My family and I will no longer go to Railyard Urgent Care. We had a situation with them several…read moreyears ago, however, we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Recently, my two year old grandaughter was taken to the Railyard Urgent Care with a high fever and the flu. They denied seeing her since they were closing in 30 minutes. Several years ago, I fractured my foot and called a different Urgent Care where they were closing in 20 minutes. When I got to Urgent Care it was 10 minutes before closing and upon my arrival they were waiting for me outside to help me in the building. Other urgent care locations are outperforming Railyard, so I'd highly recommend going elsewhere.

Corporate Risk Management Run Amok At Christus St. Vincent…read moreHospital (Santa Fe, henceforth CSV) they chain you to your bed (figuratively). Corporate risk management is out of control. This week, I was required to stay overnight. The first time I got out of bed to use the toilet, an alarm sounded [more below]. Medical staff ran to my room and told me I was not allowed to walk on my own. So, I asked for a walker. They brought one, but also a canvas safety strap that was placed around my chest, and a medical staff member had to hold on to it while I walked - with the walker - 12 feet into the toilet. When I asked a while later to be allowed up to walk around the corridors (as my surgeon wanted), I was again required to use the walker, while a medical staffer held onto the safety strap. After about 100 no-problem yards, I asked if that was proof enough to allow me out on my own. I was told no, I would have to use the walker, and only at times when staff was available to "assist me" [hold the safety strap]. Which happened only one other time during my stay - preventing me from following my surgeon's advice. If a patient is confined to bed and does not use leg muscles, deep vein thrombosis might set in. At CSV, they combat this with a set of plastic leggings that alternatively compress and release pressure, to drive blood through the veins. I don't know what kinds of these devices are available, but the ones at CSV are hung on the outside of the foot rails, so the controls are unavailable to the patient. In effect, these leggings chain the patient to the bed. CATCH-22: if you are fitted with these leggings, the patient CANNOT on his own move his legs enough to prevent blood clots, so hence the leggings are required. But patients are also in effect chained to their beds by the bed alarms. Anytime a patient tries to get out of bed when a staff member is not there to turn it off, an alarm blares "DO NOT GET OUT OF BED!! MEDICARE TEAM HAS BEEN ALERTED!! DO NOT GET OUT OF BED!!" and it continues until a staff member turns it off. During my stay, I set off my bed alarm twice accidently and once deliberately. Also, during my stay, the fire alarm was accidently set off. The medical staff handled the fire alarm expertly. The fire alarm was a moderately pitched, moderately loud horn. It was silenced after about 30 seconds - much faster than the bed alarms. BUT the bed alarms are VERY HIGH PITCHED and VERY VERY loud - at least twice the pitch and twice the decibels of the fire alarm. The bed alarms are 10-times as alarming as the fire alarm - and that fact is - yes - ALARMING!! The nursing staff tried bravely to defend these corporate policies. But since corporate risk management policy has totally trumped their professional training and professional experience, I cannot believe they are happy with it. My advice is to avoid CSV Santa Fe, unless: 1. you want your medical care to be managed by lawyers (guided by corporate profit) instead of by medical professionals committed to a medical standard of care. AND 2. you want to be treated as an incompetent child, incapable of making even the least critical evaluations of your own abilities.

They literally didn't do anything for me…read morebut just make me wait for hours, plus the staff was incompetent, at first they said I was fine to go then they wanted to do all this extra stuff just to over charge me, because they said my temp was high, when I first went in they checked my temp and didn't say anything until I was about to leave, this was a horrible experience just causing more problems then anything! This is ridicules I think they wanted to do these extra test just to over charge me which they did and they couldn't even tell me what was wrong with me, what a joke. Plus my insurance didn't cover the whole bill why was that? I shouldn't have to pay for these people's incompetence!

She is filing a claim with my insurance manually and gave me a receipt, just in case I need to file for an out-of-network reimbursement. Candace is a knowledgeable, professional, patient and caring person!

