First of all, it was so happy to see that they had some same day appointment availability! Why that may not always be the case, some booking systems will still only show starting next day. I also loved that their menu had a lot of options, including more than one type of Brazilian to book. When I showed up to my appointment, I checked in and filled out some basic, new client information. I was then taken to my room with my waxer promptly after. They use hard wax here which many people prefer, but for me hurts the most. But I don't really care what is used as long as they're hygienic, quick, effective and will not spawn in-grown hairs. My waxer was quick, thorough and one week out...things are still looking good! As a bonus, first time clients got a significant discount which made me even happier about my experience. While my experience before check out was already excellent, that was just icing on the cake. Overall, I left very impressed and will definitely return again in the future!

Sugaring NYC is the best kept secret of New York's beauty scene..Trust me - noone in Manhattan does better waxing as their girls. I brought i think 10 of my girlfriends and everyone loves it. Its so much better than regular "Rubber" waxing. They use special "Sugaring paste" that removes the hair from the hair follicle. This ensures your hair will not grow back for much longer than if you would just wax or shave. Sugaring is amazing ( and Organic!!!) way to remove the hair. I absolutely love their office design. It reminds me the times when i had my Barbie doll with house, toy car and pink horse - walls at Sugaring NYC are pinky-cool and make you feel like you are in some kind of Fairy Tale. Absolutely love that they always have candy and tea while you are waiting. Talking about service - everything is absolutely fast, easy, virtually painless and smooth. As for the specific staff members - i cannot say that someone is better than others , they all are great, know what they are doing and do the work clean and nice. Noone does Waxing services better in NYC.They also have 3 locations in NYC - Downtown in Wall street area, Midtown - around Herald Square and Columbus circle location. I finally made the transition from getting waxed to getting sugaring done, and the only thing I regret is that it took me so long to switch over. I had my first appointment sometime in December. I was leaving the country for a wedding and knew while I was gone I'd be wearing a swimsuit. Therefore the thought of getting waxed then dealing with ingrown hairs was just something I couldn't deal with. Ever since I switched over to sugaring, finding ingrown hair dilemmas are no longer a thing. That issue thankfully for me is completely dead and gone. Jaritza has been my aesthetician every appointment, and she's been wonderful. I know I will continue to schedule all of my appointments with her. I don't think anyone really looks forward to having the sugaring process done considering it's not the most comfortable thing in the world getting hair pulled out from your body while lying on a table, not in the most glamours of positions... However, Jaritza is professional, informative, funny, and makes the whole thing seem a bit easier while she takes care of business. I absolutely love Sugaring NYC. From the staff to the establishment and how clean it is kept. Everyone is professional and makes you feel very welcomed. Andrea is amazing! She's professional and has always made me feel super comfortable. She explains everything to you and guides you step by step. She is thorough and makes sure you are happy with your end result. Her bright personality and social qualities have always helped during the entire process. I have been doing Brazilian with Sugaring NYC for more than 6 months and have seen great results. I have less hair growth and can happily say my ingrown hairs have reduced so much! I sugar every 4 weeks and even in 4 weeks there isn't much growth, but what's also great is there doesn't have to be much growth for sugaring to work. Definitely a plus! If you have not tried sugaring, you must! Results are better than regular wax and you can eliminate all those blemishes and marks that waxing has been known to leave. Best experience ever. Sugaring is so much better than waxing. I almost didn't feel anything, they use Organic sugar paste causes no bumps and irritation like Waxing at places like European Wax center does. I will never do regular waxing again, - their offices are so so cute, staff is friendly and smiling, everything is clean and neat. My esthetitian made me comfortable and explained to be what she is doing, appointment went great - fast moving, she was removing hair gently and i almost didnt feel anything. I mean, it will always be a little painful, but when you understand that you will not have any hair growing for 3-5 weeks - its 100% worth it. They have a promotion - when you book your next appointment - you get 10% discount on it if it was pre-booked. Their prices are already lower than in other waxing places and with this promo, it makes the price a joke. I honestly don't know why i was waxing in any other than this place. If they try to make you pay $100 fee for being late or missing your keratin lash appointment, just reschedule your appointment via your confirmation email. You won't be charged. They try to scam people that don't know about this feature. The aestheticians are always making fun of their waxing clients IN FRONT of other clients. I witnessed this a few times in both midtown and downtown location. Find another sugaring place! *Update* The owner reached out to me about removing this review but I just want to let other customers know so that they won't lose their money in unavoidable circumstances! As for the staff, some are very unprofessional, making fun of how heavy sized a customer was and how it was hard to wax them. It was very uncomfortable to witness that. From yelp violation-- "We don't think the public wins when consumers are pressured or even paid to remove or alter their honest reviews, and it's a violation of our Terms of Service to offer someone a refund in exchange for removing their review (and it's a violation, too, to accept such an offer). Im 24 years old and just now getting my first wax. I did want to try Brazilian but I decided to start with the under arms for my first wax experience. I heard of Sugaring NYC being an organic, popular, & high rated. When I got to my appointment the decor was so cute, I even got a cup of tea, and the receptionist was polite. A young lady Danielle serviced me and for my first time, I'm very happy I got her since I like to go to the same person for that service. Her suite was decorated and welcoming like the lobby. She then comforted me while she worked because my nervousness had me talking her away. I would say it is a bit painful (or maybe just my first time(s)) but having someone like Danielle service me will make it much easier. I got the feel for the under arms and will get one every now and then but I'm surely starting my Brazilian Wax journey with Danielle. I've been sugaring for some time...Sugaring NYC is where I go and will continue to go. I come from Jersey where I've tried a number of sugaring "spas"...Nope to them. Sugaring NYC is very calm and welcoming - kool music. This time around I got a brazilian with lower leg and underarms. Chantel is super meticulous. Whatever the sugar could not pick up, the tweezers and Chantel's good eye did. And the prices are great...some places don't offer packages, but Sugaring NYC does, and you'll get the one that is easiest on your pockets. Can you tell I'm all about Sugaring NYC???? :-) I am and I highly recommend them. I have gone to Sugaring NYC for years so trust me when I say that I know what I'm talking about. I have been booked for appointments on numerous occasions that were canceled spontaneously - which of course completely spoils my plans. I've had