The result was a slightly darker color than this, but I liked it. I've had many color jobs in my life--permanent, semi- & demi-permanent, henna, color depositing conditioners. I didn't touch my hair for 48 hours, and then rinsed it with water as cold as I could tolerate. Immediately, there was noticeable fade. Over the next 9 days, I washed it a couple times with cool water and color-safe products I'd used with previous color jobs. All the pink left, leaving a mix of gold/yellow/bleached color and my natural, salt and pepper (see photos). Even the Punky Color brand of depositing conditioner lasts longer. I reached out to Anne. Her first recommendation was to come in and pay for a glossing service ($90 before automatic gratuity). It was 11 days after the dye job. She blamed my products. I sent her photos of the ingredient lists, she didn't comment. I asked for a recommendation of a product I could put in myself. She recommended some shampoo/conditioner and a color-depositing product that wasn't available. I let her know, and asked her how long she had expected the color to last anyway. She made another recommendation, and didn't respond to my question. At this point, it was clear she was only interested in recommending additional purchases, and was ignoring my questions about how the dye she put in my hair was expected to function. She blamed my color-safe products, but wouldn't support this with any comment on the ingredient lists I sent. I had actually told her what I use for color-safe shampoo at our appointment, and her only comment was "I didn't know they (the company) made that." Nothing else. No suggestion of any specific products. So, I reiterate to her: 1) After 48 hours, noticeable fade started after just rinsing with cold water; 2) Did she see any red flags in the ingredient lists? 3) How long was the color product she used supposed to last anyway? Her response: politely telling me she won't work with me anymore. And again, no response to these reasonable questions. I reached out to the owner, who tells me "I'm sorry you were disappointed" and that she stands by Anne and also "as she is an independent stylist, I don't get involved in her business." Wow! So, if you're going to book a service at Salon Ori, be careful! If it doesn't go right, chances are they will not address your questions, they'll just want you to buy more stuff, and then tell you in polite terms to **** off. Now I'm going to go put a Moroccan Oil product in my hair--I should have done that in the first place.

The reason I am writing this review is to say that Jaynee Studer at Sakada is the best stylist I have ever had. I have been going to her for over two and one - half years and she is superb in every respect. She is an exceptional stylist and has found a way to cut my hair (with all of its cowlicks) so that it always looks very nice when she is finished. For over ten years, I went to a stylist at another salon and, after ten years, she could never even remember on which side I parted my hair! Jaynee is exceptional in her techniques and I would recommend her highly to anyone who is looking for a stylist. Besides being excellent at her profession, Jaynee is also very friendly and personable and a good person with whom to have a conversation. I always look forward to my appointments with her.

I returned to get a nice new look for date night; unfortunately, I had horrible service this time around. I did bring in a reference photo for inspiration. I was open to talking about colors if there was a need to. I was a golden blonde on the parts that were balayage from last time. After some discussion, Melia asked if I looked like the reference photo and if I would be happy. I said yes. The service started fine, but she didn't get a lift from my hair. She said she feared damage, but I don't know why she didn't do a strand test if that was the case. Either way, she went through it again, and this time, it lifted very yellow. I was pretty concerned when she was drying it and not noticing that it needed some correction. She kept saying there were light issues, but being next to a big window, I didn't feel that was the case. I asked her if we could put some toner or something to help it. She did this, but it left blue spots in my hair, and I felt my blonde pieces were inconsistent in tone and application. She styled me before I really had a chance to look it over and as we were over time she had me pay her. She gave me her card and kind of awkwardly said if I needed anything to contact her. When I got home, I looked at my hair closer, but it didn't look good. I went to straighten it to get a better look at the issues; it was apparent that this was a bad outcome. I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of honesty. I understand mistakes happen, but professionals note when things don't turn out well and schedule customers for a fix before leaving. I sent my photo to get an opinion and was advised this would need some big color correction. I do believe in giving people another shot if I think they can do it. However, I already made many comments of concern about the color to which I felt wasn't validated when it should have been. I also didn't feel we had enough trust if she let me walk out looking this way. My hair already went through a lot and I don't have the confidence that she has a solution to get me where I want. I did ask for a refund as I would need to pay for a corrective service. It's one thing if this was about a matter of taste, but this was technically a bad job. In a text, she said she didn't do refunds and would do a corrective treatment followed by recommendations of foils. I don't want foils; I want blended pieces. Right now, I have harsh lines in my hair that shouldn't be there. There was back and forth about whether she thought this was a good outcome and about consistency/patterns. I have had multiple balayages over the years, and I know what is expected, so it was pointless to argue further. At this point, I think the pictures speak for themselves. It sucks when things go wrong, but I would have hoped that it would have been acknowledged at the time of the appointment or at least in the end. I did get my tip back after I sent pictures to push my point further, but this experience was beyond disappointing. Lessons I learned: 1) These people are independent contractors, which means their work is not guaranteed. Make sure you discuss bad results and alternative solutions if they are not nailing the look they promised. A good stylist stands behind their work and cares about your happiness. If you have any doubt, go somewhere else. 2) Be your own advocate. If you are too shy to say something, go somewhere else that has a manager in charge. 3) Always tell them to do a test strand if they have any concerns about lifting or hair integrity. It's better to do a test than doing a service again and running out of time. 4) If you are in doubt, ask another stylist in the salon to come over and give feedback. That way, you will know if your concerns are valid.

I would also like to issue a genuine apology to the assistant manager for my language, as you can imagine, being a 17 yr old girl my appearance is very important to me and this being my first conflict with a "professional" place of business I did not at the time know how best to handle it. I booked on Wednesday the 17th a microfoil and cut with Kathrine (who I will say was very polite) the microfoil is described on their website as being "a technique for ultra-fine precision foiling which creates a seamless shimmer of color" I'll let you decide if the service I received in the pictures below matches that description. When I saw a few days later what had been done to my hair I went back in to the store and asked what could be done, they offered to tone it or re do the service which I appreciated but later called to decline and simply asked for a refund. Because the owner of the store was not in I could not get a refund at that time which is totally fine I understand that however it would be nice for you to include that more obviously on your website. I also would have liked to be informed before starting my service that you would not be able to match my hair color on my roots. And please do not blame me for the way you made my hair look I have another hairstylist who can confirm that your claims of how it's my fault are incorrect. I also feel I was quite overcharged because on your website price estimate it says I will be paying $190.00 however you charged me $215.00 maybe that's because of the other half a bowl of bleach? I'm not sure. I would also like to request that you stop trying to associate me with every poor comment you get on your page, any reviews that I had anything to do with were taken down.
