The Inn was built in 1909 by Thomas Edison. Yes that Thomas Edison, the one who invented the lightbulb. The Inn has so much character it's pure eye candy for those who appreciate the fine craftsmanship of classic furniture, decor and interior design. We stayed in the Thomas Jefferson room, the biggest room with a king size bed and infamously know to have housed Joe DiMaggio and Marylyn Monroe back in the day. The owners were super accommodating and Dave cooked us one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. Highly recommended!

Check-in was quick and easy. One thing I wasn't told, though, was that your room key is needed not only to use the elevator but also to activate the lights in your room. Thankfully, I've stayed at hotels with this feature before, or I probably would have been pretty confused. The resort is huge, so if you're bringing a lot of luggage, definitely grab a luggage cart. It'll save you from making multiple trips. I also reserved a room with what I thought would be two queen beds, but it turned out to be one queen bed and a pull-out couch. After a few nights on the pull-out mattress, my back was definitely feeling it. Another thing to know is that the in-room refrigerator doesn't have a freezer. Luckily, I brought my portable electric fridge/freezer cooler, so I just plugged it in on the balcony and kept all of our food in there. The outdoor grills are a great feature, and we cooked steaks a couple of nights. Just be aware there aren't any grilling utensils provided, so bring your own if you plan on cooking. We also had dogs staying next door that barked almost nonstop, especially whenever people walked down the hallway. It was a little annoying, but I'm a dog lover, so I wasn't going to complain. My room also felt on the smaller side. If we came back during snowboard season with all of our winter gear, I think space would be pretty tight. Now for the good... The resort is absolutely beautiful, spotless, and very well maintained. There's really no reason to leave the property. Between the winery, the upscale Italian restaurant, and the pub-style restaurant, there are plenty of great dining options. Both restaurants offer outdoor seating where you can enjoy food and drinks by the pool. The food was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. The pools and hot tubs are outstanding honestly, they're comparable to what you'd expect at a Disney resort. There are also tons of activities for kids, including poolside movies on a projection screen, arts and crafts, ice cream events, and guided hikes. It really feels like a place where families can make lasting memories. I don't usually work out while I'm on vacation, but the fitness center here is so nice that I had to use it. It's honestly the kind of gym I'd pay a membership for. I even took one of the spin classes, which was a great experience. The only thing I didn't see was a sauna. Maybe there is one somewhere on the property and I just couldn't find it, but if there isn't, that would be a huge missed opportunity especially during the winter months after a long day on the slopes. I'll definitely be coming back, and I could honestly see myself buying a timeshare here someday. The only thing that surprised me was that no one ever asked if I wanted a tour or gave me a sales pitch. I don't know if they just aren't pushing timeshare sales as hard as other resorts, but I was expecting to at least be asked. Overall: 4.5/5 stars. A few small improvements would make this place nearly perfect, but it's an outstanding family resort and one I'd happily recommend.

The booking website seemed to hail from the AOL era, making me wonder if the grounds would be just as antiquated. But upon arriving, we were pleasantly surprised. From the front, the resort looks fresh and impressively sized. Service from check-in to check-out was seamless, and when we had minor complications with the air-conditioning in our space, they brought a maintenance person to help in good time. Our vineyard-facing unit offered beautiful views, and I cannot understate how helpful it was to have a fully outfitted kitchen in our unit. I made full use of the blender to make morning smoothies, we found cutting boards and spoons aplenty for small snacks, and it was just nice to have an ice machine right in our giant fridge. I could see this being a major convenience for traveling families. To call it a resort might be a bit of a stretch. In my mind, a resort is an all-in-one site, including full options for dining, recreation, and entertainment. True, there are two restaurants, a small winery, a decent arcade, and a decent pool on site. But there were no breakfast options, and the pool was frequently closed while we were there. There's a so-called playspace in the lower level that was somewhat sadly outfitted with a few coloring materials and a pretty glitchy interactive projection that kids were done with after trying for a few seconds. That said, there were curtained off areas of live construction that promise more fun things to come. If the posters in the elevator are to believed, there will be a gondola leading from the hotel to a mountaintop, which should make for a fun wintertime stay.

We never heard people walking above us, and even if the 2nd floor is where the pool is located (and the hotel was full), we didn't hear too many kids running around. Kali and Tracey at reception are awesome! And - during our previous stay for 4th of July, I actually realized that they have an area to the back/right hand side of the hotel, with tables and even bbqs guests can use! Picnic tables aren't the most comfy, but I can bring my own chair from now on. We will be back soon! Love this place.

Stayed at the Omni with my three kids, 5 and under, and in laws for a few nights and had an incredible experience. As soon as we arrived, everyone was incredibly friendly. Nick gave our kids a very warm welcome and handed them all super nice kids welcome bags. He was also the last person we saw when we left and he did a great job, super friendly! The resort has plenty of outdoor areas for the kids to run around and get some energy out. The indoor pool was perfect for kids. Only went up to 4 ft and there was a 1.5 ft wading area for the babies. There is a toy store on site in case you want to get the kids something. Of course the arcade was a huge hit for our kids. All of our meals were wonderful. We had the best servers. Elena, Peter, Dilek were awesome. Elena made us feel so special and treated me and my mother in law so well! Adam was super helpful and always hustlin around the covered porch area. After the kids were asleep we were able to sneak out to the Conservatory bar (beautiful views of the mountains) and Ben made delicious drinks. What we experienced instead was an absolute disgrace. When we opened the curtains of our expensive suite, we were greeted not by the majestic White Mountains, but by garbage cans, dumpsters, HVAC units, and an unsightly service/utility yard. At no point during booking or check-in was it disclosed that our high-tier family suite would overlook the hotel's back-of-house trash operations. When we brought this to management's attention, expecting basic empathy and a reasonable resolution, the response was shockingly dismissive. The staff was completely unaccommodating, and the manager was entirely unempathetic and uncooperative. Rather than trying to make things right or move us to a acceptable room, the manager blatantly told us that if we didn't like our accommodations, we could always just check out. To add insult to injury, after making us feel thoroughly unvalidated and ignored, the manager offered a insulting token compensation: waiving a single night's $50 resort fee on a stay costing over $800 per night. This stay was a complete and total disappointment. The quality of the accommodations and the terrible attitude of management were completely inconsistent with Omni's reputation and nowhere near worth the price we paid. Save your money and stay somewhere that actually values its guests.

We tried to climb multiple times and were told to come back. When we did come back at the right time (two separate times) they said the time changed. They don't let you reserve in advance (which would alleviate this problem) but most of all the staff was super rude and went out their way to be unhelpful (Katelyn from st albans - most of all). They could easily have helped but they did not and walked away with us standing there with upset kids (for the third time) For a cost and supposed level of service-- this is shocking. Been a big advocate of this resort my whole life but the atmosphere has sadly changed.
