I am changing my review they asked me to do since they are trying to bill be for procedures they said my insurance covered and now they are saying they don't cover it. My insurance says I am not liable for the charges but it looks like it's going to be a fight since subsequent discussions fell on mute ears. If it ends up it is not a fight. Dr. Vengulekar treated me for low back pain ten years ago, after I had had a major fall resulting in 3 herniated discs. After having been in bed for months, selective root sleeve injections and a nerve ablation procedure left me completely pain free. I have been able to hike, swim, play tennis, and resume a physically active life. When low back pain returned on the opposite side, I was able to be scheduled quickly for an MRI, an office visit, and a procedure. I have every expectation that I will be restored to a pain-free life. Dr. V is straightforward and kind. His office staff, too, is wonderful. I have referred many people to this doctor. read more

This doctor is terrible...I saw him a few years ago ...he was pushy ...he wasn't very nice and then eight months later tried to bill me something that he shouldn't have billed me for ... and that is per the insurance company. I've been fighting for over two years with the collection agency and credit bureau because of him. I refuse to pay some thing that I should not pay for. I suggest to go someplace else....He sent me for an MRI of my knee which my orthopedic surgeon thought was ridiculous because it was already full of metal.... And he was very rude and arrogant.....Multiple times I asked for documentation to state why they are requesting all the money they said I owed and I never received anything and I'm still fighting this battle at almost 3 years later....... read more

Dr. Vengurlekar has helped me with back pain management since 2016. My first encounter solved the pain I had on the right side lower back and I didn't need to return until 2019 to solve the left side. Dr. V was good at explaining my issue and the procedure to relieve my pain. His office contacted me after each procedure to be sure I was doing well, any problems or questions. Dr V has been a big help to me. I have seen him for sciatica pain as well as shoulder pain. I've had the injection cocktail and RFA as well with tremendous results. The staff is friendly, professional, and demonstrates kindness. The facilities are clean and tidy. The wait time for appointments is reasonable as well as procedure wait times. I've recommended Dr V to many people and will continue to do so! While there are other Dr's closer to my home, I've not found the same quality of results. It's well worth the schedule coordination and travel time to ensure that I receive the best care for my pain condition. Dr. Vengurlekar is excellent! He was able to diagnose my back and neck issue at the first visit. Staff is friendly and made me an appointment the next day. I had my procedure the same week. My issues were taken care of and I'm feeling great! He has also taken care of several family members with good results. I would recommend him to anyone with pain issues. I saw  Dr. Vengurlekar a few years back, I had a bulging disc. I went in for injections and had bad results after each treatment. He would never speak to me when I addressed these issues with him, would only speak to my husband. After the injections, my legs would be paralyzed for some time. After the 3rd injection, I went home and felt like someone was hitting me in the knees with a baseball bat. I was screaming so bad, my kids were scared and called 911. I spent hours in ER screaming, with doctors giving me all Torres of pain killers. They had asked what was going on. I told them the only thing I could think of is having the injection that day. They called  Dr. Vengurlekar and asked about it, he said I didn't have an injection! Took me months to heal. I never went back to him. Saw another specialist who told me I should have never had three injections that close in time. I was given a Tens unit, which worked wonders. I definitely would never recommend  Dr. Vengurlekar. read more

Quick Summary: Imaging walking out of the procedure room after having torn up L4, L5, and S1 ... and having no pain when only 15 minutes prior you cried inching your way to the office... I am in the healthcare industry and work with a lot of different pain doctors. When my partner hurt his back and couldn't get out of pain - Dr. V was the only person I would even consider taking him to. Sure enough - with a selective nerve injection - a 15 minute, non-invasive procedure (non-invasive procedure = no cuts in the skin at all - not to be confused with minimally invasive) he was able to walk out of the office, where he couldn't even get out of bed to use the restroom without tears (and he is a very tough man). Anyway, I wish more people knew he existed bc his training in trauma, cardiothoracic surgery, and anesthesiology are VERY unique. I've never seen anyone with a torn up L4, L5, and S1 recover that quickly. Against the doctors wishes, he was back in the gym a week later - that's how unbelievable this doctor is. So if you didn't know - there are options that don't involve surgery out there that actually work. He is literally the best-kept secret for anyone in back or any joint pain and I hope anyone with pain tries seeing him before jumping into surgery! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND read more

The staff was very friendly and helpful. However my visit was a waste of time. I have Cigna through my work. I made an appointment. Took time off work to be seen. Only to be told that Cigna hasnt paid the doctor in over 3 years. (The doctor told me this). As he was skimming through my chart..He then told me since i was there he would go ahead and see me. I was sent to this doctor by my cigna case management department. It not only put me in an akward position, it left me with an extreme sense of hopelessness. Its a sad shame the way the insurances dictate where to go and yet wont pay these providers that are under contract with them. I see no hope for the future of medical care vs insurance dictation. read more

I was referred to Dr. Vengurlekar and have to say the treatments were a BIG help. I have had back issues for many years. I stuck to physical therapy, exercise and weight loss regimes but my back issues would always come back. After meeting with Dr. V, I found out I had multiple herniated disks and some small tears. I have had 3 treatments in March 2018 and have to say I am very grateful I went to him. I am able to get out of bed pain free for the first time in over 2 years. I would refer him to anyone looking for a new option to fix any back issues they may have. read more

While he may be knowledgeable and have the tools to treat pain, he is extremely rude and does not accept opinions or recommendations on how to treat. I'm a first medical school student with enough knowledge to understand the anatomy of my pain. I asked him to include a C3 injection and he stated "if you don't like what I'm doing you can go see someone else." All I did was ask. Then for my follow up he walks into the room and starts calling me arrogant and disrespectful and that I have no idea what I'm talking about. I told him I was just trying to help him understand where my pain was and he said "I don't need you to tell me where your pain is." Uhmmm excuse me? Last time I checked, this was my body not his. He then proceeded to tell me I needed to see my psychiatrist and have my medications checked. When I began to tear up he told me to quit and to leave his office and that he would be discharging me as his patient. I was so appalled and hurt by the horrid things he said to me. He completely shut me down and pushed me aside. I never once tried to correct him (I just want the pain to go away). Please do not see this terrible man. I did nothing to deserve the terrible things he said to me, nobody does. Save your time and go see someone who really does care and truly wants to help. All Dr. V wants to do is receive more awards and get more recognition for the procedures he offers. read more

After getting nothing but grief from The Pain Center of Arizona (useless procedures, constant unprofessionalism, the incessant pushing of pain pills) I knew I had to find another option. I had 3 procedures and zero relief. After some research, I found Dr. V and his office. He is a miracle worker and I don't say that lightly. I sought treatment from him for broken vertebrae in my lower back which was causing pain, tingling and numbness in my hips and into my feet. I began seeing him in May of 2017 and my initial consultation alone between paperwork and speaking with him was a few hours because he took the time to speak with me and understand why I was seeking treatment with him. It was THAT in-depth. The office staff (between Michele and Jackie and the rest) are top notch. They know you by name and actually take care of you. I had numerous procedures between May and December of 2017 and I feel like I have my life back. My pain level is down at least 70%, I am standing straighter, I've been able to get active again and lose 25 pounds. And this is ALL WITH ZERO NARCOTICS. I am at the point where he released me from treatment in December and told me to "call me if I need him". I know I will need him here and there because I will never be 100% pain free but to know that I have him in my corner and that I will actually see relief when I need it most is truly a Godsend. I've seen a lot of doctors in my lifetime and he is, by far, the most brilliant I've ever met. read more
