If you are skeptical - that is normal! I totally was. I dropped off my 9 month field lab to them for the 4 week boarding training program. Vader (our pup) was a quick learner and we started the structure at home, but we wanted to help him out with extra training. So we reached out to Prestige K9, and the response was very quick and the phone call to discuss what we wanted out of training was refreshing. We had him boarded over Christmas and new years, even with the holidays the results show - Vader is very attentive, listens to his commands, and is still the fun field lab we dropped off! All of our friends and family are impressed, and we are now those dog owners where people ask "how did you do that" - prestige did it! Do note you still have to keep doing the stuff at home in your routine, but we are very impressed and I would like to note Javier and especially Ally for how well they worked with Vader. We did our first follow up with ally and she is great, she brought out her dog to help Vader train with distractions and they got to play a little. This is where you want to take your dog people! Update: While we cannot go back and time and change my experience with this boarding facility, they have been very gracious and willing to rectify the situation post-stay. They have explained that their communication system will be updated and they have re-trained newer staff. They even refunded the cost of my vet bill to get my dog's injured paw looked at. I believe Prestige truly cares about their customers and dogs, and once changes are implemented, they will be a great boarding facility. I think K-9 Prestige has the potential to be good, but they really need to improve their communication and staff training. The initial phone call with Chelsea was positive and fairly informative about the boarding process. I called a week later to officially confirm the booking, and instead of having someone call me back to confirm over the phone, they sent me a text with a link to confirm the booking and pay the $100 deposit. I could've (and in hindsight, I should've) called again to get more information and ask more questions before officially confirming, but I had faith in the high reviews so I figured it would be okay. Three weeks later, I dropped my dog off in the evening. The man who greeted me didn't ask me any questions about my dog except for how much food he eats and if I wanted him to be walked around the property every day. I asked if that was an additional charge, and he told me it was not. I also mentioned that my dog could not get his ears wet during the bath at the end of the stay due to ear infection medicine, and the man told me that he would put it in the notes. He then proceeded to leash my dog and start walking him to the back room. I had to ask, "Is that it?" because he couldn't possibly just be walking away from me with no further information about my dog's five-day stay with them. At this point I had major red flags, but I was leaving on a trip the next day and really needed a place for my dog to stay. So once again, I figured I would have faith in the high reviews and trust that my dog would be safe with this company. Three days before I picked my dog up, I called to confirm that it was indeed put in the notes that my dog could not get his ears wet during the bath. When I called, no one answered the phone, and they didn't have a voicemail claiming to be Prestige K-9 (it was a generic voicemail message). I thought this was weird, so I didn't leave a message and figured I would try again in an hour or so. A little bit later, I got a text from the same number asking if I had reached anyone or if I still needed help. A text in response to a phone call is not really professional in my opinion, but I texted back in case they did not have someone readily available at all times to answer phone calls. When I brought up the fact that my dog could not get his ears wet, no one had any idea about this. They assured me it would be put in the notes this time. I also asked for an update to see how my dog was doing because he's a very nervous puppy and I think it's fair for a dog owner to want to know how their beloved pet is doing away from home. I was told that a message would be sent to the care team and that I would hear back from them. This was very strange, as I expected a direct line to the people who were actively taking care of my dog. Two days went by and I heard nothing. The morning I picked up my dog, I called early to triple check that he would not get his ears wet during the bath, and luckily this time they were aware. When I picked up my dog, I found out that the daily walks are actually an additional charge and that my dog was not walked, nor let out of the kennel run, the entire five days he stayed there. They also let me know he got a cut on one of his paws (which I later found out upon inspection was actually two separate cuts on two different toes). I understand injuries can happen with nervous dogs when staying in new places, but they didn't seem to do anything about the cuts and they were still bleeding a lot when I picked him up. They also wanted me to pay before I even