I defy you to find such a good deal! I plumped for just a jacket potato with cheese and salad which was only £2.90, and tasted oven-baked. I've heard the fish and chips here are pretty good too, at just £3.75. The staff in here are very friendly and the decor itself feels very cosy - a great place to sit and people watch.

I'd been eating a lot of unhealthy foods so it was really nice to get a smoothie and a vegetarian full English (but I did get the black pudding on the side). Ironically the coffee machine was broken but my spirit wasn't! Plus I don't really like coffee anyway so it didn't matter. I got the taco truck fries which while very spicy & garlicky were amazing. I also got the Eggs in Purgatory whoch were out of this world amazing. The hot honey toast was a perfect vehicle for mopping up the sauce. Hoping I get to come back again!!

I go to this cafe for lunch for its delicious mouthwatering Italian Chicken and Chargrilled Vegetables paninis. You are guaranteed they used the freshest ingredients because the green grocer is just 8 feet away. I also recommend you try the Chicken tikka, spring onion & mozzarella cheese panini, utterly heaven. They also have vegetarian panini's and baguettes like Falafel (falafil) , Humous & cheese. And North Star really lives up to its name by being a great spot not only to mooch around the shelves but to have a hunk of cake, a great cup of coffee and hone in on some of the most reliable wifi I've had the joy of experiencing. I popped in here with my mum before a quick trip to Khawaja Brothers and Morrison's, and boy were we glad we did. Slabs of amazing homemade cake, incredible salads of puy lentils, Mediterranean veg, sundried tomatoes, big wedges of vegetarian lasagne, giant salmon fishcakes... the choices here are endless. And all served with a warm smile and with the option of kick-ass coffee and Teapigs tea. Yes, they had me at Teapigs tea. And amazing greetings cards, randomly. The decor is really relaxing, the outside space plentiful, and despite being on one of the busies roads in South Manchester and near a petrol station it manages to maintain an ambience of calm. We indulged in the banana and coconut cake and Victoria sponge, and both were mindblowing. The coconut icing on the banana cake should be sold by the spoonful and the Victoria sandwich had fresh strawberries in the buttercream topping and utterly delicious jam in the middle. Oh and the cake dough didn't even harbour a hint of dryness. The prices are reasonable too, and that wifi I mentioned didn't falter once - even while I was outside on the patio. A Frikadelle is a meatball patty The specialty is it is made with egg and onions. Let me tell you it is nothing about this sandwich being German. lol. It's Just a regular meat patty. In general, that is fine, but why would you mark it as a German Frikadelle. so please don't get food. This is not original. It is still a tasty sandwich though. The chicken sandwich has a delicious tzatziki coming with it which is Jo sauce with garlic and dill sometimes onions which in this case has not. Did chicken meat stove was tasty but a little bit on the dry side which is surprising for a deli that is as busy as this one. Overall, both sandwiches were very dry they were missing a sauce taste Wise both of them have been good I ordered Health sent juice so that I can try both but what came was a real sandwich so I got two full sandwiches. Please be aware if you are just a little bit hungry don't order more than one sandwich. They are very generous. The fries have been VERY crispy. I like mine well done but that was even a bit hard for me. They have a very tasty seasoning (like a good crisp/chip with paprika) and I ordered the regular-sized portion I am so happy I did cause I would have not been able to eat it all (even when they would have been perfectly cooked). At 11 am on a Saturday, they weren't too packed and even if they were this place is huge so there is plenty of room to sit down and enjoy! What I ordered: I got a cappuccino and a falafel salad. The cappuccino was huge! The salad was filling and came w hummus, guacamole, and a veggie mix! I loved it! Prices were reasonable for what you get! Another bonus- there were outlets next to all of the booths! Nice. I would highly recommend this place!

