I'm not even a tenant (thank goodness), but there are a number of "Premier Properties" in my neighborhood. Without exception, each and every one of them is a complete dump and an eyesore. 36 Highland Avenue in Somerville is a rat infested hell hole. Trash from their ever overflowing dumpster is constantly blowing around the neighborhood, and is a major source of rats in the area. The tenants are all lower class dirt bags who litter throughout the neighborhood as they walk around with their countless children. The noise from that building is offensive and, in general, they are a complete nuisance and disrespectful of their neighbors. SLUM! read more

I really do not know who else is working at the Premier Properties. However, I had been to the office twice and both times only Jerry Mello was there. Our experience with him was really wasteful and unpleasant. Jerry was very rude, arrogant, and not welcoming (I do not know if this was just us or not). We accidently filled information in the wrong box, which was not the end of the world. Yet, this Jerry was making such a fuss and gave us the look. SMH. We had wasted two weeks because the landlord was either "choose the other tenants" or "denied" our applications. It happened with the both applications we filed with Jerry. We have a good and stable work history with big company in the Boston area, which baffled me when my girlfriend and I were denied or not selected. In the end, I wasted $100 on application we filed with him ($25/app for my girlfriend and I), which deducted from the deposit I gave him, and my time. I later got a more expensive apartment no problem. Then again, it could be just me, nonetheless, I felt cheated. read more

Rented from them in Providence, Rhode Island. Was great to work with in the beginning. Come winter the downstairs neighbors moved out and our gas bill skyrocketed. I asked them to come check it out and they brushed it off. A few months later when the unit below us was occupied, the bill was cut in half again. When we moved out nobody ever contacted me about renewing the lease, which we were not going to do, and when we asked about the security deposit they tried charging us for boxes left in the basement from the tenant who's gas bill we got stuck with, nail holes in the wall which were there when we moved in, we had patched up the holes we did leave but there wasn't any paint left so we were charged for patching up our own holes, and we were charged $150 for a "cleaning fee", which we left the apartment how we found it, literally, except for the white patches on the wall. Do yourself a favor and rent an owner occupied apartment or from someone who owns a few of their own houses. Premier is just trying to make a buck any way they can. read more

I walked in and was ignored and when I asked for Andrew he was sitting by the door talking to other people and I was told he was behind me. Another Realtor took us to the apartment. I am writing to let you know that Premiere Properties Realty helped me in the most exceptional way. I am a community liaison in the city of Everett and have been looking tirelessly for an apartment for a family of six. I looked to all my resources and the most official real estate agents there is however due to this family's particular situation, even the best real estate agents could not help us. I was tired and have been searching for a month and a half. It was near Christmas time and the family still had not found an apartment. Before going to Premier Properties, we found an apartment and the landlord told them to come sign the papers to get the apartment the next day. However, on the way to sign the papers the following day, the landlord changed his mind. To make matters worse they already had given their notice to leave and the apartment was already rented out to new tenants. So they had no choice but to find an apartment. I remember we just finished looking at a house and the family left discouraged that is when I had an inclination to check out Premier Properties. I did not want to take the family with me so I went alone. I did not want them to be discouraged again. I initially was going to go to another place that was closer to home however when I asked for information on an apartment they were very rude so I said: "let me try Premier." I believe it was the first snow fall during Christmas and I walked in. I saw two guys sitting at a desk. The man by the name of Jerry welcomed me and asked how can he help me. I explained to him that I have been looking for an apartment for a family of six but could not find any and when I do find one it falls through. Jerry stated that he had an apartment but am I willing to come see it around 2:00pm? I said I had no problem. It was about 11:00am and I left said to Jerry, "please help me find this family a home and please let it be a nice home." Jerry informed me that it will be nice and for me not to worry. I made a call to the couple and at 2:00 we met with Jerry. Jerry showed us a humongous apartment house. The family stated that they loved the apartment house and Jerry said for us to meet back at the office. We filled out the paper work and he said he will let me know by the end of the day. I received a phone call around 6:00pm from Jerry stating that they got the apartment and they can come tomorrow to sign and bring the down payment and pick up the keys on Friday! I called the family and they were extremely happy! What we could not do in a month and a half, Premiere Properties helped us do in a day and that is only by the Grace of God that this happened! I am extremely honored to say that I enjoyed working with this office. I loved Jerry's honesty as well because I was looking at several apartments and asked him what he thought and he stated that he knew each landlord and what they expect and with this situation we needed a landlord that would understand the case and that is who we got! The family needed a landlord that would let them move in ASAP and they did and the landlord is extremely nice. Right now they are enjoying their home and loving it. They got more than what they asked for! I can never thank this office enough. I wish I could give this a "no star" rating!!! I saw a few postings on Craigslist from "Jerry". I called him and emailed him asking for showings. He said his car was in the shop but if I wanted to see them the following day I could pick him up at his office and drive him so he could show me. Sure, that's fine...I guess. So I showed uo the next day and the office was closed. So I waited for about 15 minutes then called "Jerry" (if that's even his real name) and left him a message that I was standing outside the office. Well, that was several days ago and I have yet to receive an email or a phone call apologizing for his extreme rudeness. The properties are continually reposted on Craigslist and I wonder how the actual owners would feel if they knew their properties could have already been rented with an amazing tenant...hmmm... My time is valuable and I don't appreciated it being wasted by rude unprofessional people. read more

