as a caterer for a nearby location. He was very attentive and always answered my calls on his personal phone. We met with him at The Villa and he gave us a tour of this beautiful location as well as offered us a great deal. The building is located right off the highway and is surrounded by trees/gardens and a fountain. There is a mini outside patio area with a small pond. The cocktail and reception area are gorgeous and there is beautiful uplighting. John sat and talked with us for such a long time and answered all our questions. He was willing to help us customize the menu and make it extremely unique for us. We came here in the past for a free tasting and the food was amazing. read more

Our wedding at Skylands Manor was absolutely beautiful! Even though it looked like it was about to rain leading up to and to the end of our outdoor ceremony, it was still a perfect fairytale wedding. We got married on a Sunday but we essentially spent the weekend at Skylands. Our ceremony rehearsal was the Saturday before and Linda was great at explaining to my bridal party (including all the many small children we had walking with us) how the day was going to go. On the day of, Linda was great at keeping everything on pace. She checked in on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was amazing during cocktail hour and the reception and all of our guests raved about how wonderful everything was. I only wish that my husband and I got to sit down and taste more of it. Only our immediate family stayed in the available rooms but every room was amazing and the bridal suite was absolutely gorgeous! Our photographer had a great time shooting pictures there as well as in just about every part of the castle. My only criticisms would be the responsiveness to our emails during the planning stage. Linda was good at answering emails but a lot of times her responses were quick and only just answering the question I asked. More detailed responses would have been helpful in the planning stages but overall the quick responses were not detrimental to anything. My only other criticism would be the food planning. We didn't know when we signed the contract that food tastings were not available not even for the cake that was included. As my mother and a few of our guests are vegan, I was really hoping to be able to try things and make sure they would be able to eat well and enjoy all aspects of our wedding. Even with slight changes we requested, there were no vegan options during cocktail hour. Nevertheless, our wedding day was absolutely perfect thanks to Linda and her team at Frungillo. read more

My daughter's baby shower was held at The Falls and we could not have been more pleased that we decided to use this facility. The shower was initially supposed to take place during the snow and ice storm that never happened(Jan 20) and since a state of emergency was declared, I had to postpone the shower until the following weekend. The staff was very understanding with my decision and did everything they could to accommodate me. The shower turned out to be just wonderful and I have had nothing but positive feedback from my guests regarding the staff, the food and the facility. Part 2 of 2 BRIDES BEWARE!!! (Posting second for my wife) Laura spoke like she was better than everyone. Our "conversation" got to the point where I was so frustrated and couldn't get two words out without her cutting me off, and saying "are you done yet?"...so I had to hang up. Money issues aside, this is just poor business. So I emailed Robert Frungillo, who is one of the owners of the company to explain the situation and express my concern. I never received a response. Six days before I'm getting married and now I'm beyond frustrated. My husband was also frustrated at seeing me being treated like this, so he decided to call Ed and speak with him directly. No answer. He tried calling twice in two days, and left messages both times. On the second day Ed finally texted him and said he had an event but he would call the following day. We waited all day for the call, Nothing. He finally called on the fourth day (now two days before the wedding!) since we were supposed to meet that evening and drop off decorations at the mansion. He apologized for the mistake and for my frustration, but nothing was resolved. Now it's the day before the wedding and still, nothing is resolved! At this point I'm not even sure if I'm having a ceremony! We show up early for the rehearsal expecting to set up a few items to our liking, only to find that the mansion was a mess! No decorations were in their place, and the tent wasn't even set up with our tables. Ed barely greeted us or our families as we entered the mansion. It was obvious there was tension. My mom and mother in law had to introduce themselves to Ed. They also wanted to address an issue in the tent, since our event was in August and it was hot, and we were informed about a month out that we were no longer allowed to open the sides of the tent for ventilation. So we ended up renting several air conditioners since we had elderly guests who wouldn't be able to handle the heat. As it turns out, the mansion was not able to power the ac units, as they kept tripping fuses. Ultimately this was a waste and is something that frungillo should fix if they plan on holding events there in the summer months. As our bridal party was arriving for the rehearsal, we were scrambling all over the place setting up our decorations. We finally were rushed through our rehearsal, because he had another party coming after us to look at the mansion. After our rehearsal, everyone left to go to dinner, but my husband and I stayed behind to continue setting up while Ed had once again put us on the back burner to accommodate another event. We missed our rehearsal dinner. We finally left, in tears, completely overwhelmed and frustrated, after Ed reappeared and promised he would take care of everything. Nothing about our additional payment was mentioned. At 11:56pm, four minutes before the day of our wedding, I received an email from Ed stating that he would have to charge my credit card on file for this additional payment. I kept an eye on my statements, and nothing was charged. The morning of the wedding my husband went to the mansion to make sure everything was in order. This is where Frungillo has earned their stars. We were pleasantly surprised with how hard the staff has worked to pull our event together, and our day ended up being wonderful! The food was incredible, and the wait staff was very attentive. Our wedding day was nearly perfect, aside from this underlying issue still lingering. But my husband and I decided to try to forget it for the day and just have fun. Two weeks after the wedding: we haven't heard a word from Ed, Laura, Robert, or anyone from Frungillo. But I noticed an unapproved charge on my credit card for the additional payment. For those of you who don't know, this action is ILLEGAL. You are not allowed to charge someone's card without their permission! They did not receive verbal or written consent to charge my card. My husband and I paid for this wedding ourselves and view it as an investment. Being on a tight budget as it is, Frungillo and all of their employees have no right to assume our financial status and assume they can just charge my card. What if it had maxed out? And why are you charging it two weeks after the event, and without reaching out to me first? To me, this is suspicious activity. It is not about the money, but their approach. Their unwillingness to work with me to find a resolution for THEIR mistake made less than a week before the wedding, and accusing me when I am the paying customer. Not only are they unprofessional and unreliable, but as a bride I have been robbed of every bridal experience, thanks to them. read more

