The trees are low enough not to require ladders so they're kid friendly (and for those of us who are fun-sized). The orchard offered a beautiful view of the hills in the background covered in fall trees when I went in early October. There was also a little pumpkin patch that was perfect for pictures! Many people visit Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard but you don't get the same experience since you don't get to pick the apples right off the trees. However, we did visit Fly Creek (which is a fun experience too!) the next day and I thought that the apple cider doughnuts from here were much better - they were softer and denser! I also compared it to some doughnuts that my cousin bought from another orchard in PA and Middlefield's still comes up on top! I definitely recommend here for your traditional fall apple-picking/apple cider doughnut-eating/pumpkin-picking experience! One of them was teaching a 13-year-old girl how to run the register and then another gentleman who appeared to be in his mid to late 70s approach the counter as my items were being rung up I'm retired Air Force and had a US Air Force retired ball cap on my head. I asked the folks behind the counter kindly if they provided a military discount, the two gentlemen behind the counter, looked at the older gentleman who I am presuming is the owner of the Orchard and who was standing at the end of the counter by this point looked up in my hat, gave me a smirk and said I think your retirement should be paying for mine and then walked away. I didn't appreciate the comment. All he had to say was no we don't provide a discount and I would've been happy with that. It appears to me that this Apple, orchard owner is not veteran friendly and I will not return. My presumption is not based off of the lack of a discount is based off of his statement which I didn't appreciate be prepared for sticker shock for those few things I paid almost $100 for it.

There were knowledgeable staff around willing to answer any and all questions. The trailer was back up to the orchard frequently and we were able to head back down pretty much as soon as we wanted to. It was not nearly as crowded as other places we've been and we enjoyed that. Cute chickens running around was a bonus. Don't skip out on the warm, fresh apple cider donuts or a pint of cider - so yummy and a great way to end the day apple picking!

They had buckets for each of us. We picked about 6 pounds in less than an hour. They mentioned there were some different varieties and we sampled a few. We will definitely be back again. Now it's time to make some pancakes or muffins!

The open fields are a welcome change from being indoors, and you can pick whatever fruits you like. The farm leaves quart containers out on a stand for you to pick up and use while picking fruit, and you just drive to the fields. Then you bring the containers to the register with what you picked. They offer a reasonable price for fresh fruit. It's fun, relaxing, and great for all ages.

There are over 400 apple trees here with different varieties. Coming from NYC and visited large/ touristy orchards in Long Island and Westchester -- this is a cute little pick your own place I really enjoyed. It's quiet and very clean. We came here on a rainy day and got ourselves 10lbs of very nice apples. Yum! If you are looking for something low key to do in the area you should check it out. It's also a good break from all that wine tastings along the Keuka Lake.
