On event day, Chef Jamie and Chef Nathan showed up exactly on time and started getting to work. First, the table was set beautifully with linen napkins and personalized menus/place cards. As guests arrived, we were all treated with a specialty cocktail and delightful appetizers. And then dinner. Wow!! Maybe the best ribeye steak ever. Wonderfully seasoned and incredibly tender. The sides were all great but that steak - oh, my lord. Dessert was a matcha tiramisu and it was the perfect finish! Throughout the night, the service was so smooth and then, before we knew it, the kitchen was cleaner than when they arrived and they were off. And sometimes the staff don't have the best English. Usually this is something I do not care about at all, but sometimes there is a language barrier when you're trying to communicate what you want on your salad. - If you are renting this facility to give a training...BEWARE: you will be aggressively nickel-and-dimed if you require any additional help/supplies that are not explicitly in your contract! Examples include: Golf Cart Shuttle Service: Not provided at all on the day of the event. Barn Cocktail Hour Décor: Only three barrels were present with no décor, despite the agreed design. Firepit and Seating: Not set up or made available for use. Complimentary Champagne Toast: Not provided for the bridal party; instead, we received red wine well after arrival with no accompanying food. Bridal Gift Bags / Keepsakes: Only the groom's party received keepsakes. Starry Night Lighting: Absent entirely. Guests expressed safety concerns about the lack of lighting while walking in the dark. Ceremony Lighting and Décor: No lanterns at the ceremony entrance or chair rows; the ceremony tree lighting and décor were never completed despite assurances. Dessert Table: Our donut tower was missing, and the table lacked a tablecloth. Lawn Games: Giant Jenga, Connect Four, corn hole, and ring toss were not set up; this resulted in our guests leaving early due to the lack of activities. Additional notes: We were repeatedly told we had caused logistical issues - such as "messing up the table plan" - when the venue's own lack of follow-up (including missing meeting notes) caused the confusion. We were proactive and cooperative throughout the planning process, providing detailed music links, layouts, and confirmations. Despite that, we ended up managing aspects of the event ourselves, such as calling a table for dinner, opening dessert boxes, and notifying guests when dessert was available. We received consistent feedback from guests that the catering staff appeared irritated and dismissive when asked basic questions about food and service. This created discomfort among our family and friends, which is unacceptable for a paid, private event of this importance. Instead, we received an email detailing issues that we supposedly caused, no apology, and excuses for why our needs couldn't be met. Cocktail hour was a joke since there were 2 bartenders to handle 200+ guests. I never got a cocktail or cool beverage - NOTHING WAS ON ICE! Not even the champagne. This venue was obviously not meant for this number of people - there were 2 unisex bathrooms with a total of 4 stalls - always a line, the caterer (required to use by the venue) was horrendous with all the food cold, drinks not cold and not enough. I'm sure that the bride and groom never noticed a problem, but when you leave such an event you shouldn't be figuring out where you want to go to eat. MY RECOMMENDATION - do not use this venue for more than 20 people.

The reason this review earned three stars was because of venue management. An important aspect of North Hall is that they will not let you do any setup prior to the event unless you pay per hour. As an example: our event started at 5pm and we had to pay 500$ more to start setup at 3pm. The real issue arose when we were informed that we could not leave anything in a closet or kitchen in order to make the "day-of" prep easier. Management allowed absolutely nothing from entering or remaining in the space despite there being no event prior to our reception. On a positive note, the two hour setup window provided a testament to how amazing our vendors were; they created a beautiful space with no help from North Hall. The management induced plenty of undue stress by being unclear of what permits were needed for the event. They went on to remind us with little time to prepare. This issue manifested itself one week prior to our wedding day, where our wedding coordinator, my wife, and myself scrambled to get permits for food, alcohol, etc. Overall, North Hall is truly lovely, but future customers should be aware that this venue is fortified by the bureaucracy of Washington D.C. Much like your local trip to the DMV, illogical policies and the lack of regard for the individual reign supreme. Weddings are stressful and emotional, no one should have to deal with the inefficiencies of government and the shortcomings of bureaucrats on their special day.