I decided to try this one because why not ... it is quicker for me to get to when I visit on the train as its just outside Piccadilly station so thought why not. Its a 2 floor restaurant with seating both upstairs and down, huge glass store front so you can sit inside and watch the people going to and from the station and just relax. I got there just after 8am and there wasn't as many people in as there would have been for the original store in the centre of the city, which is good because it meant I could easily get a seat and served. The decor was awesome and some of my pictures show it, however I didn't go upstairs and always feel dodgy when taking pictures of the arrangement as I was across from the serving area. It looked nice done up all festive too and we quickly got seen to. Luckily it has the same menu as the other establishments and the lovely server told us that everything was available which is awesome. Being a creature of habit, I went for my old faithful, the grande bouche which is the brioche french toast with bacon, and a vanilla latte. I figured, in order to review them both, I need to try the same dish and see which one I preferred. Unfortunately I could differentiate my favourite as they are both EPIC. However, I do believe I got more bacon at the piccadilly one so YAY for more bacon. I only have 2 niggles at this store, however, one was partly my fault, and so was the other thinking about it. They were, the food didn't stay hot enough (however I was dawdling in eating it) ... and the other is that, with people coming in and out constantly, there was a draft (but we did sit near the door). All in all it was an excellent trip and I cant wait to go there again. As well as the grande bouche and vanilla latte, I got a stack of 3 blueberry pancakes to share with my brother. We have had the pancakes before and due to the size, they got a little dry ... however the addition of blueberries moistened it up as they were VERY juicy and delicious blueberries (deffo want more blueberries next time). Moose Coffee was founded in 2006. The concept grew from a love for the great American breakfast…read moreculture and nowhere does it better than the diners & delis of New York City. This is their latest branch and second in Manchester city centre, on Piccadilly Approach - it is a fairly small store but serves a convenient location if one is getting a train from Piccadilly Station. If you've ordered with Moose in Manchester on Deliveroo - chances are the order has come from this branch. The store inside is pretty small compared to their other branch but it still does have some nice comfortable seating and tables (there were children standing on the cushioned seats which goes down the store however which I didn't like - but the staff can't control customers children!) When I entered, I waited to be sat down and was served by a man - he seemed to struggle understanding English and even admitted that - I asked him for an allergen guide (it says on the menu you can request one and they do have it online too but I wanted to get one in-store to test the staff knowledge to see if I actually felt confident eating here), however, he looked at me puzzled and originally thought I was unable to read the menu - so despite asking to sit down twice and asking him questions, he appeared to block me from sitting down. I eventually had to ask another member of staff who seemed a lot more confident than the other staff member here - who seemed confused that gluten-free options weren't labelled on the menu when vegan was. This was a slow and frustrating process. I ended up going for the Mighty Moose after finding out it could be made with gluten-free bread, the lady server also offered to make me an iced tea but she did say she wasn't aware of how it would turn out as it is basically making a hot tea over ice and they don't normally do it. I decided to go for an Iced Earl Grey with Vanilla syrup, this was quite reasonably priced at £2 with an extra £0.30 for syrup, however, the drink was just drinkable and it really was tea over ice - the drink didn't even taste of vanilla, it was just bitter water if anything. My food quality overall was okay but I did seem to have a problem with every aspect of my dish - considering it was with a potato hash, I expected the bacon to be those nice, thin crispy rashers of bacon however the bacon wasn't like that - it had no crispiness to it, it seemed slightly undercooked and was rather chewy. My fried eggs did look the part but I found them to be slightly too runny for my liking. The potato hash in most cases did taste quite good with nice potatoes however a good part of it was overseasoned and far too peppery - meaning I had to leave part of it which was a shame. I was quite surprised however with the gluten-free toast as it was basically on the brink of being burnt - considering how hard it is to toast gluten-free bread as it tastes longer I was shocked how they got it like this (it also is a shame they don't have gluten free bread clearly listed on the menu so customers can be easily aware of it) - the bread, however, was cold, it felt like they'd invented a zapper which toasts bread rather than getting it hot. The overall feel of the place wasn't great - and I certainly would want to avoid the outdoor seating area, with it being on such a busy street leading up to the station you have loads of people running past with cigarettes, suitcases and the Free Bus parking just outside - meaning if you want a more typical American diner experience you might be best heading to their other branch in the city on York Street. Everything came to £10.10 which for a city centre location and fresh food - wasn't too bad. Would I come here again? Probably not - only as a last resort is getting a train, facing issues from minor to much bigger on my food and the male server seeming inexperienced and untrained (he did seem friendly however he just really struggled). 2* for this being one of the better places to get food before heading on a train from Piccadilly station, especially considering terrible experiences at Carluccio's inside the station and Bella Itallia, a five minute or so walk away in Piccadilly Gardens in the past.
