One of my favorite places I am very comfortable leaving my dog for a few days when I'm gone. Great staff and management and my dog feels super happy over there. Thank you everyone.

It was so worse when we picked him up from Arcade Creek Kennels. Sorry buddy.

I don't know why I left a four star review. I guess it was in good faith that they would pay our vet bill, they offered, but we never followed through with it, and it cost us double to have our dog go through this. Luckily he's had no serious side effects. After talking with my partner, we've agreed that we will never use this kennel again. As per my original review, please know that this is potentially something that can happen to your fur baby too.

I have taken my fur baby to this kennel 2 times and my dog seems to like it ..?? I am very pleased with the staff and my dog comes home well adjusted, but sometimes hoarse probably from all the barking .... the poor staff their ears must be bleeding....from my dog yelling because I didn't take him on vacation with me. Everyone that works there is very caring and loving to the dogs. My dog does get some diarrhea when I leave, but they clean him and love him and take good care of him and I couldn't be more happier. They are great on making sure all animals shots are up so no worries of your dog coming home sick.

My husband and I moved to Citrus Heights this year and we were looking for a new place to board our pup. On my first visit, I was given a great tour and the staff took time to answer my questions. I filled out his paperwork and then made a reservation for a trial boarding day with them for the following month. Ryker wears a GPS collar (Fi) and I could tell that he got a lot of steps in while he stayed with them during his daytime trial. He did great (which was a relief because he can sometimes be nippy in new groups but I was told they would separate him and take him out by himself if he does not want to be with a particular group). Ryker stayed here for a week last month--again, he did great! And you can tell he enjoyed himself as he was exhausted when we got home (see photo). Thank you Arcade Creek Kennel for helping answer our questions (giving us peace on our trip) and taking great care of our picky-eater, special-at-times little guy!!!

Loving my home away from home visits at Doggie Daycare. The staff are so good to me and I love them. I always know my mommy will come back for me so I have no worries and I get food here. I also have lots of friends to play with my size. Signed with appreciation and love, snow cloud buttons

Jubilee excited to go to Arcade Creek Kennel that first morning.

Our Pomsky Jubilee spent 18 days here and they were awesome. From our visit and tour a month earlier to the free doggie day care afternoon. All to help Jubilee (her Momsky & Popsky really) get used to the idea of being here for the 2+ weeks. The videos on Instagram showed us how all the fun she had during "summer sleep away camp". The staff kept her feeding schedule and provided clean facilities and cared for her total well-being. And they answered questions or provided updates during phone call check-ins. They truly love dogs and treated Jubilee like one of their own. Although we're in Elk Grove, using Arcade Creek Kennels was the best choice and well worth the drive. A special thank you shout-out to Danielle and Sherry!

My baby boy loves it here! The staff are great, they are priced very fairly and I'm a totally helicopter dog mom and they cater to that. I'm so happy we found this great Kennel. I feel so much better knowing my puppy is having a great time a few days a week.

I can't say enough about this establishment and the care for their animal guests!! I have a very anxious dog who has horrible issues with certain sounds and separation anxiety. When I first talked to Danielle she was so friendly and accommodating to all my questions and reassured me that my dog would be fine! We try to take him with us when we can, but when we can't we've left him here on 4 different occasions and he has done awesome. I love that they post playtime on their IG account. I just wish they did it everyday!! It really made me happy to see him running around free and with the other dogs. I drive all the way from Elk Grove because I know he is cared for here and I'm so happy I found this kennel. And just in case you're hesitant to put your dog in open play (which I was) you have the choice to have alone play time.

They are exhausted from play time at ACK! :)

I toured this kennel and found it to be too crowded for my liking. I just wouldn't feel comfortable boarding my dogs there.

Ask the Community - Arcade Creek Kennels

Does my dog have to be neutered?

I don't believe so... call Danielle @ Arcade Creek

Do they have individual play for dogs who do not like other dogs?

I believe they do. I've seen where there has been only one dog outside while the others are indoors, in their own kennels. But, it's best to call them. You may need to leave a message because they are very busy. My fur kids love it there.

