I decided to start going to Prenatal Plus Yoga when I was 33 weeks with my second child. That's when I decided to have a VBAC and thought that prenatal yoga would be critical in achieving an easier and natural birth. What I found was much more important than just a yoga class, I found a community! Debra is an amazing childbirth educator! I enjoyed the yoga classes because it wasn't just about yoga - it was about the whole birthing process. My husband and I also took her Hypnobirthing class which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Debra gives insight on all things birthing. When I talked to her about my VBAC plans, she recommended that I see Dr. Sancetta, who is widely known in the South FL community for VBACs. Sure enough, in my 34th week, after my initial consultation with Dr. Sancetta, I changed medical providers. My first baby came via c-section after a long 30 hour labor. I pushed for 3 hours and she never moved an inch. My doctor at the time told me that I had a "small" and "tight" pelvis which is why Baby #1 got "stuck". He told me that my subsequent labors most likely would go the same way and I might always have a hard time delivering naturally. Fast forward 18 months, and I was able to achieve my natural and unmedicated VBAC and I have to thank Debra for that. I truly believe that what I learned from Debra's yoga class, in addition to chiropractic care, helped to properly align my pelvis and create more space for the baby. The morning that I was in labor, I texted Debra to let her know that I wouldn't make it to class because I thought I was in early labor. She replied that if it was still early, I should come in to stretch, relax, and open up the hips. As I wasn't in too much pain yet, I decided to go - definitely had some contractions in class and she showed me how to breathe through them. Baby was born 4 hours later! Almost delivered in the car. As someone who likes to stay VERY active, I knew I'd be interested in prenatal yoga during my pregnancy when power vinyasa classes were out of the question. Prenatal Plus Yoga is quite close to my house so I gave it a try starting around 18 weeks. In the end, I got so much more out of it than just a workout. Yoga classes are offered three days a week - Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday morning (but additional classes may be added based on demand, so check the website or reach out to Debra). Each class is 90 minutes and includes everything from stretching and yoga poses, to massage, dancing and singing. At the beginning of the class, everyone introduces themselves and you also partner up at times, so it was a great opportunity to meet other local pregnant women. I ended up forming great relationships and now have my nearby mom tribe! Debra is the instructor and biz owner, she's also a doula and offers a bunch of other classes like hypnobirthing, mommy and me, CPR and more. There's not a lot of similar businesses in the area, so it's all much appreciated! All in all, I'd definitely encourage any moms-to-be to check out Prenatal Plus. The Prenatal Plus Yoga studio is on the 4th floor of the 401 Building in Miracle Mile. It is very quaint with wooden floors, mats and blankets set up. (There is no need for you to take a mat for class as they are provided.) There is a beautiful Art work of a pregnant women meditating with her chakras which you can't miss upon entering this place. Started coming to Prenatal Plus Yoga at 24 weeks pregnant and I'm currently 37 weeks. I have really come love and enjoy the Yoga Classes here. They include a combination of stretching, poses, relaxation, and meditation. No one class is the same. Classes can be purchased individually or in packages online or in person. Class schedule is available on the website. Debra the instructor is extremely passionate in working with pregnant women. She is also very knowledgeable and will provide advice and share many wonderful tips. She as also teaches numerous classes and workshops such as breast feeding, Hypnobirthing, and Holistic Childbirth and much more.. She is also doula in one of Miami's Natural Birthing Center. Although I have not decided to have a natural home birth I have really enjoyed learning from her. As my pregnancy is quickly coming to an end I am sure I will really miss my weekly class with her. In addition to prenatal she offers Post natal Yoga classes with your baby which I hope to try once I deliver. The Pre-natal Yoga classes have really allowed me to enjoy and embrace my pregnancy to the fullest and with confidence, inner strength and courage. It has also been wonderful meeting other mommies-to-be and sharing each others experiences. This review is concerning my experience with taking the 'Prenatal w/ Partner One-Day Condensed Education' class. At 35-weeks pregnant and not having yet any education on the labor and delivery process, I decided to sign up for Debra's one-day course designed for the birthing parent and their partner. It was very last minute, but I decided to do it out of desperation. WOW. I came out of the class knowing so much more than when I walked in. I was skeptical of how much I could absorb in just four hours, but Debra makes it possible. The content was perfect (course content at a high level includes labor and delivery, how partner can be involved and infant CPR) for what I needed to know; and Debra's teaching style made it very easy for me to comprehend. She makes it very clear from the beginning that the class is about how to advocate for yourself in a hospital setting. I do not have patience for a long, 8-week course so this condensed workshop version was really the thing I needed. If you're like me, don't hesitate and just sign up for the class. On January 11, 2020 I paid $220 for 20 classes. I had been looking for yoga classes affordable and close by. I found that place, I was not welcome joyfully as I expected. Maybe the hormones or high expectations because this is more mental than physical movements, I was quite expecting at least a warm and sincere welcome, explanations on classes etc. The first red flag I don't know why I got 2o classes upfront. It was pregnancy after all. There may have been some unforeseen medical events that I would not move forward at some point in contrast to my wish. None happened but Covid. That goes without saying that I could not go there due to the virus. I had 12 classes when it first broke out. After a while, I gave birth of my son. It is almost impossible to reach out to Ms. Debra Geymayr, the instructer. I tried, tried and tried to make it up or find a way to get a refund. I asked her of I could participate in her prenatal classes even though I was not pregnant. She ignored my sayings. Instead, she advice me to have her virtual lessons. I told her I have to be at work so such lessons conflicted my work schedule but in case I asked he how to do so. Again, I had no response. She just ignored me and I lost my money. She did not care about it. She did not even try to figure out a way. Literally nothing! Apart from telling me 'no refund'! I was fine by that just wanted to go to prenatal classes without being a pregnant. I ended up with a 'no' each time. Covid put us all in a situation unprecedented. It has been good enough to make exemptions. But 'no' means no with Ms. Debra as if i should have known a virus would break out when I had paid 220. The place is no good. Her instructions are always the same. After 2 classes, you'd know what is coming. You could simply watch a YouTube video and not bother going her classes. Being with pregnant ladies, talking to them, listening to their concerns and benefitting from their experiences made me feel relaxed. That was it but with Ms. Debra it did not and would not work that way! Never! After all, its yoga and the way it makes people is simple. Someone should tell her that meaning of it is not just having music surrounded her room, squeezing special odor, giving out candies. It is peace of mind, a getaway, relaxing, feeling comfortable, finding a way out of problems, solutions etc. I have never been disappointed this much and lost money this way! read more