saw my dog, which was ridiculous considering they couldn't give me any update on my dog's well being over the previous three days. The handle on the food scoop we left with his food also came back broken, which is not a big deal; it just adds fuel to my irritation with this whole experience. The team I checked out with were apologetic and professional, claiming they were having issues with their communication system between the office and the caretaking team and that the employee I checked in with was new. But when I'm putting my dog's life in the hands of strangers, technology issues and poor employee training CANNOT be an excuse for bad communication and misinformation. I believe the employees here do care about dogs, but until this company gets their act together, I will absolutely not be taking my dog back here. read more

Wow! What an experience! Our 7 month old puppy, Jones, had no routine or chill of any kind. He is a smaller dog who would, nip, jump, and bark at EVERYONE. Our kids had a hard time interacting with him, and he wouldn't listen to any commands. After 3 weeks at prestige K9, he is a completely different dog! His overall demeanor is so much calmer, he knows what's expected and he's happy to do the work! He is listening like a champ to his commands, interacting with our young kids without jumping or nipping, and is sleeping in a crate overnight without any protest (he would NEVER sleep in the crate beforehand) we are so proud of all the hard work he's put in and are SO INCREDIBLY grateful for the trainers that worked with him. I was nervous at first thinking she might not even want to return to me after or might forget our established routine, but after the training ended she was very excited to be back and the trainer took his time teaching me what she's been taught. Although she did regress in her potty training since she's been back, her behavior is astronomically better. My kids are not scared of her biting them anymore and she's not constantly whining like she was. At 16 weeks, she's staying in place until released and walking nicely on a leash now. She was wonderful with our golden doodle puppy and since returning from board and train, Rosie has been calm , great at listening, and no longer nips at all hanging fabric (dresses included)! I cannot get through a walk with Samson (my Newfoundland/German Shepard mix - aka: My Little Pony) without someone commenting on his size or what breed he is. I decided it was time to write a review after we were stopped yesterday and complemented us on how far he has come and how good he is doing! The person who stopped us had seen me working with him back in February shortly after I got him and prior to his 4 weeks of "Doggy Boot Camp" with Spencer at Prestige K9. He belonged to my niece and her family; but became too much to handle and costly after needing emergency surgery to retrieve a toy he had ingested. He was a jumper, tackler from behind, puller on the lead, nipper/biter and all around horrible; but oh, so cute (he still is). It took me over 2 weeks of working with him in the back yard, before we could even venture out on a walk. Spencer worked with him in March, and on the return day, when Spencer was working with me on the commands and how to use the Dogtra - Samson did everything he could to revert back to his old ways. He continued to test me for another month; but passed his one month follow-up after Spencer had me make a couple of minor adjustments on my commands. Samson is great to walk now, loves to hike, hangs out on his bed in "place" for hours at a time, is great at "down/stays" and is just an amazingly good boy. And he is calm with my niece's boys too! Samson is the seventh dog that I have had and the first to have gone through such an intensive training. I sent my 6mo Doberman here for training. Best Investment Ever. From beginning to end the staff were excellent communicators and just a pleasure to do business with. And Chelsea if you see this you are amazing! Unfortunately my pup is just a little bit accident prone and hurt her paw while attending. But this was handled beautifully. Not only did they check in with me first and ask how I wanted the situation should be dealt with, But they offered me a couple extra days to make up for what she missed while recovering. When she returned home I was nervous at first. But after a day or two and several sessions of practice she integrated back into our household without issue. I most definitely do NOT Recommend this business! My trainer covered beginning skills which my dog already knew. She wanted me to use her words, so I did. I bought the almost $500.00 worth of training supplies she required, even though I had all the supplies, just not the brand she required. I wanted help with my dog jumping and his excitement meeting people or dogs. She didn't address or begin working on this until the 3rd week. I called the office, spoke with Chelsea and asked her NOT to talk to Mari yet, then she called Mari right away. Then I get this email: "After careful review and consideration we have chosen to not continue doing private lessons with you as we don't feel