I experience significant pain from having spinal surgery and was moved here after a couple of days at the Douglas Hospital. Dr. Nitin Bhatia did an amazing job stabilizing my back (no small feat) and now all the workers here at the ARU Division of UCI Medical Center are working round the clock to make the healing process move right along with the best care ordered by my doctors & nurses, I wish I could rate ARU an extra star because of the level of care I've been given. Every person, be they doctors, nurses, staff, aids, food service, cleaning, etc., I came in contact with was courteous and professional. There was one area that was disappointing. The food. Everything tasted as if came packaged. Nothing tasted fresh. After two full days of laying in my bed, I was taken to the physical rehab area, The therapists showed much compassion as they were working with people that had severely compromised health conditions. One of the therapists asked me, "Why are you here?". My condition did not require me being placed in such a high need facility. I arrived on Tuesday afternoon. I checked myself out on Friday afternoon.