I love this class. Very informative instructor. We get good relaxation , stretch and strength exercise in this class. The duration of the class is also reasonable. The setup of the class is very warm and welcoming. Good opportunity to talk and share concerns with other pregnant ladies and learn new things that everyone during pregnancy experience. I can't say enough good things about these classes, Debra and all the support I received from all the women who attended with me. I came in expecting to have another c-section but this class opened my eyes to different options. my first c section was the doctor's choice ! He scheduled it. my baby was big, 9lbs. he had already scheduled the second c section because he said it would be another big baby. Let me tell you something! having a vbac has to be one of the best choices I've ever made in my life. I love Debra and her classes! It's so great to be part of a group where all the girls are going through the same as you! I really like that we get a time at the beginning of the class to talk about what we are feeling and you get different opinions and stories from all the other moms to be, it makes you feel calm and safe... Do not buy any postpartum classes, beware! Debra does not commit to offering the classes weekly and you only know if there is a class last minute, on location. As it has happened to me and other Moms, after all the prep to leave the house with a little baby, Debra has shamelessly cancelled on the spot, because she wants minimum 3 families in the class. It is very insensitive and disrespectful to the Moms given all the prep involved and commitment to attend. With this poor behavior, there are very few Moms interested in post partum classes and basically, you only know if there is class by showing up, and probability is, there won't be a class. An online signup sheet is so easy to implement and Debra and Moms could manage expectations and logistics so much better. I first bought a package of 4 classes in November and today in February I haven't been able to use it all. Adding to the inflexibility, Debra does not offer credit for the classes you paid for in advance. This info was not given on payment, it was greedy, especially knowing there is no class every week. With the constant uncertainty and insensitivity towards Moms and babies, friends and I have moved to another studio where they give Moms the needed flexibility, teachers are professional doulas and yoga teachers, very warm and kind, plus athe space is bright and cozy. Give it a try, I recommend Midwife & Co in South Miami near Whole Foods. read more

