Clay was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. At our wedding celebration he set up the sound system for the ceremony and speeches, served as the MC for the day, and of course provided music for the whole event. In general he stayed in the background, but also would step in as the MC to direct the room as needed. We chose to work with him because we could tell he was experienced and we really just enjoyed talking to him on the phone. That part is important because we had quite a few COVID delays in our wedding planning and it was nearly 3 years from the first contact to the day of our wedding celebration - I'm glad we chose someone we liked talking to! I wanted to wait until after the 1 year mark of our wedding anniversary to write this review as to put my experience into perspective. First of all, I love to promote family owned, local business. I did not have any expectation Premier Productions would win an Oscar for filming our special wedding day. In fact, we were not planning on having it filmed. Last minute, we made a decision to hire them as to share the special day with my Grandparents who were unable to attend. The completed project was amateurish, and my communications with the owners during the process was like dealing with someone new to the business world, and only added unnecessary stress to the event. If you are looking for a very professional, sleek, video that captures many facets of your wonderful day - I would not recommend Premier Productions. Following the event, the communication was also challenging. They claimed to be at an event when they did not reply to our messages for over a week. It would have been helpful if they had at the very least, an out of office message letting us know so that we did not feel left 'hanging'. WOW. Ask for Clay Mitchell and you will have the exact opposite experience as Emily did. And as I've learned, that review doesn't tell the whole story. Apparently the bride won a package deal that included four hours of service, and when she asked for more, the DJ happily complied and repeatedly tried to go over the additional payment structure way in advance of the wedding... to no avail. David still showed up and did the four hours...and ended up staying until the end with zero payment. We hired Clay from Premier Productions after he DJ'ed my husband's brother's wedding 3 years ago. He was the consummate professional. He essentially emcees the entire wedding (as any good DJ does). We met with him twice to go over our timeline and our song choices. He even gave us the idea for our first dance--to surprise everyone with a slow dance and then bust into a fun mini-choreographed number. The guests LOVED it. And we thought Clay was absolutely fantastic. He was so helpful; he even brought us some hors d'oeuvres while we were taking pictures with our bridal party. Clay handled the ceremony music, cocktail hour, dinner music, and the dancing and he was flawless. He has a great presence and very strong voice. He was not cheesy or dorky; he was very classy and kept the tone of our wedding fun and sophisticated. He also kept us on time with our wedding timeline and stayed an hour overtime (asking us discreetly to make sure that was OK). They just billed us a couple weeks later for the difference. We discussed all of our costs up front and had no problems with any surprises. Picking wedding vendors is incredibly stressful, and, as you know from the many dull weddings I am sure you have attended, the DJ makes the party. Clay was always up front with us about costs. If you are grappling over a couple hundred bucks between Clay and another DJ, pick Clay. He will earn the difference. His professionalism was impeccable. He was always on time for all of our meetings and was quick to reply to my (admittedly many) calls and emails. One huge benefit for us was that we sat down with him and went through songs, one-by-one, telling him "NO!" when a song we didn't like/want came on. The music at our wedding rocked, and we have Clay to thank for it. As the previous reviewer mentioned, Clay will all but run your show. He personally spoke with us several times to make sure we were keeping to our timeline (which, by the way, he helped us create). Prior to booking, we spoke with one of the servers from our catering company, asking her what she thought about various DJ's. She rolled her eyes and said that most of them "kept to their station" and wouldn't leave from behind their table "for any reason." Clay, she told us, was just the opposite. He works with the party to keep it lively and fun. She was right. Please, do yourself a favor and check this guy out. In all seriousness, Clay was amazing. We threw him a little bit of a curveball when we told him we needed half the playlist to be in Spanish but he handled it like the pro that he is. We hired Clay from Premier Productions to DJ our wedding at the Jack London Lodge in Glen Ellen. From the very start, Clay was professional, helpful, and most important of all, fun to work with! What stood out from the beginning was that Clay went the extra mile to accommodate our work schedules and the fact that we lived over an hour away. He met us on evenings and on his precious weekends without ever making us feel bad about it either. We had several meetings leading up to the wedding so that we were always on the same page, aware of costs and procedures, and could work together to build a fun vibe for the wedding. Also, Clay and his wife are great dancers and gave my husband and I a brief dance lesson so that we wouldn't look like fools during the first dance. My husband and I both have two left feet. My husband and I recently used Premier Productions as the DJ for our wedding and could not have been happier. We worked with Jay Pacheco and were thrilled by his professionalism and wonderful attitude. Working with Jay made the planning process so much easier, he was always willing to suggest songs for specific moments when we were stuck and helped to guide us in selecting perfect music that we got compliments on all night. He also helped to create our day-of