before i start my very bad review of prestige car service in the bronx, i would like to say , funk you to the wokesters who tell us to go green , carpool , save the environment and ozone layers , gas emissions, and blah blah blah . i decided to carpool around sunday morning on nfl football day , but my cuz had to work courtesy of his captain which meant he had to leave with his car asap and left me stranded in the bronx and minus my cell phone which dropped from my pocket and on the passenger floor. uber or lyft would have cost me about 35 to 40 bucks tops into astoria but with my embarrassing situation i was able to borrow a phone from the girl at the local dunkin donuts and called prestige car service which was the biggest mistake of the century . first you get automated voice nonsense and finally some dame with a nasty attitude tells me a driver is on the way with a vague info about cost of trip as i didnt know the exact address of the only applebee's in astoria and she refused to call me back with price and told me to have driver call when he arrives . the driver was clueless and didnt know the cost of trip and had to call the place which now had some dude answer who told me 70 bucks which is almost double of lyft or uber . i was pressed for time so i had to deal with this con job. what highway robbery and next time some one tells me about global warming, going green and other nonsense, i will tell them that i will take my gas guzzler and pollute the already dirty air with gas omissions just like everyone else .zero stars for unprestige car service . read more

The driver was on the phone while driving and his conversation was disgusting. The driver was very in mature. The driver wanted to charge me 15.00 dollars for a 5 min., drive. I usually get charge 7 dollars. When I told him this, he lower his price to 12.00 dollars. They have no set price. They answer the phone and put you on hold so fast you can not make out what they say. Than ask your location and where are you going than put you on hold again. If you do not answer fast they get annoyed and try to ask a question. read more

Had me outside waiting even tho it said eta 3 mins the bus was 30 mins of wait time and i ordered the cab within 10 mins of waiting for the bus. Me and my daughter just waiting i called the company they said it will be right there and 10 more minutes passed by the bus was on its way said 6 mins away once the bus said 2 mins away i cancelled and they took my money anway. This review is for my experience with the app. I decided to try it because my friend and sister recommended it once. 1. My driver picked up the wrong passenger at first. Didn't even confirm. He's lucky I found his car before they pulled off at the red light. I got in and the other passenger got out. 2. Driver verbally changed the price from $24.75 which was on the app to telling me it's now $35 and then making a phone call to to another person saying it's now $32. 3. Halfway through the ride my ride is cancelled on the app and no longer exists. The driver claims it's because of a $2.75 charge that they would've given me for passing 96th street and coming into the city from the Bronx. That makes no sense! Why was my ride cancelled in the database? 4. Driver was taking me to the wrong address. He drove 8 minutes past my area before I realized and told him to turn back around. 5. My driver was chewing/popping his gum and kept his mask off the whole time. This was a terrible service! My first time trying it. I will never use it again. read more

I've used this car service for personal and I've use them for medical and I've never experienced the amount of rudeness and disrespect from an employee from the medical car service in my life. "Louis" is what he said his name was, was very rude over the phone and extremely disrespectful because I asked him simply why if a service is reserved for a particular time that they show up extremely late which makes me late for my appointments and so I'm unable to be seen by my doctor because of a late arrival he said yelling " THATS NOT MY PROBLEM!" And then proceeded to hang up the phone on me. I called back, I'm assuming I spoke with a supervisor Maria, very pleasant in regard to the matter she said would take care of it. Very quick response. Cars are very kept both inside and out. Interiors are clean and the prices are reasonable, better than Uber.

