I drove my car one cloudy morning to the store and when I walked in I must have fallen into a deep romantic Minstrel sleep. I bought dried flowers and glass art and candles. The items I paid for that caught my eye were decorative. When I left it was raining lightly and I was pleased that I found a nice play to shop. The store has a different choice and theme that revolves sort of every so often with new merchandise and ideas. Kind of like an exhibit at a museum. I visit the area for dining and shopping and entertainment occasionally. The luxury hotels are perfect and ocean side. The movie theaters are entirely unexpected. There were 2 female workers near the cash register and they stopped talking and looked in my direction then resumed talking to each other. I even bought something. I stood at the register for a while before one of the two workers came over though they were only a few feet away. All she said for the entire transaction was the amount of my total then the amount of my change. She asked if I wanted a bag and I said no. That's it. As I left two people came in and I saw the male worker greet them and ask them if they need help. The store itself is inviting and well laid out. I recognize the usage of AI as a practical tool but certainly not as a creative medium--especially when vendors charge $30 and above for "artwork" that a human didn't even create. I feel that selling AI-generated pieces is not only deceptive but a poor reflection on any business given how environmentally damaging it is plus the fact that AI continuously steals content from hard-working human artists. I love Homespun and will continue to recommend them on account of my positive experiences as a shopper, but I feel that they and other businesses can do better when it comes to recognizing the harm AI causes.