timeline, which I was then able to provide to our other vendors. Jay was always willing to meet or talk on the phone during the planning process and was quick to respond to all of my emails. On the day of our wedding, Jay was invaluable. At every key timeline moment he was there to gently remind us of where we needed to be headed, without any break in the music (and even came and found me to make sure that I didn't miss the last dance song). My favorite thing about Jay is that he isn't one of those "cheesy" DJs. My husband was initially hesitant about hiring a DJ over a band because we have been to so many events where the DJ was constantly on the mic, cracking jokes or talking for no good reason and it just kills the atmosphere. Jay only made the announcements that we asked him to make and was a complete professional and also made sure that the music matched the mood of the guests, while still ensuring that our key songs and genres were played. WORST DJ EVER! I would give Cirkl Productions and Premiere Productions less then 1 star if that was possible. Cirkl convinced me to use Premiere Productions her husband David's company as my DJ. They run their wedding planning /DJ buisness out of a spare bedroom in their house. On the day of my wedding Cirkl cornered me with her husband David, the DJ and asked me for another $700.00. Cirkl and David told me that David would leave if I did not pay him the additional $700.00 they said that his services did not go until the end of the wedding and that I would have to pay him $700.00 in overtime for him to stay. Cirkl was my wedding planner she knew what time my wedding ended as did her husband/DJ. We had planned the music to end at 11:30PM the entire time and they knew that. Not even once did they mention the extra charges until the night of wedding. They kept persisting and eventually brought me to tears in the middle of my wedding, all of the guests knew what was going on, it was awful. Hiring Clay as our DJ was a fantastic decision. Early on, I spoke with him on the phone and he was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and organized. He helped me understand that in addition to playing the music, he would ensure the flow of the evening through collaboration with my coordinator and he did just that and more. On our big day, he was completely relaxed, assisted with moving our guests from one area of the venue to another seamlessly and brought sound systems that even my husband (the music man!) approved of. Several of my guests took me aside throughout the evening asking where we found him and commented on what a great demeanor he had (not cheesy like so many other DJ's out there). He played the music we requested for the dance party and selected great songs in the genre we chose for the other portions of the evening. We had some pretty specific and unusual needs for our wedding as the venue had several separate outdoor spaces, but this was no problem at all for Clay. Additionally, it RAINED for two hours before and one hour during the wedding, but he was able to handle all of these challenges with ease. His knowledge of music is EXTENSIVE and he had perfect suggestions of what types of songs to use for every part of the ceremony and reception. I planned my wedding from out of town, so scheduling vendor meetings on the weekends was a must. Clay was able to fit me into his schedule on multiple occasions and was always prepared with background knowledge of our specific event. Clay at Premier is one of the best in the business. He did such a great job my wife's sister booked him for her wedding the day after ours to make sure he wasn't booked! That is a true story. Anyways, we did our homework on all of our vendors and we landed on Clay! Hands down the best decision we made. He was responsive in the early stages, listened to us and gave us suggestions in areas we needed (as we aren't DJ's ourselves). I wanted to reply to the story about premier productions "making" a bride use their videographer after she had already booked one through her photographer. This was not premier productions doing. I am the bride that they are talking about, and it was a communication error on MY part. It had nothing to do with premier productions persuading me to use them over my photographer. We had the pleasure to have Jay as our DJ for our wedding last weekend. He was amazing! He did all the things that were expected of him: play the music we like, don't play the music we don't like. That's easy. But Jay went above and beyond, and took it upon himself to be a sort of, day-of coordinator. From the beginning, during the consultations, Jay helped us create a schedule for the day-of and helped us time out everything that needed to be done that day. This was extremely helpful since we were planning this wedding ourselves and didn't have a wedding planner/coordinator. From start to finish he made sure we were comfortable and things were going the way we wanted. He checked in on us now and again to make sure there wasn't anything we needed, even if it was a drink. He acted as the middleman so that we, as the bride and groom, didn't have to worry about anything. We had an incident with the venue originally saying they could play music off our ipod, but then not being able to. One year after our wedding we are still reveling in amazement for how epic our day was. This was in large part due to Clay Mitchell of Premier Productions, who helped us to develop the timeline, keep the energy of the crowd focused and energetic, and manage all the transitions of the day to keep it all positive, flowing, and smooth. Premier Productions made our wedding day unforgettable! Not only did David at Premier go out of his way to plan and coordinate several details of the wedding, he also provided us with a dance party that all of our guests enjoyed. Premier takes the time to have several consultations prior to the wedding to make sure the playlist for the wedding is truly customized to the couple (which was very important to my husband) and they also take the time to develop and map out a timeline for your entire event!