that we are the best fit. Since you have only used some of your lessons we will be sending a refund check as that is the right thing to do. We appreciate your understanding in this matter and wish you and your pup the best of luck." Don't bother calling this company for training, there is better and more cost effective out there. I most definitely do NOT Recommend this business. I don't appreciate the immature response to my asking questions about the training I had paid for. I really enjoyed the training, however, the trainer we worked with would regularly reschedule and often not return calls or text. Hopefully they follow through with people in the future and don't leave their clients in the lurch waiting. Bottom line - Their communication stinks. Make sure you get them to follow through or they will blow you off with no explanation. Update: Lowering to two stars for Chelsea trying to misrepresent the issue. We didn't find out the trainer was pregnant until my wife asked her, which was two weeks before she left. Yes, she did a good job hiding it by wearing baggy clothes. When we asked her when she would be returning she said two weeks after giving birth. That seemed a bit ambitious to us, but we said okay and we would see her when she got back and to keep us updated (my wife has her phone number so they were communicating) so we could make plans if something came up. That was back in mid March. She gave birth around the end of March, my wife heard from her in a text around the middle of April and said congrats. Two weeks later, around the end of April, my wife texted her again and asked if she could recommend a class or trainer while she was out since she didn't tell us when she was coming back. She never responded and this is what happened now because of poor communication. To be clear, we were going back to Prestige K-9 because we had a 8 month relationship already ($200 a week x 8 months = $6400 minus a number of trainings because of reschedules/misses and we'll say close to $5400), and when we first spoke with the office they told us they had someone other than our old trainer who was available. Then somehow out of nowhere, our old trainer was available and did we want to use them again. This was the final straw given how many other reschedules and no return messages we had experienced before this. I truly wish the best for our old trainer. It's not easy to have a kid and be a working mom, however, that doesn't excuse not getting back to people or letting them know you are going to leave more then two weeks before you do. To add to this we were going for our dogs CGC (btw the company doesn't have anyone that can supply this) and had told our trainer months before that was the goal. He will get it. We had a rescue who had severe crate anxiety and would tear up everything including eating his way out of a crate. We were told that the training would be in home for 3 1/2 weeks. They then told us after 1 week of having the dog that we would be required to purchase an additional 2 weeks of training that we had to pay for then and there or they would send him back to us and say we can't help you. We asked to wait and see how the next week goes before agreeing to another 2 weeks. Upon our comment they said we are returning him as we are "questioning your commitment to the dog". Due to the fact that we had NO WAY of handling him at his current state we reluctantly agreed and paid another almost $2000. They brought him back to us 5 weeks later and within 1 day he was acting the exact same as before they trained him. I would find ANYWHERE else to train your dog. Our trainor was Adalee in south carolina. The dog was unfortunately not able to be kept by us and we had to get ACC involved. When we let the Trainor know we received NO communication or response after we paid total of $6,000 for them to give us the same dog back. Was disappointed to realize upon their return home that this training is 100% negative reinforcement based. When I dared question the use of a prong collar on my 4 lb chihuahua, my trainer became hostile and confrontational. She offered me a partial refund of $1K, and after two months of following up, it became clear that there was never any intention of giving me a refund. I tried reaching out to the contact I spoke to initially, and it was clear that she wanted nothing to do with me after my initial payment cleared. We loved Prestige K9 and especially our trainer Jordynn! And so did our dog Smooch! First, let me mention that of the 5 dog training services I reached out to Prestige was the only company that didn't just send me their Venmo details expecting a payment without first talking to someone at the company. Thank you for this! After checking out their Facebook page and reading all the great reviews we decided to give Prestige a try. I set up a phone consultation with their admin Chelsea who was very friendly and answered all of my questions. We talked about our 6-month-old dog Smooch and what we wanted to get out of training. We signed up for the 3-week camp. After you send a deposit, you schedule a day for the trainer to pick up your dog. Upon arriving, our