So after getting quotes from 3 other people, Andrew comes in and gives us a quote that's considerably cheaper than the others. I'm a true believer of "you get what you pay for", but in this case i decided to try out the "cheapest" contractor. The process was easy. Andrew was good in the beginning . Towards the end of the remodel he was doing for us , he began to leave the job site for hours at a time and still expected us to pay him $3500 a week. About a week ago I over heard him talking to my mom about how we owed him $32000 because he was going to "finish the job ahead of time" . The stupidity was offensive . We ended up firing him from the job after he didn't want to come work because it was raining and still expected to get paid ... there were multiple things that could have been done inside of the remodel . Well now he has taken $5000 dollars that we're given to him to buy air conditioners . He will not return calls or texts . The fact that he would steal money from a family is disgusting . Nice people but very poor quality work. They chipped off a corner of the kitchen cabinet and did not tell us. They patched a chip in the quartzite and installed it without letting us know and it looks terrible. It's in a very prominent spot. No one checks their work and they had to come back so many times to fix problems they created that we finally gave up and hired another firm to finish the job properly. Poor work ethic. In October 2019 I had new cabinets installed for the whole house so after that was done I began looking for countertop companies on Yelp. I was unsure about rather to get slab or pre-fab. I just didn't want countertops that looked cheap. I got about 2 other quotes before I contacted Premium Countertops. Andrew gave me a good deal and was upfront and honest with pricing. I decided to go with pre-fab. He referred me to 2 companies that I could check out their selection of pre-fab. I was going to go with one color choice but I had to wait for a new shipment to come in. In the middle of waiting I decided to check out a 3rd pre-fab company, Quality Marble and granite in Ontario and found a pre-fab granite color that I loved. (They don't give you a price directly only through your contractor.) They coordinated everything through Andrew and we set up an install date. I choose the Andromeda white granite. Install went good but I had to move some of my bathroom outlets up so the backsplash would look nice in the bathroom. There was sometime between the original install and backsplash install due to Premium's holiday schedule but I haven't had any problems with the countertops so far. Aside from putting the countertops on the cabinets they were also about to install some leftover prefab on the fireplace mantle that always looked unfinished. Everything looks so good and I get a lot of compliments on the granite. They only had to put in 2 seams on the countertops and they are barely noticeable. We needed to remodel our kitchen since it had been outdated. We were on budget and we just wanted to replace the basic white square tile of the countertops and put a tiled backsplash to bring up a more fresh look. After reviewing the quotes from a couple of different contractors, we decided to go with Premium Countertops. They gave us a very reasonable price and Andrew was very attentive on the project from drawing the timeline, showing the sample of the quartz and arrange it with the quartz store. He listened to what were your concerns and what you want to achieve of the project no matter how small it is. We wanted to keep using our current white porcelain sink because we don't like the look of stainless steel sink and Andrew was able to do that. Other contractor said they couldn't guarantee to not breaking the sink during demolition! What??! I did my research and called several companies to get quotes. Some gave me outrageous quotes while others just asked to take a pic of my kitchen and then gave me, in my opinion, a random quote. Wrong measurements, delayed installation, after all it turned out that they installed deferent stones, so half of the kitchen is one type and the other is another. They didn't take responsibility for mistakes, making us call them again and again.
