This one's for the service department. I haven't bought a vehicle here yet - already owned two fairly new vehicles when we moved to Jasper. But began taking my Ford truck here for regular service - mostly oil changes. Then started bringing my Hyundai Sonata as well - not as good of luck with the Hyundai dealer - which is a 45 minute drive to the closest one. Service appoints are pretty easy through the web site. Very little waiting to drop off, and service is usually performed in a reasonable amount of time. One recent event bears special mention: I bought tires for the truck here last year - the 80,000 mile Michelin set at the dealer cost about the same here as the 40,000 mile "other" brand at the local tire shop. So when it was time for the Hyundai to get new sneakers, I came back here to shop. I chose a mid-level tire for this one - the price was great and I ordered a set to be installed the following weekend. When I arrived, the car was taken to the shop. A few minutes later, the service manager came to the waiting room with an embarrassed look on his face... when the delivery arrived, they got only one of the 4 tires I ordered. Oops!! "So what do we do," said I. He called around and found a better set than I ordered and offered them for the same price. No complaints from me! It took a little more time than I had expected, but I was released the same day, so I didn't have to come back. I was told later that the other three tires arrived two days after my appointment. Now, I could complain that I wasn't told that the complete order wasn't received on time, but the staff on hand was honest and did their best to correct the problem with a minimum of fuss. Caveat: I'm a long-time DIY mechanic. I decided to stop doing oil changes and routine service when I bought my 2012 F-150. I'll still change brake pads and do other replacement part service - I enjoy it and my local AutoZone provides lifetime warranties in whatever parts I get there. But the "works" package from Ford (oil/filter with inspection and tire rotation) costs me only a little more than the cost of oil and the filter. As a DIY-er, I don't have a lot of recommendations for mechanics, but I can say that our local Ford shop does a great job! read more

I was working with Ivan and Rich for a couple weeks now. I was finally given number on a lease for a 2026 Mustang GT Premium that I was happy with. I live almost 2 hours and 100 miles round trip from the dealer, so I was waiting until we got within the range I was looking for before making the drive up, and we did, or so I thought. I got there, they had the paper with the numbers on it, we were going to finalize everything until they came back and did the old bait and switch and said the numbers they provided were numbers for an EcoBoost and not the GT Premium. I wasted that time, put those miles on my trade-in, and I thought I was driving away with the new car since the deal was basically already done. I made an appointment for a transmission flush with Richard Schwarz. He quoted me $275 for the service . I dropped off the truck ( 2022 F150), and went back up to pick it up the next day. When he handed me the bill, I was surprised to see it was for $336, over $60 more than he quoted me. When asked about it, he hemmed and hawed, and admitted he made a mistake in telling me the wrong price. I agreed to pay it, just to get out of there. Then I noticed that the invoice was only for 8 quarts of Mercon ULV transmission oil- it takes 13.1 quarts of oil to do a flush. When I asked about it, we had to go consult a tech ( Tony), who told us that they had "lost the adaptor" and could not do full flushes. They did a partial flush and called it good. So, now, 5 quarts of old fluid is contaminating the 8 quarts of ( very expensive) new transmission fluid , which has remnants of worn clutch linings, and swarf from the manifacturing process in it. After just having accepted an offer to a new job, I knew that my work expectations called for a newer truck. After looking at a ton online, my dad and I ran across a Shottenkirk Ford Facebook post. Keep in mind this was posted by their verified official Facebook account. The post included a graphic that showed "$4,000 off" in huge font, then below it said "get $4000 off now for lease, trade-in, auction, etc." So, my dad reached out via FB messenger with a screenshot of an available truck from their website along with questions about how to use the voucher. He received a response with no name and vague information that said " It's easy, schedule an appointment with me, lock in your voucher, and pick out your new truck." So, he tried to do so. They responded that the discount event manager would be in touch soon. A day and a half went by and he had not heard anything, so we decided to go to the dealership (1 hour drive from my office) after work to look at the truck and hopefully to speak to somebody who was actually helpful. We dealt with Landon and Ivan. Right off the bat, they offered $4k+ less for my current truck than KBB trade-in value. After an unnecessary waste of an hour, they finally came up to a slightly more reasonable number. However, once we went on to discuss the price of the truck that we were interested in, they first claimed that they knew nothing about the $4000 voucher. Then, after looking at it, they spouted a bunch of BS about how I was ineligible and the voucher was in applicable in my situation. All these nonsense qualifications that they said I did not meet were not detailed anywhere or in any way on the post from Facebook, so my dad and I walked out and left. Right as we finished our hour drive back home last night, a different salesman named Daryl "DW" called my dad all apologetic and kept asking, "What do I need to do to make y'all happy?" So, we said that the only way we would even consider continuing ANY conversation would be if they honored the $4000 voucher THAT THEY ADVERTISED! This morning, my dad texted Daryl multiple times throughout the day and was completely blown off. Around 6pm this evening, Daryl finally texted my dad a picture of a printed out deal with