to scramble before vacations to make up for this. I continued to go because I love my tech. Most recently, I was booked for another appointment that was canceled. I am in the hardest time of my life and needed this moment of self-care and once again, I have been disappointed. I called and they were not able to resolve the issue. I will not be returning. Everyone drops the ball - the goal is to support companies that pick it back up. Upon this event, I thought back and realized they never have done any repair with these incidents and I continued to spend my money there. Please. Janene: i came in today to get my underarms, legs and Brazilian done and janene was absolutely amazing. She made me feel so comfortable. She was really detailed, getting every underarm hair. This was my first time coming to her and I will definitely only use her from now on. She put the healing lotion under my arms when she was done and I was surprised as she was the first person to have done this. I've been coming for about a year now and none of the other people have used a lotion when they were finished. I can tell that she knows what she is doing and that she actually cares about the outcome of the wax. My waxes are usually very painful, as I have a very low pain tolerance, but she holds the area when she pulls the wax off and it greatly reduces the amount of pain that I felt. The Wax Capital of NYC!!!! I have been going here ever since I dumped the pain-addicts at European Wax Center back in 2016. The sugar wax leaves your skin smooth and bump-free. It doesn't not irritate your skin and it is 100% toxic free. I've recently been introduced to the best water, Leticia! She is Brazilian and has this 1 finger waxing technique that makes it fast and virtually pain free. I do have a higher tolerance than most for pain. I get Full Bikini and underarms on the same day and can easily hold a conversation throughout. But, my advice to anyone who struggles is to pop 2-3 Advil an hour before you get waxed. It really helps numb the pain. I will now only come back to Leticia because she is so thorough! She got everything off and went in with tweezers if she needed to. Love her! This was my first time ever getting a wax, so the sugaring method was the only way I wanted to go. From the moment I walked into this location my nerves that were once rattled, calmed down. Overall the place is good and clean (bathroom needs some repair work though..). Services are relatively easy to schedule. Had done keratin lash treatment at Midtown location twice. First appointment was a very good experience - Kiri did a great job. It was my first time doing it and she was great at explaining everything and being very attentive and careful. Second visit was very disappointing, however. Jasmine started to prep the lashes and it felt uncomfortable for me so I asked for few seconds break and perhaps if she can adjust something or explain what is happening. She abruptly ended the procedure and left. There was no other esthetician who could finish the work so I had to reschedule for a different day. It felt very unprofessional and quite rude. This location was recommended to me by a coworker and to be completely transparent, I was very skeptical at first. However, I eventually bit the bullet and decided to get a Brazilian bikini wax just a short few months ago. It is safe to say that I immediately fell in love and have been a consistent customer ever since. The staff at Sugaring NYC city are very kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable individuals. The studio is always immaculate and the playlist sounding through the speakers is always fire! Sugaring has been the best decision I've made. The non-chemicals used is amazing! I love that the environment is so homey and cozy. Everyone who works here are so nice and sweet. I was so scared for the first time. Now back again for my second, I'm so excited! The results of sugaring is far more greater than waxing. One, I have sensitive skin and with the waxing, I would turn red, pumps were more likely to form. I've noticed with sugaring my skin is more receptive to it. My skin isn't as irritated, and after a while (I've heard) there's less and less hairs to grow back). But when they do grow back it isn't as aggravating when I would get a wax. I love sugaring!! I came here for my first ever brazilian, and I was nervous. Lynn worked super efficiently, but still paused to check in and make sure I was feeling okay. She also gave me some tips for my sensitive skin and ingrown hairs. I unfortunately wasn't able to get a glitter tattoo because they were out of stencils, but Lynn assured me I would get one next time I came in, free of charge. I will say, I opted for the numbing spray, and it wasn't worth it. It still hurt, but I don't think there's any way around that with a brazilian. It's not a pleasant feeling, lol, but I loved the results. Super smooth and didn't irritate my typically sensitive skin. I've never had a brazilian before and no one was really recommending me places, however I stumbled upon here. Booking an appointment on their website was the easiest! I arrived early to my appt and there was candy, magazines, water and some nice music playing. It smelled clean and I really like the environment, next came the big deal... you know there's kinda no turning back once you get there, you just gotta stick it out, not chicken out. I recently got a Brazilian wax done at Sugaring NYC and I'm in love with my results! My skin issues are better now and I've been hard waxing for a long time but I feel like it didn't treat my skin. I Started sugaring and there's a huge difference with how my skin looks and feels, it even grows out way slower. Why didn't I find this out before! OMG....My first time sugaring and I was SUPER nervous that it was going to hurt too much but Kisha and Victoria reassured me that it will hurt because its my first time but by the time it was over it wouldn't hurt anymore. Victoria did my Brazilian and she was great, she keep me calm and took my mind off the waxing. She explained to me everything she was doing and answered all my questions. After this experience I think i can say IM HOOKED LOL. I plan on going back for a touch up and see about getting my eyebrows done. I previously utilized the Park Slope location. I decided to not return to the location because I was constantly being rescheduled. One day I walked in for my 1 pm appointment and was informed I wouldn't be seen for 30 minutes because my Sugarista had taken her lunch break....I was truly shocked that I was just expected to wait 30 minutes past my appointment time, with no notice or any apology. I then decided to utilize the 14th st location. It was great but I continued to be cancelled on constantly. Every appointment I had scheduled would have to be rescheduled. I just kept it pushing because I get it. I work in the beauty industry. I'm a hairstylist of 15+ years and I also have owned a business I know how it is. I've had sugarista's drop globs of hot sugar where they shouldn't and hurt me and I've never made a peep. I've had them completely ignore my preferences and just do whatever they want with hair removal. I chose to end my membership a month or two ago as I just feel I'd rather go elsewhere...I was informed I had two credits and that if I'd like to utilize these credits so I don't lose the money that they could freeze my account and charge my credits when I make appointments so I couldn't be charged further...I agreed, mostly to afford myself the time to find another spot. I then received a charge 3-4weeks after my last appointment on 8/26 (this wouldn't have been my previous billing date?) Frustratingly I called the shop to correct this. It's now been a week and no one has reached out. At this point I don't want want the credits. I want to be refunded and to never return because I don't deserve this treatment. I feel like an inconvenience to this business.