The phone service is really bad.. I called and waited o. Hold for ten min then was told 5min the cab would be here. The cab never showed so I called back only to stay on hold until the call ended. They could have been honest and told me the cab couldn't make it or anything at all would have be better then not knowing... I say they are a pretty reliable car service when your comparing with general UBER rates so far they have been the same for me. I had one really good driver NEEM who was driving a sporty Toyota Camry black. The other drivers I had recently were great as well and as I said after comparing rates it seem like a great option overall. The time is now 4:24 am I called the base to get a drop off price because the driver was unsure about the price. I called 4x, the 1st time the guy put my on only b4 I got the full question out and after being put on hold for over 3 minutes with no return i hung up and caleed back 3 more time only to be placed on hold from the beginning. The driver was frustrated and so was I. I pad for my ride based on what the driver said and I know I was probably over charged (not intentionally) but the base was too busy to answer for a customer. I ordered a taxi and gave my location and where I was headed, was told a certain price only to arrive at my destination and the taxi guy charged me a totally different price, when I asked for my change back he refused , I did not want to keep arguing with him cause it was at night with no one around to witness anything incase he went crazy. I had to take a picture of his plate number after the incident, I called Prestige to report the incident and they kept me on hold for over 30min and never did anything about it. This is totally unacceptable behavior and prestige needs to do something about their drivers and hold them accountable for their behavior, passenger safety should be top priority. read more

I have used this service 5 times. I would use this service to pick up my grandmother. They give you the peace of mind that you will reliably get somewhere on time- maybe even early! The typical experience: You place an easy and efficient call to the service. Shortly after, your driver gives you a personal call to confirm time and location. They almost always appear 15 minutes early and patiently wait for you. If it was a last minute reservation, they will usually show up within 10-15 minutes after your call! Their reliability is consistent 24-7- even in the middle of the night or very early in the morning. The car that you get into is usually newer, clean, safe, and comfortable. The driver you are with is also safe, friendly, and honest. The cost might be 10-15$ more than Carmel, Dial 7's, or All State. HOWEVER, you have peace of mind that they will be available, reliable, and prompt. read more

This will be a long one... I've used these guys three times now, all of which were early morning rides from Bronx to JFK for business trips. (That route costs about $70 if you're wondering.) The first two trips were fine; the drivers arrived 10 minutes ahead of the scheduled pick up time as is usual for them according to the reviews here. The third time was nearly a complete disaster. I had a 9 am flight, so I called the day before to schedule a pick up. The dispatcher said no problem, a driver will be in front of my building at 6 am. When I saw that I received no phone call at 5:45, I started to think that maybe something was wrong. Then it was 5:50 and no car was outside. 6 am came and went, so I called to see what the status was, but couldn't get a hold of anyone. I called again every 5 minutes until 6:30, at which point I decided to try other car services. None were available at such an early hour, however. I finally decided to try Prestige again at 6:45 am, because why not, right? Someone finally answered the phone, and told me that he didn't see any reservation for me in the system. I was pretty pissed at that point. The dispatcher was able to find an available driver, which I attribute only, to luck since I'd have been completely screwed otherwise. The replacement driver arrived at 7 am, one hour late. Of course, that wasn't his fault, and he was surprised that the whole debacle occurred. Since it was getting to rush hour, it took a whole hour to get to JFK, plus another half hour to get through the airport security checkpoint. During all that time, I was thinking I might still be screwed, but thanks to the substitute driver and the mobile check-in app on my smartphone, I made it just in time. I won't go so far as to say I'll never use Prestige again. However, I'm sure I'll do so with trepidation in the future. They're the closest car service to my home, so it's hard to rule them out completely. Hopefully, this horrible experience was just a one time occurrence. read more

Writing from my car that was 25 minutes late! The only reason I'm in it is that it's rush hour and I couldn't hail a yellow taxi. I booked this car yesterday to get me to my daughter's Christmas recital. Once in a lifetime event and looks like I will miss it. I trusted the good reviews on yelp but got a dud driver. This is a company that does not care to be courteous to their potential customers. The dispatchers are rude and barely let you get a word in! You get put on hold almost immediately and after having you on hold for forever, if they can't find any available drivers they just curtly say no and hang up. No "I'm sorry ma'am there are no available drivers currently." They blame you for not mentioning that you need to pay by card but they don't give you a chance to even SAY that before they abruptly put you on hold! I was called a bitch by a dispatcher tonight and he spoke to me very rudely when I tried to ask for pricing from Crosby to Crotona. I have used Prestige for years. I have always loved this car company. Never had issues until recently. The dispatchers are becoming more short and abrupt. They are disrespectful. They are rude. And clearly dont care about you speaking to a manager because they seem not to get reprimanded. I was shocked at how rude he was and I am very hurt and angry because like I said this has been my go to cab company for years. I am irritated beyond relief right now. I used Prestige over 15 times already. There's good prices (I got last time from 219th st to Midtown for $45+ tips) and usually you don't wait them for too long because all drivers have GPS and the company can see where's the cab. So, when they tell you "he will be in 5 min" they actually see where's the driver. Cars are private but usually nice and new. Only one thing: sometimes you call them and actually they don't have any available cabs. If you're in rush it's a bit disappointing because in the Bronx you won't find a lot cab services in general.I had two accidents when I stacked in Bronx because of that and was late for my gigs. They don't have scheduled pick up service. This is only why I 4 stars for them. read more

