So I started to search around to see who would be able to have my insurance cover it. Vista Physical Therapy in Alliance gave me a call back and let me know they accept my insurance and that it would be covered. So I signed up with them for twice a week with my $25 copay. I walked in one day at the beginning of February (One and a half months after starting with them) and saw a weird balance on my account. I got worried because, I am already on a tight budget with everything else as is. So before I went in, I had them look to see what that was. The woman at the front assured me it was a mistake on the address for the insurance company and that everything was covered and good. She told me to just make my copay payment. So sure enough, I went for another month without anything being said to me about it. I paid everytime I went in and have an emailed receipt for every visit. In March, I get a call. Apparently, my insurance never covered occupational therapy and only would cover physical therapy. So they told me my balance was over $3k. First off, I confirmed with them 4 different times to make sure it was covered. You don't sell someone on a $25 copay and then come back and go "oh by the way, it actually wasn't covered and its going to be over $100 per session". Thats the business' mistake and the appropriate thing to do would have been to say "Hey, we messed up. Thats on us but going forward this is what you would need to pay per session". I would have never spent over $1k a month on 2 times a week when I already owe thousands in other medical bills. I've already spoken to a medical lawyer. I am very appalled by the situation and the way they handled it. I would like to note that the only reason I have 2 stars is because my therapist, Tori, was great.

OPT used to be reputable until it was bought out by a group of fortune hunters. Now the Physical…read moreTherapists at their several OPT locations are over-booked and can't provide the personalize treatment they used to give. OPT's billing department in Fort Worth is a disaster. They sent my wife a bill dated November 16, 2020. I paid that bill with a personal check on December 2, 2020. Although I clearly wrote the account number on the check, they failed to apply it to my wife's account and continued to send us bills in December 2020, February 2021 and March 2021. My bank account recorded showed that the check had been deposited by OPT on December 9, 2020. I called and spoke with a billing representative and explained that the bill had already been paid. That was on March 1, 2021. After receiving a bill again dated March 24, which by the way had an additional physical therapy charge added to it that didn't show on any of the previous statements although the DOS was the same, I contacted the Better Business Bureau (BBB) on April 7, 2021. To this day, May 19, 2021, OPT has not responded to the BBB's inquiry nor to me. Do yourself a favor and take your PT needs to owners who actually care about their patients and who have customer service. Keep clear of any OPT location.