trainer Jordynn asked us about Smooch and things we wanted to work on. She was very nice and clearly knew her stuff. She talked about the commands she would work on with smooch and the tools she would use and also what to expect when he comes home. It was really hard to go without our boy Smooch for three weeks but Jordynn was so nice and was willing to send us photos and videos of Smooch working on his new skills. The day Smooch returned, we spent 2 hours with Jordynn going over the new commands and how to use the new tools. She walked us through everything from how to use the e-collar correctly, walking with Smooch in the heel position, the 'place' command, and a 'down' and stay command OFF LEASH with distractions at a nearby park. Most importantly Jordynn explained how to continue the training to reinforce all the hard work she and Smooch put in. We work with Smooch every day, a little bit in the house and out on walks and at the park. Our walks are so much easier. Smooch wasn't a puller but he wanted to smell and eat everything on the walk which made walks VERY slow. Not any more. Smooch walks in the heel position, sits at doorways, crosswalks or anywhere we ask him to sit. Keeping him engaged with us on walks is key! We like to go on a lot of hikes and to the beach where we want to be able to let Smooch off-leash. We haven't perfected the off-leash heeling but the foundation is there and Smooch is making huge improvements every day. It's really hard with all the distractions! BUT his off-leash recall is very very good! We recently went on vacation to San Diego where there is a MASSIVE dog beach. Very fun! Smooch came every time we called him. Even amongst distractions galore. We even practiced down-stay! He would greet other dogs but if we called him back he came. This is very important especially at dog parks. We are still using treats or some of his kibble as a reward for listening but it works. He's only 6-months! We will continue to perfect the recall but I can't express how happy this made us and much more enjoyable off-leash adventures are now that Smooch is able to stay engaged with us even off-leash. Lastly, one of our hopes was to be able to take Smooch with us to outdoor dining and have him relax next to us without being anxious and wanting to smell and greet every person or dog that walks by. We have put that to the test and he is doing so well! Overall, Smooch is WAY more engaged with us and listens to commands and also he's just more relaxed and less anxious about the world. I can't express how happy we are that we found Prestige K9. Its made such an impact in our day-to-day lives with Smooch. Dog training is a bit pricey and I know it's scary to trust a stranger to take your dog but I would recommend them to all of my friends that are looking for dog training. Where do I start? Our bully is our child so back and forth for a month wondering if we could really let him go with a stranger for 3 WEEKS was a hard decision. You always hear all the horror stories and you always have them in the back of your mind. Well can i say I am beyond happy that we found kim at prestige k9 in WA. She was amazing with our boujee boy. We feed our boy raw and I thought for sure that would be a issue and she had no issue feeding him his normal food which made me so happy. He went for behavior modification, it came to a point that we were out of options and didn't know what to do. I know they say don't expect all the bad to be gone when they come home but to us it felt like most was gone he was so good at listening to his demands I was shocked. A high anxiety dog of ours learned to relax and that it was ok to place and be bored. She sent me updated videos and photos DAILY which helped me know he was doing awesome, checked his weight while he was there, it was just overall the best experience. I made the mistake of buying a large-breed puppy, and not training him well. Fast forward two years later, I had a 150 lb handful, and no where to turn. Prestige was recommended to me by another trainer, and having nothing to lose, I scheduled an appointment. Our initial consultation with Spencer was great, with no pressure. Upon seeing the size of my dog, he did recommend a camp versus just group classes, but he was by no means insistent on this. I signed up for the five week, and have not regretted it. My big boy actually listens, and I'm not afraid to take him for a walk. My dog is a true pleasure to be around. I also like that they tailor the training to the dog. Obviously a 9 week old puppy will be trained way differently than an adult snarky mastiff. If you're having issues with your dog, sooner is better than later. read more