the message "Here is the deal. We are losing money on this"... The supposed "deal" was literally worse than what had been proposed the night before in person. Therefore, my dad and I have now wasted hours on the road, gas money, hours in person, and hours on the phone with these scamming lowlifes. MORAL OF THE STORY: Do not walk, but RUN away from Shottenkirk Ford. They are fraudulent, scamming, deceitful scumbags. They couldn't care less about you or your needs, they just want your money. Every.damn.penny. Don't trust their social media, their salesmen, or even their sales managers. Disclaimer: If you're unfortunate enough to walk in Shottenkirk Ford, expect for 1% of what you're told to be factual, know that their "market value" is an internally generated BS number that is likely 30% over TRUE MARKET VALUE, then if somehow you're still there, expect to pay an additional $2k or more in mandatory Shottenkirk junk fees on top of vehicle price. Our purchase seemed seamless until the paperwork was signed. We were told we had paint coverage and lost key fob coverage for a year. We were told this option could not be taken off when we were in finance and I asked the finance guy several questions prior to signing the paperwork. Unfortunately I lost one of my keys and went to get a new key and was told it would be over $500. Called and asked for detailed finance paperwork and was ghosted. Tried to schedule service for 2 months to no avail. Finally took to a different dealership in Cumming and was taken care of immediately. They did repair an issue that was wrong with my window, however they damaged the paint which was reported to the service advisor I was working with and he ghosted me as well. Customer service is not their top priority. I will never purchase a car from any Shottenkirk dealership again. I always refer to any other dealership when asked about my experience. read more

On Sept. 10th I purchased a 2024 Expedition, the 5th vehicle I have bought from them. I'm a 100% disabled veteran. I took a copy of my disability letter for my for my Advalorum Tax exemption. On Oct. 1st at approximately 10 AM I called the Canton Tag Office to inquire about the paperwork to transfer my Disabled Veteran Tag off of my traded in vehicle to the new car. I was told they hadn't received the information from the dealer. At 10:30 AM I received a call from Shottenkirk Ford that the paperwork was delivered to the Canton Tag office at 10.21AM.I called the tag office back and they confirmed that thay had received the necessary papers and once the processed them I could cone by and switch the tag. .A few minutes past 11AM I received a call from the Asst. finance manager. He asked to speak to Jesse Hawk, I said this is Jesse.At that point he raised his voice and shouted " You need to come up here right now and bring us $29??.00 dollars for the Tax on the Expedition. Your exemption was rejected by the State and we are responsible for collecting the tax. It's making us look bad and you are not exempt from the tax". "I said wait a minute, I've listened to you, now you listen to me. I'll call the tag office back and take care of this". The tag office explained to me that I could only be exempt on one vehicle and I was responsible for the tax. I requested the total amount due They said it was 3021.84. I immediately took a check to Shottenkirk. The sales rep who sold me the car intercepted me coming into the showroom and said he would take the check. The assistant finance manager has no phone manners or communication skills. He is belligerent, overbearing, rude and has no concept of common courtesy. I called the dealership later that day and asked to speak to the General manager. I was told he was't in, so I asked to make an appointment with him. She told me that she couldn't make an appointment But she would leave a message for him to call me. As of this writing I have't heard from him. If the person had checked he would have Known That when I punched the car that I wrote a check for $42912.00 plus my trade in. But insinuation that I was trying to cheat Shottenkirk or the state is unfounded. Finding the vehicle that fits your budget and taste is easy as they have what I was looking for and many others. Working with the sales staff was an ok experience however I brought in an approval letter from my bank and one of the banks they use. They still proceeded to run my credit thru more than my fingers and toes when I told them not to. This directly affected my credit and one of the banks that ran my credit was breached by hackers and I am trying to still fix it. Lucky I have protection. The service department wants to keep your vehicle for 24 -72 hours just to diagnose a vehicle and has a pour attitude. They told us we had to make an appointment and bring the vehicle in. Once it was there, We were told we needed $2,000 in repairs, plus another $600 for tires. Only after multiple calls and digging were we told that our vehicle didn't have any active recalls. We asked for and authorized nothing but the recall check (that could have been done over the phone). When we went to pick it up, we were charged a $99 "diagnostic fee" before we could get our vehicle back. Terrible, rude service, bait and switch tactics. Twice this week my car would not start due to a dead battery. I had purchases the battery in March of this year with a 36 month warranty. When I was able to jump it off and return to the store, they tested and said the battery was ok - maybe something was drawing down the power. So, I called two Ford dealerships and was told by both locations it would be 3 weeks before I could get a service appointment. I then called Shottenkirk, spoke to John in their service department, and found someone willing to assist me that day. He encouraged me to bring the car in and they would do their best to look into the problem and get it back to me by Friday - two days before Christmas. I drove the car to Jasper within the hour and was assisted by Rocky, another service rep. He also was very accommodating and said he would call once a diagnosis was determined. He called me today