My wax technician, Emily, was always professional, kind, and wonderful. She is the only reason I stayed as long as I did. In November 2025, the receptionist at the Chelsea location forged my signature on a renewed wax package without my consent. About two months before this happened, Debbie told me my package was going to run out and asked if I wanted to renew. At that time, I clearly said no. She specifically told me that when I did renew, I should go to her and not the other receptionist. Two months later, I noticed charges of over $100 from EWC on my bank account. When I asked about it, she told me it was for a package I had renewed. I told her I never renewed any package and asked if there was a signed document on file. She initially told me there was no signature. After I contacted the manager, Alyssa Lando, she sent me a copy of a document that supposedly had my signature -- but it only showed the initials "YN." I have a unique signature and would never sign using just my initials. There were multiple spaces showing my initials as consent for the renewal, which I never signed or authorized. I informed the manager that this was false. Her response was that they have never had issues with this employee and that she has worked there for a long time. I asked her to review the video footage from that day at the front desk, which would clearly show I never signed anything. She told me the footage does not go back that far -- even though I was only requesting footage from one month prior. My personal Blink camera stores footage longer than that, so it is hard to understand how a large franchise cannot access footage from one month ago. The manager was dismissive and unprofessional. The company is allowing this receptionist to continue working there despite what I believe is fraudulent behavior. I know I cannot be the only customer this has happened to. This situation was extremely disappointing and unacceptable.