I was very hopeful in the beginning and was left with a tail-less dog and no change in the aggression issues, and out $3,600. I took my dog, Bruce, to them for some overprotective dog and people aggression issues, which Marissa and Spencer both said could be fixed with no problem. We signed Bruce up for the in-board training that was $3,600 for a month of training. This was a lot of money for us to spend. We figured it would be worth the money if we didn't have to keep trying to train him ourselves with not much success, and it would solve his issues. After we got Bruce back from the in-board training we were excited to see what the results were. Unfortunately, Bruce came home and wasn't able to do any of the commands they had taught him off the bat and was having to be shocked to obey. We then took Bruce for a walk and there was absolutely NO change in Bruce's aggression which shocked my wife and me. Additionally, Bruce came back a little beat up, super thin and with an open abrasion on his tail which was due to the kennel he was kept in while in their care. Bruce developed an infection from the wound after trying to care for it through several vet visits Bruce, ultimately had to get his tail amputated. Spencer did pay for the vet bill which was the right thing to do, but we still had behavior issues that hadn't changed. Spencer and Marissa had both come out to work with Bruce to see if they could fix the issues we were seeing. Bruce did better (still not great) on walks with them, however, he was not good for my wife and me, which did us no good. Spencer suggested that we needed a more powerful shock collar and that they would set up a training session with one of their other trainers to walk Bruce through our neighborhood to fix the problem. Spencer stated that we were the problem and that we just needed to train Bruce better. Which is funny, because I thought that is why I paid him (a dog trainer) $3600 to train my dog. I guess I paid him that money so he could tell me I needed to train my dog? In the end, Spencer didn't solve the problem and left us with the same problems we started with minus my dog's tail and $3600. Spencer is great! The initial consultation with my white shepherd was very informational without any pressure for commitment. He really worked and dedicated the time and effort my dog needed. After doing the 3 week training program, our dog is totally different. No more running away, pulling on the leash, biting, or jumping. We now walk without a leash and she is attached to my hip. I continuously get complements on her performance. In my opinion, the follow up assessments are really where Spencer shines as a trainer. The personal relationship he has with my dog is amazing, even after months have gone by. Reassessments and follow up training sessions are recommended if needed and I haven't been charged a dime. Our 2 year old English Pointer Flynn was pretty much out of control! Impossible to walk because he pulled so hard and went absolutely crazy every time we came across a rabbit or bird, as pointers do! We never allowed him off leash, knowing he would vanish as soon as he came across a bird. He was jumping on everything and destroying the house. We had a 2 week vacation planned and would have to board him so decided to send him to Prestige to see if they could help. I was amazed when they delivered him home!!!! He is perfectly behaved and best of all we've been enjoying taking him on walks off leash. A simple sit command and he'll stay while distractions go on all around him until he's told "free". They have been to the house twice to check on his progress and train us on new commands. We know he was treated well because he's always excited to see Lizzy and the team on these trips. We call Spencer "the dog whisperer." We have a female Newfoundland. She started out a cute fluffy puppy and quickly became a puppy that ruled our house. We went from loving her to kind of dreading her. We were desperate to gain some control in our home and had tried other trainers and group sessions. Nothing was really sticking with our pup. At about 5 months we were at the end of our rope. We found Prestige K9 online, explained our situation to Spencer, and dropped her off for a 3 week "part 1." We were ecstatic with just the time away from her, and truthfully weren't very hopeful she'd come back that different just because she was such a bear. But we were completely shocked! Our puppy came back a total delight! It was night and day, seriously. We were all of a sudden able to walk her, get her to sit, she wasn't nipping my youngest anymore, we could put her in "place" so we could have a peaceful family dinner again...it was incredible!!! And the strangest thing was our puppy was still there, she was herself, but she had manners suddenly. We were so pleased we scheduled "part 2" with Spencer a few months later to teach her off leash and she came back from that session even better! My children are now excited to play with our 100 lb plus puppy (she's 9 months currently) and my husband has discovered a fondness for her too. Spencer will always be my go-to for ANY dog training needs in the future and I will tell my friends this is the only trainer to use. He's incredibly compassionate towards all of the dogs on his property, he's extremely accommodating, he's very educated and informative about dogs and their training/upkeep, he's extremely versatile in what he can teach a dog, and he provides easy boarding for dogs that have been trained by him. Our Newfie has boarded several times and she is always excited to play in his dog's paradise.
