Wow so this review is long overdue. James is not only an absolute magician but a total sweetheart. Aside from being one of the coolest people I know he's a whiz with sound and security systems! He transformed my house from a house with speakers to an entertainment hot spot. Roman and Clint were FANTASTIC!!! They came by inspected our home and verified if our current equipment could be used or not , some equipment was able to be used with the newer system which saved us some money , I got a quote , I called the office the woman on the phone was so sweet . I called around for 3 different co. estimates for my simple network/speaker cable routing and two mounted TVs project. I sought out Smart AV to do some simple cable tv installation. James and Laura are super professional and took on the job. We decided to add a couple additional features so our home, built in the 40s, would be up to date and also be equipped for the future. James' team removed the old cabling and installed beautiful new outlets for high speed Ethernet and cable, along with wireless access points throughout the house. I recently moved into a new home that was sold with smart home technology already in place. I recently hired Modern Homme by Smart AV to close up a niche and install a tv and sound bar. Roman and his coworkers showed up promptly for my appointment. After showing them the niche they were going to close up and install my equipment on, Roman came up with a better idea for closing up the niche. This recommendation enabled the tv to be flat against the wall rather than extending out into the room due to the tv mount. After a couple of hours the niche was enclosed and the tv was mounted. An issue we ran into was mounting my sound bar below the tv due to its weight. Roman and his team were able to think "outside the box" and solved the problem which made me very happy. We were ecstatic with the result of James' efficient resolution of our frustrating issues with inconsistent reception on our Blu Ray and Apple TV. We now have just one universal remote (instead of five) for seamless transitions and uninterrupted viewing. "No internet connection" is now a thing of the past while watching a Netflix video or listening to Pandora. Miracles happen! James really knows his stuff. I called AIS because our wireless network was just terrible. Up till now we have had parts of the house that had little to no signal. It was driving my family nuts. Their technician James came in and did a site survey, 10 mins later he gave me his recommendations. Once I decided on the system I wanted he schedule an installation 2 days later. James came back on the scheduled day on time and went right to work. The Network was running great for weeks then we started to drop off again. I called AIS and they immediately scheduled to have James come take another look at the network. After about 15 mins of testing he decided to replace the new router with a 2nd unit. He felt that the 1st router could have had some issues. Since then we have had zero issues and our network is super fast. It has never been this good before and streaming video is no longer an issue in any part of the house. James and Mark did an amazing job adding Wifi access points and ethernet lines to our home! Since moving in 11 months ago we have been frustrated by slow to non-existent internet service in some areas, and unable to use our Apple TV and smart TV because the wireless would not reach through old lath and plaster walls. James came to check out it and said the wireless access points would fix our wifi problems....and hard wire would be the ultimate additional solution for the TVs. They worked with my contractor husband (who was very impressed with their work) to find the best wire runs and also helped us identify old wires that were no longer in use. They left the system working and the work spaces clean. James left us his direct phone number to call if we had any questions or issues and told us they guarantee their work. Last night we were able to watch a movie on Netflix, my husband's laptop internet was working at rapid speed, our Echo did not short out in the middle of the daily Jeopardy game, and we are very happy campers! I spoke to another tech guy in San Diego who said it is hard to find businesses that will trouble shoot and run the ethernet wiring.
