Phoned Barry late on Wednesday afternoon, and after describing my issue he suggested I phone the office to make an appointment. Phoned and spoke with Macy that afternoon and make an appointment for Friday morning (second in line for Friday). Around 0210pm on Friday I had to call the office as no one had come by the house nor called to let me know when I could expect someone. Was told they had a water line break they had to make a priority over my issue. Understandable. What was not was the fact no one thought it wise to not to not call a customer for roughly six hours that it was unlikely they would honor their appointment. Then tell me they could come after hours if I would pay the Over-Time rate. So, they would not honor their commitment and expect me to pay extra for their failure. Instead, I asked to reschedule. Macy offered a late Monday spot, but could not guarantee they could make it if other jobs ran late. Again, was told they could come outside hours if I paid OT rates for their inability to fulfill their commitment. She said I could get the first appointment for Tuesday, the next day. I took that option. So, Barry sends me a text at 0816am on Tuesday that he is running late as no one told him he had an appointment with me and he had to do something with a child at school. Adding that "I'll be there asap." I am typing this at 0125pm on Tuesday and Barry is not here yet nor has he or anyone from Turner Plumbing called to update. Just the facts. Make your own judgement.

We already had our new faucet and parts, and for the new piece, turns out it was the strainer, he asked me to download the home depot app and place my order and offered to pick it up. He pulled out the old pieces, installed the new faucet, and I went to pick up the strainer which he installed and triple checked for any leaks once complete, all in exactly 1 hour. Jonathan was absolutely amazing! The price he charged was incredibly reasonable and a relief for our limited budget: $50/hr for so much work covered. He's also skilled in other jobs too, so we are having him back to install two new light fixtures and convert to LED from fluorescent bulbs. Moreover, he was kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Jonathan answered all of my questions about terminology for things in case I have any trouble in the future and described how converting to LED can be as simple as picking up the new LED plastic bulbs. We had the Home warranty required repair company address our system three separate times. I was…read moreready to replace an 8 year old unit because it just stayed problematic. The truth is my system is fine we just needed the quality and honesty of JUST RIGHT. Here are the technicians notes: 11/27/23....there were a few issues with the system starting with it was almost out of Freon. Started leak checking and found a substantial leak at the liquid line inside at piston connection. Tightened the connection and stopped that leak. Outside at the condensing unit....all three service ports were leaking and they just needed Shrader valves tightened and real service caps put on. Put brass caps with o-rings on and stop those leaks. Noticed when l first got here there was ice built up around the bottom of the condensing unit as if it doesn't complete a defrost period fully. There is a defrost temp probe attached to the inside of the condensing unit that was mounted in the wrong place on the coil. Could tell it has been replaced before just wasn't put in the right place. I did mount it in its proper location. Inspected evaporator coil and found it very dirty as if the system had run without a filter for some time and collected debris. Washed it clean with coil cleaner and water. Charged system with 5 lbs of R410a refrigerant.....after checking the system in cooling and heating it's working very well now. I don't believe there is any reason to replace this system. It just needed someone to locate these leaks .....clean it up and do a thorough tune-up on it.....l mean....it's only 8 years old. The leak inside the evaporator coil was so obvious that l find it hard to believe anyone has ever looked for a leak. I will stop paying for a worthless home warranty and give this technician a healthy tip for his great work.

The office lady was very apologetic and polite, but after waiting 8hr. with no call from the company I cancelled the appointment. This company may be I best at working on homes, but leaving someone waiting 8hr. with no outreach from them is rude and unexceptable.

Within two minutes (of the same night) I was on the phone with Dale (the owner). Dale was super helpful and offered to come by early the next morning (or that same night) to fix the leak. We were so thankful for the quick turnaround! There were a few other projects needing to be done and were planned to be completed by another company (that ended up backing out the prior month), Dale and his team member handled each the same day (switching out door knobs, repairing a vanity, repairing the wood deck (that was a big task), replacing and electric out and of course replacing the leaking kitchen sink)! He will even come back later when the custom window screens arrive to have those put in! My husband and I are relieved to have found Cooks Remodel and Plumbing!! I'd give no stars if I could: I told these guys I wanted a quote first. Sure they said. They got…read morehere & got right to work before I could get anything from them claiming it wouldn't be much. Good, this house already costed me almost all of my savings at this point & I don't make much. The plumbing fix should of been around 80 in parts. Maybe 80 for their "showing up cost", yet what about a free quote???? I get labor, but plumbers don't get paid what Dr's get paid hourly. Plus this should of only taken a couple of hours tops . I told them about my chimney leaking & felt it was coming front the top in only in heavy rains. He said they'd be back the next day with parts for my sink. I showed him my tub doesn't drain well at all. Wed fix it & it'd be great for a few baths & be back at being super slow to drain. He took a snake to it & got all excited saying he bets it didn't drain that good before. I kept telling him it did, but then it goes back to being a slow drain. He didn't listen. I had to pay someone else to come & fix that. He said I needed a new fence & shed. He tried to scare me saying they were a safety hazard & could blow into someone else's yard in a strong wind & hurt someone. He then told me I had to pay him cash as the taxes were hard on him. They made me go to the local ATM while they waited in front of my home. My bank isn't from here, as I just moved here. So this ATM had fee's per pull & so does my bank. You can only pull 200 at a time. SO close to 40.00 I Paid so he could be paid cash. He ended charging me $790.00. (600 for labor for a job that should of only took a couple hours tops). I need some of the cracks sealed up on my brick of my home. He said at first it'd be $2,000.00. Then said, it'd start at 790 & that doesn't include materials... he'd laugh as he just kept bringing the price up. When I had someone else look at it, my fence just needed pressure washing & my shed just needs new walls to be braced good. He'd say he was coming the next day to finish repairs & would never call or show. Then finally sent his helper over. My dishwasher still doesn't close right since, the hose they used is thicker, so they had to drill a bigger hole in my cabinet & I can't pull my fridge out safely to clean behind as the hose is too short now, because they didn't get the kit I told them was needed. He finally came back a few days later & got up on my roof to fix that leak by putting a sorted seal around the base of my chimney. When he was "done fixing my chimney leak" he took upon himself to pretend like he was helping by taking off the years of line needles from the top of my shed. My family & I kept telling him to get off of there. I was worried for his safety & I planned to do it myself. He instead would make my shed sway from side to side while he was standing on it again & again joking that I had homeowners insurance. I was worried for his safety & he was breaking down the stability of my shed ta boot. Then he kept trying to sell me his 2 story ladder. What would I do with a ladder. He acted like I was made of money & had no regards whatsoever. It stormed & of course it was still leaking. So I had to pay someone else to come to actually fix it. He tested to naturally 1st find where the leak is before fixing it. When people saw what he did-didn't fix & the costs he charged me they got to talking to folks. He then called me while I was busy. I couldn't take the call & he'd just call right back. Then he started calling me while I was working during the day, I had to reject the call as I was working. He'd call right back leaving message upset people are talking. I had to block his number. Shame on him for lying, misquoting, not fixing right & taking a single grandma for all she has left.
