Okay, it is just valet parking but with a little extra…read more It's right on the main street for La Jolla and all of it's wonderful restaurants and right in front of two spectacular restaurants, Eddie V's and Crab Catcher. We were greeted immediately upon pulling up like you would expect from valet. But instead of a ticket, they just take down your cell number. No more hassling with a parking ticket and hoping you don't drop or lose it. The added benefit is they will send you a text with a link. When you are ready to leave, maybe about the time you get your check, you can click the link and when you get outside your car will be there waiting for you. I tried it and it worked flawlessly. Fantastic idea and the first time I've experienced it. There are other valet parking right here on Prospect but none offer this service and Eddie V's Valet Parking is a little cheaper. And something I really appreciate is they don't mess with the window! I have no idea but so many valets will roll down your windows. I have no idea why they do this. I don't want my windows down and I'm so happy Eddie V's doesn't do that. FYI, they only accept cash when you pick up your car so make sure you have some on you and make sure to tip the valet. We ended up walking up five flights of stairs, only to find every door locked. This setup feels unsafe--potentially even a fire hazard. The elevators don't operate on weekends, making the lot very difficult to access and not ADA-friendly. When we tried to share this feedback with the manager, she was dismissive and unresponsive.

I saw a sign that said Public Parking but without any rate or information at all. When I headed to the entrance, it was a steep underground garage entrance, theres a ticket machine but it was too late by the time I got the ticket and saw the rate of $25. There was no way to back out as the entrance was steep and narrow. Thinking back, I should have tried backing out instead. Their rate is $20 for Mon-Thur and $25 for Fri - Sun. They do not charge by the hour. I give them one star for the availability of the parking, but no stars for the lack of posted rates. Try look for parking if you can. Only park here if you absolutely have to. A nearby valet charged $15 and $2/hour. ACE is a joke.

I love going to Marugame Udon for lunch and grabbing a quick bite, or Haidilao for hot pot if I want something a little nicer. There's also a VERY popular Din Tai Fung here. In addition, there's a food court with some fast food options, a Shake Shack, etc. It's a beautifully maintained and designed outdoor mall with plenty of space to sit and lots of kiosks where you can get coffee or small treats. We parked on the 3rd level and had to walk back up along where the cars drive! We couldn't use stairs either because doors were locked!