Terrible. We found a place in Malden on craiglist. Dealt with these people, whose job was, I'm not sure, but they certainly made it harder for us to land the apartment. We did get the apartment, and have since moved, and I'm fighting now to get my deposit. Problems: - The agent I dealt with, Charles Alex, was nice but essentially senile. He needed to be told anything at least 3 times for it to really click, so I got many unnecessary phone calls. He almost crashed the car driving me two blocks to the apartment. - Circumlocution. The actual apartment owner was great. She told me I could get her the deposit in a regular check, but Charles wanted a cashiers check. This would have meant driving about 30 miles out of the way, for me to get that. He didn't make an exception. - Distrust. There was a fat guy, I can't remember his name, who accompanied Alex half the time. He stared at me unnervingly, quite often, especially when I was doing things related to making decisions. Like, when I was inspecting the apartment, he just sat and stared blankly at me. Weird, and awkward. They also got a little pushy when I couldn't "commit" to renting the property in the absence of my significant other. Outcome: Yes, we got the apartment, and we moved out as soon (actually, before), the lease expired. The neighborhood in Malden isn't great. Packages stolen off porch. Cinderblock dropped on hood of gf's car. That actually happened. The owner wasn't happy with the realtors either, so he got a new realtor. That realtor is now 5 weeks late on getting my deposit back, as well. We paid all 12 months in full, as well as first and last and the realtor's fee, and left the apartment in its original condition. That realtor can expect my wrath on Yelp, as well. And they will probably see me in court if I don't get that $1200 back. Thanks for everything, Malden. Smell you later. read more

I attempted to work with this group to find a place to live in Malden. The application was "denied" by the landlord, though I am well employed and have no negative indicators on my tenant history. Upon application to the apartment the fee, though refunded, was deducted $25, a $25 I was not informed would be deducted. Afterward maybe 2 more apartments were shown then the agent I was working with completely stopped communications despite my asking for help. I never heard back. Don't recommend using this place, unless you are leisurely looking for a place to live, which no one is. read more

If it were at all possible to rate this place a ZERO I would most definitely not hesitate to do so. Professionalism is not something that this office is accustomed to practicing. Starting from the "Office Manager" Henry. His lack of care and thought for his potential clients is null. Reading the other reviews about this place should have raised a flag, but I did not want to take anyone else's word for it. A company centered on finding a reasonable place to live should have certain attributes that should be appealing especially for a soon to be married couple. They will not have any type of recommendation from me. They have lost a client indefinitely. On a positive note, Andrew was semi knowledgeable in what was saying. Awful experience! If I could give minus stars, I would. I can only advise you, DO NOT work with Jerry Mello! He put a lot of pressure on me to make a quick decision to take the apartment because if I wouldn't, it would most likely be rented by someone else 2hrs later. It was a great place and had everything I was looking for, so I decided to take it. He took my deposit at the time of filling out the application (not the lease signing!), making all kinds of promises that I would definitely get the apartment because I was the first person to see it and it was first-come-first-serve and how lucky I was to get it so quickly...etc. He said he would confirm this with me within 24 hrs. He made me wait 3 days (!), only to tell me that the apartment has been given to someone else. I got a refund for my deposit, but lost the $10 fee for my check and $25 for the application fee. Plus I had to drive over an hour to Malden to get my money back.They are extremely unprofessional! Even their office looks shabby and disgusting (do not use their bathroom!). Also interesting: A former reviewer mentioned that Jerry asked him to drive to the apartment because his car was being repaired. He said the same thing to me (only a few weeks after that review was being written) and made me drive to the apartment. Great way to save on gas, Jerry! read more

I will start by saying that until speaking with Andrew Patterson at Premier Properties, finding a place to live in todays housing market was seemingly impossible. Within hours of hangin up with Andrew after our first conversation, my girfriend and I were viewing our future apartment. After deciding on where we wanted to move, Andrew made the transition as easy as possible. Andrew was completely transparant throughout the course of the signing process, a quality that most real estate agents do not embody. It was his ability to articulate what needed to be done in order for us to attain our new apartment that will make me a repeat customer of Andrew Patterson/Premier Properties. My Experience with Andrew Patterson was good. He was helpful, patient and dutiful. When I disliked a house with the cleanliness, few other things after moving in , the house owner gave me an option to move out with my security deposit , key deposit refunded back in 30 days (waiting for it), Andrew helped a lot in patiently communicating between me and the landlord. Terrible management. The apartment I lived in caught fire during spring break. I was not there and when I came back days later my apartment door was kicked in and dead bolted with no way to get in. No emails, no phone calls, nothing to let me know what had occurred and when/ if I would be allowed back in. They do not care about their residents. read more

I left a message at the main number, no call back. I drove by their office today (Monday) right before 10am, they weren't open. How do they run a legitimate business like this? I tried to view apartments through Premier Properties (I found a few places posted by Jerry on Craigslist)- TRIED being the key word here. My boyfriend and I made an appointment to view a specific one bedroom in Malden. Well, we showed up at the office. First, as we walked into the office, an older man who presumably also works at Premier, was mumbling unintelligible words to us... it was all very weird and awkward! Jerry then informed us that he had "a few places in mind" for us.. wait................................. WHAT? We had planned to view one specific apartment.... or at least I thought that was the plan. Nope. Jerry said he got the place rented that week. Have some common decency- he could have let us know ahead of time! He didn't even apologize- so unprofessional! He then said he would contact us about other places- we never heard from us. We kind of think he didn't want to work with us because we are younger and the bf has long hair. The office was a weird place, it had a bad vibe to it.