When traveling abroad, it's hard to imagine doing any better than Passport Health…read more First they are warm, welcoming, professional, and they actually respond promptly to email or phone inquiries. In my appointment they took the time to thoroughly address every health prophylactic treatment and recommended vaccination. They provided exceptional travel supply options such as first aid kits that include electrolyte salts to treat travelers diarrhea. Vaccination injections were painless & they helped plan them to prevent post vaccination sequelae. Before you leave they provide you with a large bound travel itinerary including consulate locations, all health related risks and how to prevent / treat them. It's awesome! Before I left for my trip I had symptoms that I worried might have been an infection at the vaccine site. Immediately went to urgent care & they said I was fine--large and temporarily swollen response which it turns our is completely normal for yellow fever vax, and meant I was now making antibodies to that virus. Before I could leave urgent care I had a call from Passport Health telling me the exact same thing. Awesome! On my trip about 10 days after getting over 30 mosquito bites in a malarial zone (and having forgotten to pack my anti malarial prophylaxis they prescribed & recommended) I began to have extremely high fever, chills & other sick symptoms consistent w malaria. Called them out of country before I returned from South America & Nanci was right there for me. She said NO don't take anti malarial meds just yet. She did some research right on the phone & told me I was in a dengue & possibly Chikunguya zone (no treatment avail for either) and that taking anti malarial meds if I didn't have it would make me much sicker & "muddy the waters of diagnosis". She said get to an ER that can test for malaria. She gave me her cell number (amazingly thoughtful) & began replying to my first message right away. Even through the night when I felt miserable tired & wanted to wait to the next morning to get tested--she said that's a bad idea and could get worse. Luckily, I had prepurchased travel insurance which included concierge service that found nearest hospital w all necessary tests (some of the nearby facilities didn't have them--big time saver). ER's are never fun but getting Malaria, Dengue & complete WBC panel back normal by early next morning let us know I probably had some kind of bad stomach bug and nothing worse. Nanci saved me from taking unnecessary meds--as a natural health devotee & natural medicine practitioner that means the world to me. Began to get better within another 24 hours & enjoyed the rest of my trip. On return home, I was astonished to receive a followup phone call from Nanci, wanting to make sure everything turned out well & see if I had any return questions or concerns. Professional, caring, organized, and with followup care that was included with my initial consultation price? I'm sold! Passport Health, I'll see you before we venture to SouthEast Asia next year. As long as I'm in NM, I plan for this to be my travel health clinic. Happy to pay out of pocket for such remarkable care. Thanks Nanci!

The staff and Dr Garcia where all so nice. They made the entire process so easy and painless. I even returned a week after my initial casting with some concern about the fit of the cast, and without question or an appointment, they removed the first cast (which Im sure was done properly) and gave me a brand new one with extra padding so I'd be more comfortable. I have had MANY breaks and casts and its not always such a quick and pleasant process. I can not recommend this team enough. The tech that did both of my casts was named Juan and he is kind, gentle and easy to talk to. I would recommend Dr Garcia and his amazing staff any day. Thanks everyone! I'm in my late sixties and I finally got my 1st Colonoscopy (almost a big mistake for waiting so…read morelong) and boy am I glad I did. They found and removed Three(3) polyps which prevented some serious future issues. Dr Daniel Bujanda and his team could not have made this experience any better, from start to finish they were nothing but polite, knowledgable and professional and having this done is a big relief. This was a very quick & simple process and I strongly recommend that if you haven't already gotten a Colonoscopy, Get-it-Done !!!

The waiting room is made hideous by a "mandatory" loud television on some channel that runs…read moreconstant ads and laugh tracks and other irritating content. Apparently this is "because of HIPAA to keep people from overhearing things". They've seemingly never heard of white noise maskers or even just music. They do have a "quiet room" that only accommodates one person at a time so the odds of being able to use it at this very busy practice are poor at best. Since they demand that patients' drivers remain in the building throughout the procedure you can count on a long miserable noisy ordeal that will leave you in a bad mood and unable to objectively assess the quality of the professionals' work as well as the experience in general.