I loved the yoga class. It combines relaxed yoga with stretching and some light exercise. The music is on point. Towards the beginning of the class while stretching everyone shares their latest experience and its nice because everyone gets some feedback from Debra. I haven't done much yoga before and it's very easy to follow. She takes her time and doesn't rush through any steps. Also applies some essential oil to your pressure points which is always a nice experience. Debra is so nice and zen. She is a great yoga instructor (also has her own birth center which is incredible!). I would highly recommend this studio. I came here just to unwind for some yoga. Little did I know this would soon become a regular place for me during my pregnancy. Debra, the owner, teaches a very relaxing and pregnancy-friendly yoga class. All the poses and other sections of the class are designed to make the baby(ies) comfortable and healthy in the belly and to help the mom connect with the baby and also be comfortable in the process. It is also a great place to connect with other future moms. Also, Debra is great at providing information to help moms feel empowered during their pregnancies. She gives great information, especially if you are interested in learning more about natural births. In addition to yoga, I ended up coming here for hypnobirthing classes and an infant CPR course. Because all of her services are amazing and she made me feel so at ease with my pregnancy, I also had Debra be my labor and post natal doula. She is great. She really made sure to get to know me and my birth preferences and helped me to advocate for myself during delivery. Even though complications forced me to have a c-section, Debra helped me feel at peace with that decision and even helped me as a lactation coach when one of my twins had trouble breastfeeding. I love the prenatal yoga classes with Debra! For me it's the perfect mix of light exercises, stretching, dancing and relaxation. Now that spring has started, we even do breath walks form time to time. Just love it! I've tried different prenatal yoga classes during my pregnancy, and this one is the best without any doubt. I am really late on my review but I had to come and review even a year later this was my second pregnancy 18 years apart! I went to one yoga class at Prenatal Plus when I was pregnant in Summer 2016. The class was definitely not traditional yoga but I enjoyed the chance to meet other pregnant women and move around a little. Debra spent a lot of time discussing a product she made and sells and also criticizing the medical profession and someone's birth story. I found some of her tips helpful, though. At the end of class, I bought a large package of classes. Within a week, Zika was being actively transmitted on South Florida. I contacted her and asked nicely and respectfully if she'd be willing to refund any of my money as my husband and I were planning for me to leave town. She sent me a check after a couple follow up emails and took quite a chunk out of it as processing fees or penalties or whatever. She also said that many women were using essential oils to protect themselves against Zika instead. I didn't think it was an appropriate (or medically sound) recommendation. I later reached out to her several times by text and email. I explained that rather than leave town, my husband and I agreed I'd put myself on house arrest rather than move somewhere alone for the duration of my pregnancy. I left only for doctor's appointments and even then wearing a head to toe bug net and bug spray. I was even interviewed for several news sources to discuss my choice so it wasn't a lie or schtick. I told her that I was very interested in in-home hypnobirthing classes and talking with her about possibly being our doula. I tried to reach her many times over the course of two weeks without a single response. I used a different hypnobirthing provider in my home and loved her so I consider it a blessing but it was very upsetting to be totally ignored when I was trying to give her business. read more

Literally the worst experience I have ever had. I gave this place a try THREE times this past month and it was worthless and miserable. First of all, Debra was completely rude and seemed like she had no idea what she was doing. It felt like the entire class was just lost the whole time and she didn't bother to do anything about it. I got ZERO attention from her, which I thought was just rude since I was new. The AC appeared to be broken every time I went, which is NOT okay with this pregnant mom. The whole thing just seemed useless, disorganized, and just awkward. I even asked for some kind of refund or credit because of the heat issue, and Debra just looked at me and said, "sorry, can't do anything about it, not my fault." Look lady, it IS your issue, it is YOUR business, act like it. Do yourself a favor and try one of the many other great options around and avoid this unprofessional waste of money at any cost! read more

After reading the last review I was nervous to try this place. But it came very highly recommended from 3 people I know. Debra, the instructor has a lot of training in prenatal services. She's very holistic and that can be hard at times for anyone with medical training. But she is super sweet and cares a lot about her students/clients. She offers a variety of classes at flexible times through out the week. I do wish she'd start up her weds morning class again but she hasn't found the demand for it yet (except me, I guess). For Mom's who work 9-5 jobs, she has evening classes. Her yoga classes do have about 5 minutes of discussion in the beginning so she can find out how each student is feeling, and be able to help stretch and relax areas of trouble. Remember, this is prenatal yoga! Not any other kind of yoga. It's designed to help prepare the body and mind for pregnancy, labor, and delivery. It's not your typical exercise class. I started when I was about 15 weeks pregnant and I thought it was a bit slow and easy. Now I'm 31 weeks and it's a work out for me! Most students attend all the way until they deliver. The classes have to be paced for all levels of pregnancy. I'm happy with the yoga classes here. But being a nurse, I'd recommend taking your child birth classes at a hospital. read more

Until this day I say I would have not made it through a 32 hour labor without everything I learned there, especially the breathing exercises. Attended the mommy and me yoga with my baby boy. It was awesome! The exercises were easy and helpful. The group introduces themselves and share questions or concerns they may have , the other mommies give advise on what is working for them at home. I tried out Prenatal Plus Yoga last April because I used to love yoga, and thought it could be a great help during this season of my life. I was hoping to find some helpful instruction and a welcoming atmosphere and warm community. What I found was the biggest waste of time and money, and the most unpleasant and uncomfortable experience I could imagine. I tried it out four times, and it never, ever got any better. The instructor and owner, Debra, was extremely rude and seemed like she was just in her own world. I thought I would be welcomed as a newcomer, but I just got completely ignored. She didn't give hardly any instruction, didn't even introduce herself to me, the class just felt completely disorganized and everyone looked lost. The place was filthy; I saw two roaches in the bathroom and the class area was just as bad. Debra clearly has no idea what she is doing, and it's evident that she just does this as a hobby and doesn't care at all about her clients. Avoid this place at all cost! read more