Alex took her time and remained totally calm as my dog thrashed around, screamed like she was being killed and attempted to eat and claw my face off. When my dog sprayed her anal glands then pooped on the table, she didn't bat an eye. Eventually, we got my pup into a little tiny muzzle and finished up her front paws. I'm so grateful for this place and the fact that they did not once make me feel like a bad pet owner because her nails had gotten so long waiting on a vet appointment. They also didn't charge extra for all of the commotion and anxiety my pup brought along for the visit. This is my new go-to spot for all things grooming!!

I checked the website and even called ahead, and nowhere did I see anything saying they would be closed. Unfortunately, when we got there, there was a tiny sign on the door letting everyone know they were closed for the week for training. We definitely weren't the only ones who missed the memo either. While we were there, other people were pulling up looking for their services as well. I completely understand closing for training. That makes total sense, and honestly, I appreciate a business taking the time to make sure their employees are properly trained. I just wish there had been some kind of notice on the website or the voicemail before making the trip over. A quick heads-up would have saved us, and apparently quite a few other people, from making the drive for nothing. Just something to keep in mind if you're planning a trip over.

I normally don't write reviews, but after seeing what happened with our dog, I feel like I have to…read moresay something. My wife brought our extremely small toy poodle here after we recently moved to the area. We were hoping to find a groomer closer to home, and everything seemed fine when she dropped her off. We specifically asked for a teddy bear style cut, with her body left long and fluffy. We also explained that there were a few areas where she may have been matted and made it clear that we wanted to be informed if that was going to affect the haircut. What happened afterward is honestly unbelievable. When we picked her up, she had been shaved down almost completely. This wasn't a slight variation from what we requested. She looked completely different from what we specifically asked for. And here's what really bothers me. WE WERE NEVER CALLED!!! If she was too matted to safely leave her hair long, or if she was difficult to groom, then CALL US. Give us the opportunity to make that decision. Instead, someone at the shop apparently decided to completely change the service without our knowledge or approval. I was also told that our dog was "fighting" the groomer while being brushed. She's an XS toy poodle, so if there was genuinely a problem handling her, that should have been communicated to us immediately. You don't wait until the dog is finished, shave her down, and then casually explain afterward why you did something completely different. She was there for around three and a half hours, and for that amount of time and money, I expected an actual grooming service not for someone to essentially shave her down and send her home. To make matters even more frustrating, she didn't even smell particularly clean afterward. She still smelled like the bath my wife had already given her at home. So at that point we're left wondering what exactly we paid for. I'm not upset because the haircut wasn't "perfect." I'm upset because we weren't listened to and we weren't given a choice. If the requested haircut wasn't possible, we should have been told BEFORE they proceeded. That's basic customer service. My wife was devastated when she saw her. I was angry because our dog was left looking nothing like what we had discussed, and the entire situation could have been avoided with one simple phone call. This was a complete failure in communication and professionalism. We trusted this business with our dog and expected them to communicate with us if there was a problem. Instead, they made the decision themselves and left us to deal with the result. We're currently waiting to hear from the owners because I genuinely want to see how they're going to address this. At this point, I would not recommend this groomer to anyone who actually cares about getting the haircut they specifically requested for their dog. Very disappointing experience, very poor communication, and absolutely not worth what we paid.

I had a very disappointing experience with Waggers. When I first called to make my appointment, I…read morespecifically explained that I have a 3-month-old puppy who has not yet received his rabies vaccine. I was told that this would not be a problem because they do not require puppies to have a rabies shot for grooming. When someone called later to confirm my appointment, I asked again to make sure. I clearly stated that this was my puppy's first grooming appointment and that he still had not received his rabies vaccine. Once again, I was assured that it was not an issue. However, when I arrived for the appointment, I was turned away because my puppy didn't have a rabies vaccination. This was incredibly frustrating because I had already made special arrangements at work, took my lunch break later than usual, and coordinated with my daughter to pick up the puppy after his appointment. If this is your policy, that's completely understandable--but I should have been told that from the beginning, especially after asking twice. Instead, I wasted my time, rearranged my day, and left feeling very disappointed. Better communication and consistency with customers would have prevented this entire situation.
