Let me preface this by saying I am a hairstylist, and a guy, I just like to be well groomed and…read morestay on trends. I work downtown and usually got my nails done downtown at mediocre, expensive places because it was in the vicinity. However, I don't want to go downtown, if I don't have to. I started to search for places in my neighborhood and I always felt disappointed by the results, they would always make my nail beds look too thick, the designs (which are extremely minimalistic) would always look like I did them myself and I was still paying downtown prices. I don't care about price, but I care about quality if I'm paying (which by the way Angie is about $30 cheaper) I booked an appointment with Angie, as a recommendation from a friend and after Yelp reviews and Google reviews... To be quite honest, you can literally spot Angie from the entrance because she's happy and welcoming, but the rest of the staff is a little off putting and intimidating, it's like they don't really care, it's just a job to them. The space is super cute and charming, super neat, Covid regulations are in order. I had a 3:00 appointment, and I know how the beauty industry works, we are always 10 mins late or 20 mins early. She was 10 mins behind and I understand, things happen. I had an appointment for an SNS manicure, because I don't know any better, and Angie asked me about the history of my nails, what my goals are, she immediately knew that I was a nail biter who had quit recently, she suggested for me to opt for a gel manicure, instead of the SNS because of the design I wanted, and to curtail the thickness that happens when you over layer the polishes. She matched the color of the SNS dip with a gel polish and it immediately clicked in my head that she's the real deal, as she gave me options between a pinkish polish or a more sand neutral polish. Angie is super quick, she explained to me why my cuticles look swollen and suggested to massage lotion or oil in circular motions on my fingers because other nail techs have possibly cut my cuticles too deep and the caveat of rubbing oils on my nails because gel polish doesn't like oils. I've spent 2 hours getting my nails done at other places in the neighborhood to look like I had a homemade job, she spent about 35 mins. She's incredibly detail oriented, not to mention she's a super cool, down to earth boss lady, so if you have an issue with her picking up her phone, answering texts or emails or checking out clients as you bake in the UV lights, then you don't deserve her, I can't stop raving about her. She is literally stuck with me, I am a super fan! I have received so many compliments on my nails, and this is just day one, from friends, clients, sales associates and when I went to buy groceries, a guy asked me "your nails look so cool! Where do you go??" Angie is no joke. Creme de la Creme? more like pièce de résistance. I found my new nail home, period. Thank you so much Angie.

I've been back a few times and have recommended Creme de la Creme to family in the neighborhood,…read morebut I would strictly only go back for my usual Dazzle Dry manicure (which is excellent with Ana). In April, I had a gel manicure as a walk in with another tech and developed "rings of fire" (grooves) on two nails. I assume it was due to the use of the drill specifically at the end to clean up the nails. This could have been done more carefully. It is August and I can finally cut the damage off.

I really love this place and especially my Technician Maria. I'll be honest, when I first started…read moregoing there I didn't think I'd continue because of the price BUT, the attention to detail and overall quality makes it worth it; my nails easily last for 3 weeks and can even stretch to a month if necessary. Maria is so detail oriented and their space is always clean and relaxing. If cleanliness, cool space , and attention to detail is your thing (and you're able/willing to pay a bit more) then this is your place.

What a nightmare. I urge you to be very careful with this business. I have been a regular customer,…read morebut recently had an appointment cancelled on me the day before, which was really inconvenient. I found out later it was because my regular person no longer worked there. In following up and trying to reschedule I discovered that every time I booked through the online system, my card was charged, and if I modified the reservation, I was charged again. According to the Colorvat policies, this money is supposed to be issued as a gift card to the client, but mine never were and I suspect the same is true for many other clients - they are just betting on you not calling them on it. So now I am held hostage to spend hundreds of dollars here, but to use the "gift cards" (my own money) I can't book through the online system, and have very slow and stilted interactions by text when I try to book with their administration. There are lots of other places to get a good manicure - I hope my story will help you avoid the same problems! PLEASE watch out if you modify a reservation you made online!
