As many have already stated, this "law firm" is bottom of the barrel scum. They have zero ethics. While other debt collectors offer settlements. these people refuse to offer or except reasonable offers. They always fake put you on hold to see if they can accept the settlement offer you give. You can never speak to a supervisor to discuss the settlements. I have to question the courts in working with these people, because the letters state you have a certain number of days before any action is taken and yet they seem to produce documents with a judgement issued against you. I am currently making monthly payments to them, and I sent my payment in 6 days late. Payment is due the 21st, I got a letter dated the 25th that they went to court to start the process of wage garnishment. So where are our rights? They bypass the process of getting a default judgement before moving forward with a garnishment? They can't answer any questions without putting you on hold and they leave you so long hoping you will hang up. I will also be filing complaints with NJ Consumer Protection, NJ Bar Association, and NJ Consumer Affairs, as well as the BBB. Honestly, I set up my husband's payment plan for his credit card in 2022 with them, and I called because we got a letter stating a payment was missed. They refused to talk to me, but there was no problem speaking with me in 2022 when I set it all up! Not only am I the one who makes the payments out of our account with his debit card. I also keep a printout from the bank with all the payments from them. We get no statements, so I have proof of the setup and each payment made for the 3-year agreement that has just two payments left as of today May 2025. In my opinion the most unethical so called law firm ever to practice in the state of NJ. Too many issues to even list here...in summary, they file with the court for a potential judgement, however, you can not speak to anyone at this firm. Rather they employ staff from India that speak off a script. As soon as you ask them something off the script, they hang up. I made numerous attempts to reach an actual attorney at this firm unsuccessfully. Even scheduling calls for a return call by one of their attorneys. Never received a call back, although they will lie and indicate they tried to call you back but your voicemail was full. No, my voicemail was not full and there is no record in my call log that shows anyone called. You will have to come up with a new scheme for this...people have smart phones and can see who calls. I have already filed a complaint with the state of NJ department of Consumer Protection, who have in the past levied fines of over a million dollars against them. They changed their name from Pressler & Pressler to Pressler, Feltz and Warshaw and continued the same unethical practices they were already fined for. I am also in the process of filing an ethics complaint with the NJ Bar association. We were making every attempt to satisfy the bill, however, this was made to be utterly impossible when dealing with this firm. Please go and read the other reviews on this form. A cursory look on Google quickly reveals that 'Pressler, Felt & Warshaw', AKA 'Sheldon, Felt & Warshaw', AKA 'Pressler & Pressler', along with a host of similar names, have proven themselves to be an unscrupulous collection mill, repeatedly sued and fined by government agencies for their illegal practices.  My Story After living in England for nearly two decades, I was notified by my bank, in early May 2022, that 'Sheldon, Felt & Warshaw' a business I had never heard of until last month, placed a lien on my bank account for a fifteen year old 'default judgement'. Who, or what the fifteen year old judgement was for was never identified to myself nor the bank. I spent over thirty hours trying to track down how this unethical New Jersey collection mill could have been granted a judgement against me in 2007, when I had been living in England since 2003. I called their phone number, 973-753-5100, dozens of times, only to be repeatedly disconnected. Nobody at 'Sheldon, Felt & Warshaw', the name identified on the 2007 court order, as representing an outfit called 'Palisades Collections', would speak with me. Eventually I discovered that they claim to have served me with a summons and complaint, at a New Jersey address I never lived at, or worked at, four years after I had moved to England. The only time I was in New Jersey was nearly twenty years ago. At that time I had no debt and I still don't. 'Pressler, Felt & Warshaw', AKA 'Sheldon, Felt & Warshaw', AKA 'Pressler & Pressler', et al. has been caught repeatedly filing unsubstantiated, illegal automated lawsuits in New Jersey Court. The court should have banned them long ago and the attorneys working for them should have their licenses revoked by the state of New Jersey. Meanwhile, even though they have no jurisdiction in California, the state I live in, they create a ton of grief for unsuspecting victims of their fraudulent practices. Since this whole thing started, I have been filing detailed complaints about them with local, state and federal agencies and will continue to do so until I am fully exonerated. I've been dealing with these guys since they were just Pressler & Pressler (about 20 years now and they still haven't been able to get a dime out of me!) Back then I thought it was a legit debt and tried to work with them, but eventually found out it was complete BS. They even once sent me a fake warrant in the