We recently had our wedding at Skylands Manor and worked with Linda and Frungillo Caterers. Linda is awesome to work with because she has everything under control, is super organized and flexible. It ended up raining on our special day so Linda made the inside space very romantic and intimate. Besides that, the venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and there was a good amount of food and spirits offered to our guests. We really had the best time at our wedding and loved all the small details that made this the perfect venue. I highly recommend Skylands Manor if you are looking to have a unique wedding space that exudes romance. read more

Part 1 of 2. BRIDES BEWARE!!! This is a long review, but if you are considering Oakeside Mansion and Frungillo Caterers I hope you can take a minute to read through. I don't want another bride to ever have to go through what I did. I want to start off my saying that Oakeside Mansion is a beautiful venue, and everything I had imagined for my wedding day. From the first moment that my now husband and I visited the mansion, we knew this was where we wanted to get married, especially since we wanted to include our dog in our ceremony and the mansion allowed us to do that. We had worked with Inez Recio from Frungillo who was such a delight! I did my research before booking and read so many great reviews on Inez, so I was confident in my choice of venue and caterer. However, Inez left the company a few months after my contract was signed, and that's when everything changed. I received a letter from Frungillo Caterers letting me know that Inez was leaving and that we would now be working with Ed Esposito. A couple months after receiving this letter I decided to reach out to Ed since I had not heard from him yet, and I knew my next payment would be due soon. So I introduced myself and asked if we could meet to discuss my wedding vision, and inquired about my next payment, asking for a breakdown of how the calculations were made, for example where the service fee and tax are included (just for my own budget). Within a few days Ed responded to set up a meeting and said that the invoice would be sent out the following month before it was due. The next day I received the invoice via email from Laura Kingsbury, who I guess deals with the billing for the company. Since my payment plan was supposed to be 25% (of the minimum guest count) initial deposit, 25% second payment, and the final remaining payment 2 weeks prior to the wedding date, I assumed the second payment would be equal to my first payment, which had been calculated to the penny and broken down by Inez when I signed the contract. However, this second payment was about $70 more, so I asked Laura why that would be, and asked again for a breakdown. After several emails back and forth, asking for a breakdown, she was unable to provide it and told me "it would all work out in the end". With the payment now coming due, I decided to pay it. For the next 6 months leading up to the wedding, there was very little communication from Ed. I had to set up every meeting and continuously ask for a breakdown of the payments with each email, and my husband and I felt like we were constantly on the back burner. I was very understanding of this, considering there are other events that take precedence when my event is still months away. However, this never changed even up until the week of my event. The real problem began 6 days before my wedding. Wedding week!! This should be the most enjoyable time of every bride and grooms life! All final payments are made, and now you get to sit back, relax, and enjoy each other and your families as you are just days away from starting this new chapter of your lives! This was not the case for us. I paid my final payment to Frungillo on time, two weeks before the event date. But six days before my wedding I received an "encore" bill for over $1400. They forgot to account for my ceremony fee (and a few smaller items which were discussed in great detail). How could they forget to account for my ceremony? Its kind of an important factor in planning a wedding. Now I understand that not everyone has their ceremony at the venue, but we had discussed our ceremony at length with both Inez and Ed, so there was no excuse. I responded to Ed and voiced my frustration and concern with this error, less than a week before my wedding. That afternoon I received a call from Laura, which I missed because I was at work. She left a voice mail and asked "how would you like to pay for this, check or credit?" I was annoyed with this message because it seemed unprofessional. But still not hearing a response from Ed, I decided to give her a call back and discuss the situation. I started off by saying that I was a little confused as to how a mistake like this could slip through the cracks. I could barely get a sentence out before she cut me off and said "well YOU never told me you were having a ceremony" ...as if that was my responsibility. I was baffled. Laura was beyond rude. She yelled at me and made me feel belittled for HER mistake. As a paying customer, a bride, and a person, no one should ever be spoken to the way that she spoke to me. I had reminded her of all the times that I had emailed her and asked for a breakdown of the payments, where I could've found the mistake months in advance, and she told me her computer system didn't work that way and she would've had to break it down on paper (you know, like I did for my own budget). read more

