Avoid Ultimed Urgent Care in Santa Fe. They are awful - they prescribed medicine that caused severe reactions requiring medical attention elsewhere and then refused to even discuss it. Instead they screamed in the phone to just pay the bill. read more

I had chest pains, and went to Ultimed because it's close to where I live. They admitted me immediately, and correctly diagnosed that I had a heart problem that required emergency attention. They then called an ambulance and I was whisked off to the hospital. They later called to check up on me. Very happy with their service and their handling of my situation. My nurse practitioner was Rebecca and her assistant was Amanda. Amanda was so nice (I would love to take her back to the Urgent Care in Texas where I take my grandkids). Rebecca was very professional and quality care. She went over all the medicine she was prescribing and reviewed how to take it. I have run Childrens' and Adult hospital for 30 years and I just pray my staff is this professional, caring and knowledgeable. I am sure I will be back here with my 3 grandkids. Within a few days of visiting Santa Fe, I began experiencing some altitude sickness symptoms. It was enough that it was causing me to lose sleep, gasp for air, and generally increase anxiety. Luckily I found this place through Yelp and was able to just walk into the clinic after just a reasonably short wait. Dallas greeted us and made us feel very welcome - and gave us some terrific advice about cans of oxygen available at the local pharmacy, which made a big difference to me as the days progressed. Annette the PA then saw me and patiently listened & prescribed some great medication that quickly took care of most of my symptoms. I've never been to a clinic that felt that warm and comforting - from the decor to the soothing music. Every doctor's office should be like this! read more

Tiffany at the Rio Rancho/Bernalillo location showed the least amount of compassion for my 90 year mother dealing with Covid. She was the least compassionate, least professional front desk worker I have ever dealt with in the medical profession. If you don't have compassion, you're in the wrong profession. Stress is already high when dealing with a sick elder and to have to encounter such attitude and unpleasantness, just adds to the stress. Whomever is in charge should update the business hours and/or not allow scheduling when the clinic is closed. I made an online appointment, showed up on time during business hours, waited by the front door for twenty minutes, and no one showed up. If this was a bakery so be it, but an urgent care facility has more responsibility if they cannot provide care. I'd recommend calling first to make sure someone is actually there or go to Railyard Urgent Care, it's a longer wait but the staff is very competent. In their reply to my review on another site, they claim someone came to talk with me in the parking lot, which is simply not true. A simple sorry for the mixup would have sufficed but now they should be ashamed for claiming there was any interaction. read more

I had an amazing experience at Ultimed Urgent Care in Santa Fe. Having just returned from a 10 day business trip, I knew I had picked up some sort of flu that had me feeling really crummy. Dallas, who greeted me and was the first phase of my intake, was excellent. Efficient, friendly and professional. Then, Rebecca, an outstanding PA, paid attention to every detail and ended up prescribing medicines for a quick recovery as well as advising me on the best protocols for me to follow so that I could get back to being healthy before the holidays! This place is terrific (once you get past the receptionist). It is very clean and pleasant inside. The medical practitioners are knowledgeable and friendly. Avoid Ultimed like the plague. Dr. Fraker should revisit the Hippocratic Oath. She does not monitor her physician assistants and lets all of them run wild. I was seen back on February 3rd and the PA, Robert Martin never performed a medical examination - not listening to my heart, no looking into my ears, no feeling of my lymphoid, he did not listen to me breath, nothing. Ultimed was dead on Superbowl Sunday. Dr. Fraker charge me for a 45 min new patient visit and did not even preform an extensive medical evaluation. I was seen for an entire 5 minutes by the PA. Dr. Fraker should be ashamed of the fraudulent charges and malpractice. Do yourself a favor and go to railyard urgent care in lieu of this nightmare. Note, Dr. Fraker had her medical assistant call me in lieu of speaking to me. She claims that her staff called me to come back in for further medical attention, but only a lab slip was produced. Dr. Fraker and her staff never called me back in to complete an examination and address the issues that I had come in for. Dr. Fraker is still refusing to talk with me. She does not want to take responsibility for her practice. I was informed that the money that I was charge for services would be refunded. I asked when the refund would go through, and I was told that a check will take some time and the medical assistant told me she honestly does not know when the refund will be process. I do not see why Ultimed cannot simply reverse the charge on my credit card. This place really is an example of systemic dysfunction from medicine to office management. read more