mail for my arrest! LOL. I thought they disappeared but they're back now with a new name saying they're collecting on behalf of blah blah blah. I never received anything from them about it and then today I got a 'letter' saying they put a levy on 'my' bank account. The only problem is they didn't levy MY bank account. It simply lists the bank closest to my last known address. I've talked to people at the banks and this is what they do. They send a blanket levy to the banks they think you may use and then they hold the accounts of everyone that has that name (which this particular bank doesn't). Last time I dealt with them I actually went to court to have the 'judgement' vacated and the court clerk actually couldn't find it. Other than the paper they sent me it seemingly didn't even exist. They're nothing but bullies and you have to handle them in the same manner. Best bet, find a lawyer in your area. There's usually someone in your county/state who deals with these people on a regular basis and can handle your case for pennies on the dollar of what they claim you owe. The collector [The Dermatology Group, now Schweiger Group) used Pressler Law Firm for the collection, which wasn't my fault at all: it began with then insurance coverage was terminated without my knowledge then I disputed their services as the charge was enormous, forcing me to pay out of pocket in spite of poor service results (only huge bill). This firm got a judgment against me as then the retained lawyer totally ignored the hearing date. They now threatening to arrest/incarcerate/bank levy, etc. I first reported to a federal agency (CFPB) and filed a motion to the court/ Yet, the court as usual is side of big guy not a powerless senior citizen. Top of that, this law firm never answered the phone but only auto machine responds to collect MONEY. I've tried to contact the firm for over 20 times by email and phone this year only. NO PERSON RESPONDED to my EMAILS, PHONE CALLS for MANY YEARS. Why don't you answer the phone so I can discuss how to resolve this, instead of SENDING ME (who had a poor vision after a wrongful eye surgery and surviving from cancer surgery and recovering when the judgment was issued. There trying to collect a debt from 97 in which the firm bought debts from Providian Bank a visa and claims I owe over 7K on it. Were talking 22 yrs ago the sharks already levied my checking accts 3x and took 700$ they are relentless to get money unethically. Their strategy is to send certified mail of the subpoena for civil court so if you don't get it they win the judgement automatically by default. Most cases are won by them through this same method not to mention the firm has a relative on the civil court division in Bergen county related to the lawyers. So on 3/15/96 I filed bankruptcy in Newark NJ and was granted a chapter 7 status when i proved hardship and owed 30K in credit cards so what creditor in less then a year later after declaring bankruptcy is gonna give me massive amount of credit in which they claim. The card was for 500$ visa they had mailed me and i exhausted it so when Pressler bought this debt how did $7000 get tacked on it and never was told to me but 22 yrs later am I paying 6500$ interest apparently illegal and not made aware of it and besides they cant show me charges of this amount in which I requested but according to my lawyer they don't have to prove it once they win the default judgement. This group of debt collection lawyers should be disbarred in both NJ & NY for continually filing small frivolous civil suits. They have relentless pursued me for $386 debt I feel I do not owe and will not, nor cannot pay. They continue to disrupt and harass me and my family by their ongoing tenacious attempts to intimidate me. I have responded to the NJ Supreme Court in Morris County, as well as addressed my defenses and the situation for the reasons I am disputing any balance or the alleged coinsurance, I am disputing from 2 surgeries by my ENT doctors at which I underwent at Chilton Hospital in Wayne. This Anesthesiologist bill balance for General Anesthesia from 2 different surgeries by 2 different anesthesiologists BUT from the very same Anesthesiology group, who either are employed by or bill out as NJ Healthcare Specialists, failed to communicate with each other by sharing crucial information that is in my medical chart, no less, and they should have been easily aware of before administering a cocktail of GA drugs that I was allergic to and had a reaction to post surgery. As a result of this negligence I feel I do not owe any such balance and therefore should not be responsible for such due to the reactions I had suffered and experienced from both oral or the IV lidocaine, epinephrine, as well as, other drugs and gases administered during the procedure that caused a very uncomfortable and distressing irregular heart rhythm and may even have exacerbated my intermittent existing arrhythmia-most likely according to my cardiologist. I also informed The ENT doctor who performed both surgeries, the same or following day on BOTH occasions. My point is these overzealous eager lawyers need to get a real life and TRY REAL cases and not waste the courts time when their is s valid dispute and defense to to both the plaintiff and their eager and desperate attorney, Pressler & Pressler. I am not intimidated and will fight them pro se tooth and nail to avoid any default judgment which would be un-collectable even if the judge granted one.