The function held for the Judiciary volunteers could not have been any worse from a food perspective. The room and surroundings are all very nice. However, when several of us asked for something other than the standard "Chicken something-or-other" that was the pre=planned offering, we were advised by the very curt wait staff was that there were no alternatives. "That's all we have" was the answer. The group was over three hundred and I know we were not the only ones not interested in chicken. I asked again for "anything vegetarian" or "fish" as an alternative. The finally came with a plan of green beans and carrots. That's it!! Very unappetizing. It isn't hard to do a pasta or stir fry vegetarian alternative. I expected a bit more for a place that has the supposed class of the Villa. I would expect that the kitchen staff prides themselves in their work and am very disappointed that they could not come up with something a little more appetizing than beans and carrots. Next time, I will inquire ahead of time before attending an event at the Villa. read more

It is with great pleasure that I write this review about my daughter's wedding at the Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center in Bloomfield, NJ. From the very beginning with the planning and through the execution of the event, it was a truly wonderful event. The coordinator, Inez, was a true professional handling all the details in an organized and efficient manner. The bride and groom were impressed and relaxed as Inez, along with her very capable staff, provided them with guidance and care to ensure that their day was to be very special and long remembered by them. The venue was beautiful and the gardens were perfect for the many pictures taken and even though the ceremony needed to be indoors because of the changeable weather, it worked out very well and the gardens were used later in the day. The tent where the reception was held was amazing and all the guests commented on how pleasant it was. The upstairs rooms for the bridal party and for babysitting was a blessing. The dancing area was more than adequate for the crowd who enjoyed the music. The buffet was excellent with a large variety of choices and the wait staff was friendly and very accommodating. Gallagher's Liquors who provided the drinks did a great job as did their servers. The whole event went off beautifully and the bride and groom and their families and friends had a marvelous day. Our daughter's wedding was held at The Oakside Mansion. We had many friends and family fly up for the wedding and we were concerned about what the service, the food, and the presentation would be like being we were going only on the written reviews. We were pleasantly surprised. The wedding reception was a major success. Our guests raved about the entire evening. We had an 1 1/2 hr. happy hour. The stations were set up in the home and on the wrap around porch. What an impressive display! All the food was fresh,hot, and delicious. The dinner was also excellent. The Chilean Sea Bass was generous and well prepared. The Filet was tender and ample. We went to the mansion earlier the day of the wedding. The staff was setting up the tables and was prepping in the kitchen and around the mansion, as to my daughter's previous directions. They followed her plan, but I noticed the floors in the dining room needed to be swept more thoroughly. I asked for a broom and swept the floor. I also had the staff reclean all the glasses and dinner plates. The staff very graciously did as I asked, but if I had not come earlier, the issues I mentioned would not have been addressed. When there is a function the previous day, better cleaning needs to be done. They need an industrial broom and a leaf blower to do a more thorough job of cleaning up the grounds and floors. I also checked the dinner chairs. I borrowed scissors and cut many stray threads hanging from the seats and found a broken seat which was quickly replaced. The same goes for the chairs used for a garden wedding ceremony., some are in bad shape. The last minute we found a trellis placed where the ceremony was to be held, but if we had known ahead of time that a trellis would be provided, we would not have had to pay for an alternate from the florist. That is where communication prior to the wedding is crucial. The staff was terrific during the reception and happily catered to our requests. We were given all the leftovers wrapped and ready to take home. I would recommend Frungillo Caterers. Our guests are still talking about the food and the presentation. My daughter did not have a wedding planner, but she worked closely with her vendors and her wedding and theme were carried out as near to perfect as one could hope to have for her special day. read more

We had our wedding at the Oakeside Mansion on November. Overall the event went well and the venue was beautiful, in particular the cocktail hour. The price was very reasonable and being BYOB allowed us to get a "premium" open bar at minimal cost. Main complaint was generally little response/communication, especially afterwards where there was an issue with an extra food station that our maitre di had included but did not communicate to the accounting department and this lasted for a month. Once the general manager of Frungillo got involved the matter was resolved quickly. However, this ended up leaving a bad taste in what otherwise was a very lovely evening. read more