I have a love-hate relationship with EWC and other big chains because the quality is so…read moreinconsistent from salon to salon. I came in as a walk-in when they opened on Saturday morning because I missed my appointment on Friday at my usual place on account of the weather. They were able to accommodate me almost immediately which I was very grateful for. EWC uses hard wax for their services, which I like because it is much gentler for sensitive skin as it grabs only the hair and not the skin, unlike soft wax. This means you can usually do more than one pass over the same area if you have stubborn hairs. Furthermore, hard wax cools down and hardens quickly so you can only apply in small patches which ensures less mess and pain. My esthetician was very nice and we made conversation while she got to work. I did feel that the wax dragged on my skin a bit so I'm not sure if the wax wasn't warm enough but it made things a little uncomfortable for me. She was thorough and tweezed some remaining strays for me and I noted that she immediately started disinfecting after my service ended so I do believe this is a very clean and hygienic salon. However, I am rating my experience 2 stars because when I returned home, I noticed I had a few bruises which in my experience is not common and usually happens with improper waxing techniques or inexperienced waxers. There were also a few spots that were not clean either. Overall, I'm a little disappointed with my experience as it had a lot of potential but failed at the execution.

The address listed on the Groupon does NOT match the address using Google maps, so it's best to ask for exact directions. After leaving my information, no one called to check and see if I was on the way. I eventually showed up 2 hours late. The women were kind, and gentle, however, if it weren't for Groupon, I probably would've never walked into this place for a body wax. It just didn't *feel* and look clean. Be prepared to pay a mandatory $6 tax AFTER redeeming your Groupon, and that $6 will also be taxed making your total an extra $6.32 and top is optional. After my wax, I immediately started feeling a burning sensation and it may have to do with the baby oil these salons like to put all over your body which is definitely not recommended. PLEASE STOP PUTTING BABY OIL ALL OVER OUR SKIN after waxing!!! I wouldn't return because of the distance, clean feeling in the wax room, and it's nothing special.

She said she'd customize it to my skin, but what happened next was mostly just a lot of irritation. She did a chemical peel on me that left my skin feeling dry and irritated. I was hoping for some hydration, but we moved on to extractions and then did some kind of electromagnetic thing to my skin that felt bad after the mask. She did put what was supposed to be a hydrating mask on my face, but with everything else she did I still left this facial feeling dry and irritated. I've had plenty of facials before, and the extractions for this one were so, so painful. I had red marks on my face for days afterwards. I will not be back here. Come at your own risk.

As I was being treated by a Colombian immigrant, I was reluctant to tell her just how bad a job she was doing (going very fast), causing me too much pain for the thin, not fully grown out hair I had. I was surprised to be hurting as much as I did given the better wax, but it wasn't the wax but the person and the hurried method. I was being treated to a quick and shoddy job, yet the pre-set tip was expected. (I still regret I paid her the full tip out of pity rather than for the job done.) Within 24 hours I started feeling tingling painful sensations in my crotch and hair was growing out. The pain soon started turning to bumbs and itching, and for the first time in 45 years I had a bumpy and irritated skin. The hair had all been broken rather than pulled out. It is now less than a month, and the hair is nearly an inch long. When waxing is properly done, it takes more a month for the hair to start growing out. I called the location to compain a 8 days later, and was told that their manager would contact me. It's now two weeks or more after that and I was never contacted. Do yourselves a favor and boycott these chains that exploit workers who then mishandle clients. You can get your painful waxes and impersonal treatments where you can feel dehumanized like a factory animal at Chinese joints for less money. You don't want the same shitty experience for a lot more money. I understand the staff are poorly trained, incompetent, and underpaid, but if I relied on people's tips I'd try not to damage their skin. I'm in my 40s and have more than two decades of experience being waxed in many countries in Europe (from eastern to western) and in NYC, and NYC is by far the worst experience every single time, regardless of how fancy they're supposed to be because they charge you exorbitantly. I get waxed in France multiple times a year for a fraction and barely feel the effect of hair being pulled, because they're well trained professionals and take pride in a job well done.

I saw her for a Brazilian wax (a service Yelp oddly lacks detailed reviews on). She was efficient, thorough, knowledgeable, and super personable. Let's be real--Brazilians are never exactly fun--but she managed to make it as painless as possible. I also struggle a lot with ingrown hairs, even though I exfoliate regularly, and she's the first person to give me real, actionable advice beyond the usual "just use an African exfoliating net." Game changer! Laura made sure I was comfortable the entire time and even checked before tweezing--something I personally don't mind, but I know others might appreciate the heads-up. As for the location, this Uni K was fine--not as updated as some others I've been to (like the ones in Kip's Bay or Williamsburg). It's not the closest spot to me, but I'll 100% be back to see Laura. The receptionist was also lovely, which is always a bonus. Overall--5 stars. Thank you, Laura!