I had an important test to take so did not want to stress over public transit on the commute there. I decided to call Prestige and make a car appointment. After asking for a confirmation email the guy on the phone said they didn't do that but it was all taken care of. When I was all ready to go that next morning, no car ever showed up. After this experience I highly recommend Prestige for all the dare devils out there. I work at Jacobi, testing for COVID and providing the best care I can as a Nurse Practitioner in spite of the current risk. My native language is French but I speak English and Spanish. When my car broke down and I had to leave it at the shop, I asked the main entrance Hospital Police person what they would recommend - they said Prestige, bueno. I called once, asking for a ride that would take a credit card. On hold for 10 minutes then was told no car available, hung up. I called Kiss which was on the front desk list, did not even get an answer after holding for 10 minutes. I called Prestige again since they told me I could try again in 5, OK. They told me 3 minutes wait. I got a Uber driver who was very nice but once we got to destination in South New Rochelle, told me he did not have a direction and was not told about card payment so I could not pay by card. I let you figure out what was going on - the driver told me he took some drives from Prestige to get cash payments so he would not have to pay taxes. Felt bad and we drove somewhere else to allow me to overpay him, it was an adventure. I am a single mom of a half Jamaican kid with no support just in case anyone cares. One, i usually love riding Prestige because they're prices are always decent. So i frequent them often. Today i took one to work, google said it'll be a 30 min trip, so I ordered one 50 mins before i had to be at work. Two, i always disliked the wait to find a diver. But i was prepared for it, 20 whole minutes just in case time. Three, they want to be getting drivers that are pretty far, 10-15 minutes wait. Again i was prepared. Back to today, i get in my car. We leave, we're on the way (i know the way very well, cause i cab it to work or ny husband drives). I fall asleep because i'm tired, wake up to it being 3:01. So i ask the driver where are we? He doesnt know. I call the base for help, nothing. Then the driver proceeds to ask me to type in the address because the gps isn't saying anything. Its 3:20 at this time. I put it in and it says another 20 mins! So i asked him to let me off. On the app once i got in it said it'll 25 min to get to my destination. So from 25 to almost 1 hour! I was livid. So i call the base again, and told him what happened, and he curses me out called me a bitch. I told him, i tried to avoid this. So now im late, and got the worst CS EVER! read more

Just came from PT and was in need of a cab so I called Prestige and the Dispatcher tells me that the cab number was 579, Cab 579 comes and says the Dispatcher made and error..I call and the Dispatcher tells me another cab is coming and after 10 mins I end up taking the bus. They are efficient and cheaper than some of the companies closer to me (I'm talking to you, Crosby and Zero's), but lately they've been sending drivers who drive like maniacs. I'm riding from the East Bronx to Riverdale and some of these drivers drive 50 mph in a 20 zone. Completely unnecessary. And they like to cut other drivers off a lot. I know they want to get to places quickly (and therefore make more money), but making me nauseous in the process is uncool, man. Call at your own risk. read more

We needed a ride to JFK at 3AM from Riverdale Bronx. We called at 235 and the driver was waiting outside by 250 and sent a text that he was there but take our time. We were running late and came down at 3:07. We were met with a smile and a driver that was eager to help. He asked what music we like, what temperature, and asked how our morning was. Also, as soon as you call you give prestige your number and they send a confirmation with details about your request and the car they are sending. This was a 5 star experience! read more