Throughout the year leading up to our wedding day we had numerous problems with our assigned wedding planner from Frungillo. He was generally non communicative, lost the information we provided him, and did not seem to know what he was doing. We were left to figure out a lot on our own. After receiving the incorrect flavor wedding cake we reached out to Robert, the owner of the company. Luckily, he was very accommodating and listened to our complaints about what went wrong on our wedding day. In the end, he offered to make us the correct wedding cake so that we could enjoy that on our first anniversary. read more

We got married at the Oakeside Mansion in Bloomfield on 5/1/2016. It was absolutely love at first sight when we were looking for places to have a rustic, elegant wedding with an outdoor ceremony. We wanted to have a unique venue for our wedding (not a typical NJ wedding) and this was exactly what we were looking for. The mansion is beautiful, inviting, intimate, and everyone felt at home. We had our cocktail hour in the mansion and were able to add our own personal touches to it and decorate like it was our own home. Our reception was in the huge tent in the yard and it was perfect! Very large but cozy and intimate at the same time. Everything was decorated to perfection and exactly how I envisioned. We worked with Inez who is absolutely amazing. She answered my many many emails promptly and was extremely calm, professional, and a huge help. I went there the day before with huge boxes of decorations and an outline and floor plan of what I wanted for my wedding and she understood and executed exactly how I would have. Our wedding would not have been such a success without her. She always made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. We were supposed to have an outside ceremony but it was raining (which was our worst nightmare) but she seamlessly transitioned the ceremony into the Solarium Room and put my mind at ease and avoided what could have been a disaster. We chose the buffet dinner and got rave reviews on all the food that was served and there was plenty of it! We also got our wedding cake through Frungillo and it was exactly what I wanted and delicious, they use buttercream icing,not fondant. We were so happy that we chose Oakeside Mansion and Frungillo Caterers. Everything was perfect and the staff went above and beyond to make sure that it was. Have been there numerous times over the years for multiple events and it was good. However, the other night the food was better than it had been in the past. I found out they have a new Chef and you can tell. This place is a real nice place to hold a function, service is good, grounds are nice as it the decor inside and now the food is so much better. Not only was the place lovely, but that one local had a planner who worked just there and not at the other Frungillo places, and she was a cut above anything else I'd seen while location scouting. Had we wanted a wedding planner (we didn't and still do not) we would have asked her no matter where we booked, and I would recommend her to anyone. But the Oakside is right next to a highway, and since we would have had to get married in November to get their lower rates, we couldn't count on leaves being on the trees to block the view, or (god forbid) the noise of the cars on the freeway. And the event tent smelled bad, and has no AC options. read more

My husband and I are from New Jersey but currently live in New Orleans, LA. We had our eye on Oakeside Mansion as a venue for the longest and for good reason! The grounds lend themselves to beautiful backdrop to our New Orleans themed wedding. And when New Orleans-like showers threatened to dampen our day, the on-site coordinator, Inez Recio masterfully saved the day by moving our venue in the reception tent. Inez and team even went above and beyond when our second line band became fearful of their instruments getting wet. Inez and Oakeside staff held umbrella's over each band member's head to protect the instruments! During the dinner the staff was attentive and even though Greg and I danced more than we ate, Inez made sure our drinks were filled and plates full. How can I even put into words how AMAZING they were. I recently had my sons baptism at Oakeside Mansion and Frungillo's Catering was the best. I am an avid party planner and am totally OCD when it comes to the parties I throw for my family and for others. This happened to be my first child's affair so therefore it was EXTRA SPECIAL to me and my family and let me tell you, INEZ WAS THE MOST AMAZING HOSTESS AND MANAGER EVER. She made me feel at ease and made sure that everything went off without a hitch. I was texting her the week of the event and if I was her I would have screamed, lol but she just kept reassuring me that everything would be perfect and let me tell you it was. I would recommend Frungillo's Catering to anyone that needs a wow factor. The food was amazing as well. I was not looking for the typical fare. I had a stations menu and let me tell you it was unbelievable. First when guest arrived they were greeted with the most amazing bar tender who was way on top of his game. He even made my signature drink to a T!!! Next guest were introduced to an amazing Tuscan station with everything from veggies to stuffed artisan breads. Once everyone arrived the other stations opened. There was a chef manned Crepe station with everything from sweet strawberry crepes made to order to seafood crepes. They were to die for. Next, we did a carving station. The carving station consisted of Pastrami (which by the way was the best pastrami I have ever had), with fresh rolls and the most amazing deli mustard, there was also a turkey dinner carving station with all the fixings. I don't want to even stop writing about them. I was just amazed and totally relieved that I have found a caterer that I can fully trust and know that they will do everything to make my events amazing.
