I've been coming here for years, it's the only place and people I leave my dog Bentley with. He boards with his food, treats and medications and comes home calm and happy every time. Danielle, Shirley and the rest of staff are an amazing and hard working crew. There's been times during my trip when I had to extend Bentley Boarding or my reservation dates gets changed around and they are prompt to respond in emails whenever I have any inquiries. This is also the only place that grooms Bentley without problems since he gets anxious and snappy. I am so blessed to have found Arcade Creek Kennels! The staff was so kind, and the owner Danielle was incredibly sweet! When I brought my dogs in, the lady working there was so kind with my pups. She herself owned over 10 rescues! That really warmed my heart. I had wet food and dry food and they very neatly labeled all my containers. I could tell they took great pride in their work. The facility was also very clean, and I loved how I could take a peek out into the yard. The dogs looked like they were having so much fun! Called several times. No one ever answers the phone. The message says to leave a message and they will call you back. Left a message twice. Never got a call back. Terrible customer service. Will you trust leaving your dog with folks who don't even care about calling back customers who leave a message? If you call and no one answers (which will always happen), just move on. read more

Oh my goodness! I am SO thankful I found Arcade Creek Kennels...and my Harry is probably even MORE thankful! I haven't been out of town in over a year because I wouldn't put anyone I know through dealing with my sweet little destructive Harry, but it was very important for me to head down south for one last visit to see a family member who's in bad shape, and saw all the good reviews (not to mention the perk of being the most affordable!) , so I figured I'd give them a shot, and Harry has never been around other dogs since I'm not a fan of dog parks since my last dog was attacked and none of my friends have dogs he can socialize with, so this would also be the perfect environment, with good dogs and professionals who know how to introduce and read dogs' behavior...I picked him up this morning, after a five day stay, they said he did great with all the other dogs and I don't know what in the world happened, but he's a new dog! I have taken my fur baby to this kennel 2 times and my dog seems to like it ..?? I am very pleased with the staff and my dog comes home well adjusted, but sometimes hoarse probably from all the barking .... the poor staff their ears must be bleeding....from my dog yelling because I didn't take him on vacation with me. Everyone that works there is very caring and loving to the dogs. My dog does get some diarrhea when I leave, but they clean him and love him and take good care of him and I couldn't be more happier. They are great on making sure all animals shots are up so no worries of your dog coming home sick. read more

My husband and I moved to Citrus Heights this year and we were looking for a new place to board our pup. On my first visit, I was given a great tour and the staff took time to answer my questions. I filled out his paperwork and then made a reservation for a trial boarding day with them for the following month. Ryker wears a GPS collar (Fi) and I could tell that he got a lot of steps in while he stayed with them during his daytime trial. He did great (which was a relief because he can sometimes be nippy in new groups but I was told they would separate him and take him out by himself if he does not want to be with a particular group). Ryker stayed here for a week last month--again, he did great! And you can tell he enjoyed himself as he was exhausted when we got home (see photo). Our Pomsky Jubilee spent 18 days here and they were awesome. From our visit and tour a month earlier to the free doggie day care afternoon. All to help Jubilee (her Momsky & Popsky really) get used to the idea of being here for the 2+ weeks. The videos on Instagram showed us how all the fun she had during "summer sleep away camp". The staff kept her feeding schedule and provided clean facilities and cared for her total well-being. And they answered questions or provided updates during phone call check-ins. They truly love dogs and treated Jubilee like one of their own. Although we're in Elk Grove, using Arcade Creek Kennels was the best choice and well worth the drive. Only good things to say about their service and staff. Danielle, the owner, is wonderful. She actually lined up the adoption for my husky! We trust her and her staff with our pups. Should be noted I'm one of those people that only trusts his dog with a few special folk. Our dogs stay here while we are out of town. We usually have the two dogs share a space and it works great. We have left them for just a few nights to two weeks. Prior to having two pups, I left my husky at Arcade Creek Kennels for a month. Work had me in Alaska for that long. Too long away from my husky, but only possible because I knew he was in good hands. Their yard space in huge. Unmatched in Sacramento. It's like a private dog park. You're usually greeted by a smiling pup at the fence. They say not to talk to them though... but it's hard not to. My dogs are happy when we drop them off, and happy when we pick them up. I should have written this a long time ago. I don't need to board my dog often, but over the last 8 years this is where I've taken her when I do. I tried other places before, and this is where I've felt most comfortable. It's a great location, plenty of room for the dogs, great staff. They always give me feedback on how she did, and last time she seemed kind of irritated that I took her home! Follow their Instagram, you can see how much fun the dogs are having. I was taken back when I picked up my 3 dogs by the cost . I was told that after 3 days that my dogs ran out of their food and I ended being charged extra and I cannot for the life of me figure out how that happened. I had pre measured and labeled the food bags. I didn't get much of a break in cost of having all 3 in a kennel together. When I first made the reservation I was quoted something different ( I lost my notes on what the price was) and when I paid my bill it was $300 more than my prior kennel charged for the same amount of time. My bad that I didn't confirm the price when I dropped them off, because in my memory it was manageable , but the final cost was unreasonable. I will drive an hour to take my fur babies to my prior kennel for here on out. read more