and advised it was a defective battery. They tested it and found it would not hold a charge. All the assistance they gave me as a first time customer was free - no charge for anything. ABSOLUTELY the best Customer Service I have received at a dealership EVER. So I drove 2 hours on my day off only to get there and be told the truck is in the shop and we don't know when it will be back. Ever since we have had issues with the salespeople being unclear and directly lying about the quality of work including adding on expensive warranties. If you buy a car from here, be diligent and question everything. These sales personnel will try to talk you into a "sweet deal" by telling all types of stories about their lives and the cars when not everything is as it seems. Regardless, the value is in my car, and I got excellent gas mileage. I have to be honest about the quality of service at this place. Do not buy at ShottenKirk Ford or at least at this location. I began having issues with the car I purchased within 12 hours. It has now been in the shop 8 times. They send it out to be fixed so I am without my car for one to two weeks at a time. I have shown them videos of issues and it still took 5 trips to get the sunroof repaired. They had to replace the stereo and it came back to me without apple car play. It ended up being 3 weeks total without my car to get them to replace apple car play. I had to prove to them I had it. Hello- they sold me the car and advertised it with apple car play. They have now had it another 9 days for another issue of which I have a video of. After 3 days they called and said they couldn't re-create it. Again they have the video at that point hey had not even sent it out for diagnostics. I should not have to lose my temper for this service department to do their job and use the extended warranty they told me was wonderful when I bought it. My service rep ask me if I wanted to trade and I said no I want your dealership to buy it back. I've asked for management to call me several times and they never do. I was promised a piece of trim that was cracked would be replaced when I bought it and each time I ask about that its forgotten. I wanted to buy from a local dealership but have found this dealership doesn't care. I feel like its been in the shop more than I've had it and that's not how this is supposed to go. Took my wife's suv in for a 100k mile tune up. Customer service was good and was easy to set up the appointment and communication was good, because I received a call around 11 telling me that all my fluids and everything looked good, and that the carbon build up was why the car was idling rough. Then I don't get a call for almost 4 hours so I call back now all of a sudden after I get the call at 11 saying everything was good and checked out I get told that there is a hose that has a coolant leak. They told me it looked like it had been leaking for a while which I know isn't correct because this suv is garage kept, and I do routine maintenance personally. I have never smelt a coolant leak or seen signs of coolant on the concrete pad in the garage. Then I get told that it was leaking on the turbo so I probably wouldn't of seen a leak, but I still would of smelled coolant especially if it was burning. Also told me that for an extra 250 that they would replace the hose this already on top of the cost on the 100k mile service. When I go to pick up the suv and look under the hood and can see where they had wrapped what looks like white electricians tape around the hose in question which isn't even close to the turbo, and the overwhelming smell of coolant when you got close to the car. Just seems fishy to me that I took the car with no signs that I had a coolant leak and now after I get it serviced I have a coolant leak that is bad enough that I can smell it standing next to the car. Will be the last time I use this Ford dealership for any type of maintenance. read more

I had to wait one hour and 45 minutes for an oil change even with an appointment. The Dealership does not observe any COVID19 protocols and none of their staff wear masks. The service adviser did nothing to make up for the poor service and long wait time. Several other customers had long waits as well. I bought a 2015 Ford (Certified Pre-Owned by Ford) F150 XLT from this dealership in Jan 2018. The car buying experience was pleasant and had no issues with the purchase of the truck. However, in 2020, I needed to upgrade to an F250 and went to go trade it in at another dealership when I got a pleasant surprise when the dealership ran the Carfax. Turns out the vehicle (F150) sustained moderate damage to the passenger side of the vehicle. This accident happen in Nov. 2017 and was not reported to Carfax until July 2018- 6 months after I bought the truck. How can this be allowed to happen when the truck was Certified Pre-Owned by Ford? I took a loss of value of about $5000 when I traded it in and not to mention the fact that I paid more for it since it was "supposedly" Certified Pre-Owned. There was no sense in trying to pursue this legally since I live in Tennessee. Attorney fees would have negated any $$ if I received any from this dealership not mention the time and hassle to deal with this BS. If you are in the market for a used car, I would highly use caution in purchasing from this dealership- especially if it is "Certified Pre-Owned". You have been warned! The vehicle I was interested in was already marked above market value by $2k on the Carfax that the dealership sent me. I questioned if he could discount the price. He came back with not much of a discount, I offered to finance with the dealership which I have always received better pricing. I was told due to the fact that the manufacture shut down and they would be building less trucks the price of used vehicles have increased. I made countless offers to come to an agreement with no movement from sales. I felt like I was at one of those no haggle no hassle pay us what we say or you can't buy our vehicle. Short story if your looking for a good deal and a pleasant sales manager skip this dealership.