I was in pain and very uncomfortable - on the weekend, of course. The first urgent care center I called had an hour and a half wait. I was a bit reluctant to try Ultimed because it is downtown and I thought it would be expensive. However, I was in pain - I didn't really care as long as they could get me in. Not only did I have a brief, five minute wait, but the people working there were warm and friendly and understanding. The inside of the beautiful adobe building was welcoming and comfortable. I was taken care of thoroughly, professionally, and with compassion. 20 minutes and a small co-pay later I was on my way to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription. They even called me later in the week to check on me. I recommend Ultimed wholeheartedly, and will use them again whenever I need an urgent care center. I had to go in the day before Thanksgiving and was attended to literally as soon as I stepped foot in the door. (Even if it had been busy, I got the feeling I would have been seen pretty quickly). The staff was kind and the doctor treated me with care and answered all of my questions. The ambiance of the place is fantastic and soothing - which I have to admit affected my experience and put me more at ease in my uncomfortable state. I got a follow up call several days after I visited, which I wasn't expecting and thought was really nice. Crossing my fingers I won't need to come back any time soon, but if I needed to I would! I sprained my ankle badly and suspected I had broken something so I needed an x-ray. We pulled up to Ultimed yesterday (Monday morning around 11am, website says they open at 9am), no cars in the lot and the sign on the door said to call them. I called and got voice mail. Left a message. Went somewhere else and found out I did indeed have a fracture. They never called back. What good is an urgent care that isn't open when they say they are? read more

What a great and caring clinic. We are in town to visit for a couple of weeks and the elevation of Santa Fe was killing me. After 30+ years of smoking and breathing Sadam's burning oil smoke in the 1st Gulf War I suffer from COPD. My wife convinced me to go to Urgent Care after 3 days of gasping for air. Within 10 minutes of arriving there Victoria called me into the treatment room, asked my symptoms, took my oxygen saturation level, and immediately put me on oxygen. The PA Mike came in and asked comprehensive questions to better be able to treat me. Outstanding care and understanding for my issue. Gave me two breathing treatments to get oxygen levels within norms and wrote 3 prescriptions to get me going again. I could not have asked for better care. If you are in Santa Fe and need Urgent Care, this is the place to go. read more

This is not the place to go even if you have medical insurance. 1. You are not seen by a doctor nor is a doctor required to me on site. 2. The X-ray disc you receive is a software which specialists in Santa Fe cannot read. 3. If you are a first time visitor, you are charged at a new patient rate and although less than the ER it has no long term value as chances are you will never go there again. 4. If your insurance says no copay they charge a fee upfront before even being seen. 5. If you question their billing, you are told not to return. 6. Even if close to Santa Fe hotels, where do you want to leave your tourist dollars? It might be convenient, but ultiMed actually supports the adjacent Botox business. There is a great urgent care close by at Railyard or there is Presbyterian where you can even make an urgent care appointment on the weekend. Thanks to juniper allergies, this is probably the 4th or 5th spring in a row that I have visited Ultimed with a sinus infection in need of antibiotics. In each case, the doctor or NP was thorough, asking all the right questions. In the end, I was prescribed an antibiotic, it was called into my pharmacy and I was in and out of Ultimed within the course of 15 - 20 minutes. To the extent I have had to wait, it is a calm, clean and pleasant atmosphere. They do a GREAT job! Thank you guys. read more

If I could award less than one star, I would. Even though I had been there before, they charged me a new patient fee of $150 (as I recall), and a tray fee of $100.00 for saline and 3 stitches. Even before being seen and being made aware of the additional charges, I asked for an estimate of the charges and was told they just didn't know. No mention was made of a new patient fee, or that the work would be done by a PA as opposed to a physician. I was not seen by the doctor. This is the medical mafia. Six hundred dollars for three stitches. My insurance did pay them for services. It didn't cover the additional fees.Totally unethical, dishonest and deceitful in that patients are not made aware of the fact that they will not be seen by a physician, and that they will be charged exorbitant additional fees. read more

I used this service once in 2012 during a period where we were moving here and had no doctor. There was one health care professional (nurse?) on staff. The wait was long. No prescription was offered. I was advised to hydrate with -- wait for it -- Gatorade. The damage was really their bill in excess of $200. I returned home to an adjoining state, saw my Doctor, received medication and the problem went away. (That bill was $80.) I hope others have a better experience. read more

This morning (a Saturday) I fell and hurt my foot. As the pain increased, and walking was impossible, it was obvious that I needed X rays to determine the damage. We live in Santa Fe NM and any of the options were available to us from Emergency room to Urgent Car. We chose UltiMed on Paseo de Peralta near Marcy. What a great choice. The atmosphere is stress reducing - soft music, an adobe "home", clean, efficient. The staff completed the paperwork quickly, and the medical team provided (Nurse practitioner Xray technician) were thorough and knowledgable. In a short time, the X rays had been read, a radiologist had reviewed, my foot was fitted with special shoe, prescription written, and I hobbled on my way. I cannot imagine a better place to go for any medical need. Whether a local or tourist, your medical needs will be met at UltiMed. I am so grateful it is a facility, open 7 days a week, that is in my community. I am confident in their emergency or follow up care. read more

Do NOT go here. After grossly misdiagnosing my symptoms (I ended up at the hospital three days after seeing the nurse practitioner at UltiMed), Ultimed sent me an invoice for an amount over my deductible, which I had paid at the time of my visit. So not only did I spend three extra days in excruciating pain, I had to fight them over their bill. I will never set foot in this place again, and suggest you don't either. read more