I can't say enough about this establishment and the care for their animal guests!! I have a very anxious dog who has horrible issues with certain sounds and separation anxiety. When I first talked to Danielle she was so friendly and accommodating to all my questions and reassured me that my dog would be fine! We try to take him with us when we can, but when we can't we've left him here on 4 different occasions and he has done awesome. I love that they post playtime on their IG account. I just wish they did it everyday!! It really made me happy to see him running around free and with the other dogs. I drive all the way from Elk Grove because I know he is cared for here and I'm so happy I found this kennel. Yesterday was the first time we boarded our dogs and when we picked them up today, they were happy and exhausted which is a great thing! Don't let all of the 5 star reviews fool you. Like everything these days, things are more expensive but the price for our 2 dogs in one kennel was absurd. They were scheduled for 9 days. On the 8th day we get a call from the owner that our 6 month old puppy had had to have 7 baths because he pooped on himself all those times. She asked me if it was OK to give him baths and if we minded if they groomed him which would all be extra charges for. I am livid with her attitude and behavior and feel totally taken advantage of. Also when I brought my 2 dogs in I explained to her that my German Shephard had some issues with other dogs and didn't really take to strangers well either. I wanted to do like I've always done with her and introduce her to people first, then she's always fine. She insisted that I just bring her in the door on her leash and just hand her over which I did and she just took her directly to the kennel and put her in there without even as much as a "Hi Luna, how are you?" The one girl (Sherry) who works there was always very kind. This woman, I assume the owner was rude and contright every time we talked to her before bringing the dogs in. If I had known she was this rude and greedy (and expensive) I would have never taken my dogs to this kennel. They are very convenient and have a big place which I thought would be good for my dogs, but I would never recommend this kennel. read more

Lots of friends to play with or kept to themselves which ever you desire. My Border Collie, Buddy, was very well taken care of. The play area is large, and the kennels are too. One for each dog. My two GSDs have been here twice. Once for a short stay and the second time for about a week. They have come home happy and healthy after both visits. The staff is polite and the kennels are clean. The dogs also get schedule play times and medications If needed with no extra charge for both. It has been hard to find a reliable dog sitter in the past. This is our new go to place. We normally take our dog to pet smart for grooming but this place was half the price for the same services. We decided to give it a try. The first visit was okay, his trim was decent but nothing compared to the amazing job petsmart does and the nails were not trimmed well. There was still about a half inch of nail above the quick. In terms of tiny dogs like mine, a half inch is a lot. We decided to give them another shot and it cost us $1000 in vet bills. My dog needs regular anal gland expression for medical preventative reasons. He gets it done every 6 weeks with his groom. We picked bently up and noticed his haircut was horrible. They had cut the top half of his ear hair (he's a Maltese) all the way up to the top of his head and left about an inch, and the rest of his ear hair is about 9 inches. I don't understand who thought this was a good idea but it looks terrible. They did not ask me if this was okay and it will likely take over a year to grow back to it's original length. On top of that; his tear stains were not cleaned, his teeth were not brushed and his nails were not even touched. The biggest problem of all was that they did not perform anal gland expression (which I made sure was included in the price when I scheduled his first appointment.) I know this because 4 days after this grooming visit my dog had to go to emergency for an anal gland abscess and it ruptured while we were there. The abscessed gland had not been touched in at least a month (vets exact words) and the other gland was so full she said there was no way they could have expressed them anytime recently. We aren't even done with his vet appointments (still have the follow up) and we're already out $1000. If you want your pet to get the services you're paying for, do not go here. I don't understand how they have so many good reviews. This place is so untrustworthy and they do not complete the services advertised. My dog is in so much pain and is on antibiotics and pain pills for 7 days. I never want anyone's dog to go through this pain and have to sleep with the cone of shame. PLEASE do not take your pets here. read more

I spent the Christmas holiday in North Carolina, and desperately needed a safe reliable place to leave my best friend, Peanut! I visited Arcade before deciding to have him stay there. He is a rescue dog with some mental special needs, I think! He doesn't learn things very easily! But I was impressed with Danielle and the staff there, and felt comfortable immediately with how the facility is set up. They have several fenced yards to accommodate big dogs, small dogs, different temperaments, etc. The cost is reasonable, and no hidden extras! I won't hesitate to bring Peanut here again if the need arises! He is so much better behaved since he came home! I would love for Danielle to tell me how they transformed him so quickly into a well behaved dog! read more

Did a very poor job on whiteys hair, looked like a bad bowl cut, didn't clip all of his nails and left a clipper cut about an inch long on his testicles. This was the end of last summer so hopefully who ever did it has gotten a lot more direction and training. I took our schnauzer mix to Arcade early Feb. for a grooming. This dog is a rescue and was abused. We have owned him since March 2014 and he is still fearful. For years he was groomed at a Vets office under sedation. I decided it was time to try to get him groomed without sedation. Arcade Creek Grooming listened to my needs and concerns and Morgan (dog) had a wonderful experience and his grooming was perfect!!! I have been taking my Australian Cattle dog here for years now and they have always welcomed her when she came like happy to see a old friend and felt like I was taking one of their best friends away from their play time whenever we left. Don't normally do Yelp but I believe Arcade Creek Kennel deserves a big shout out. I have taken my Rottweiler there several times and she loved it. When I took her there she actually PULLED me into the lobby. Yesterday I got a call from them saying my dog wasn't feeling well and asked if they could take her to the Vet. I agreed and they drove her all the way to the emergency vet in folsom. Unfortunately my dog had a huge tumor and had to be put down. I am still grateful to them and escpeciialy Danielle for their exceptional personalized service. I highly recommend them. read more
