I like Party City because I can usually find what I need, and more, to make special events happen…read more This week I needed green tables coverings and, sure enough, they had them. In fact, they had every color under the rainbow with matching supplies. Prices were great so I bought four. Unfortunately, the table clothes had some flaws (tears) and were pretty low quality, but I was able to make them work. The staff was friendly and helpful. When I asked where the table coverings were, the clerk took me back and showed me options. They had some incredible graduation party supplies with all the different school colors. Their parking lot is a bit of a mess but there is plenty of parking.

I waited in line and asked about filling my own balloons, and the staff kept reminding me that there was a fee for helium--something I was already aware of and had no issue paying. I clarified this multiple times, but it still felt tense and uncomfortable. At one point, I looked for a different balloon number, but they didn't have it, so I stuck with what I had. In the end, I paid $40 to fill six balloons. To avoid more hassle, I ended up blowing up the rest of my balloons at home and used double-sided tape to get the look I wanted. Overall, I won't be coming back here. I stayed polite and composed, but I wanted to share this experience for others considering a visit.

I have been in the warehouse where the equipment is stored. It has rats, mice, and no running war, with the toilet overflowing with feces. I have a friend that also only worked one week, and Jeff, the owner is now holding his tools hostage. During my time I witnessed Jeff, the owner sell drugs, and give drugs to people. He also put my friend out because he had medical appointments, and Jeff told him work or be displaced. My friend, having had cancer, chose displacement, as the appointments are crucial to his health. Jeff is often so high on pills that he cannot function. By this I mean he cannot speak clearly or even walk. Take the advice of someone who has seen firsthand. Go with another company. You might pay more, but you will not get ripped off.

That zero-refund policy is pretty convenient. I ordered a DJ equipment rental for our wedding reception. Submitted all the necessary paperwork, emailed back and forth a bit, and the contact was slightly rude, but nothing crazy. I've lived out of state for a few years, so I asked what to do about the fact I don't have an Indiana driver's license. At that time, they took a copy of our contract with the venue, and that seemed like it was enough. Well, apparently they've now "updated their systems" so that if you have an order for a date after August 27, you have to enter everything again. No warning, wedding is this coming Saturday, no help, just an extremely buggy automated system that wouldn't take my license from the state right next door. Everything I was told 2 months ago is out the window. No promise that the delivery will even show up on time for the event. I've found an alternate vendor that gave an excellent impression, will have the equipment there well in advance and work with our vendor, happily answered all of my questions, and the whole process was handled within 30 minutes. Rent-a-Bit treats people as they should be treated. Seeing this high an amount of similar reviews and also no-shows, unusably damaged equipment, etc, it really seems like they want the money but none of that actual pesky rendering of services. Go anywhere but here. Their price is only 25 bucks lower than anyone else, and the awful service couldn't possibly be worth it even IF you get what you ordered.

Then, I needed to make a poster board/collage of pictures for her graduation open house. I returned to get a helium tank for balloons for that same open house. Lastly, I purchased a bunch of supplies to start scrapbooking. On each visit, I have been able to find exactly what I needed and the staff is always perky and helpful. Unfortunately, the helium tank that I purchased failed me on the day of my event, so I called the store to inquire about returning the tank. Wendy, who I believe is a manager, listened to my issue and told me that they would take it back and provide me with a refund. I appreciated her not giving me a hassle; the return of a defective helium tank could be viewed as someone trying to get over, but she took my word for it and the return process was quick and easy. I used the money to purchase more scrapbooking supplies! I'm sure I'll be back soon.

Yay!! The Salvation Army suggests you spend between 25-125 dollars per Angel. If going inside Walmart is not possible for you, no worries you can still give by visiting "The Salvation Army's Walmart Angel Tree" page and enter your zip code to find a registry near you. From there you can shop for the items online and have them delivered by Walmart Spark Good Registry to a local Salvation Army. Keep in mind not all Walmarts have actual Angel Trees inside. To locate a Walmart with an actual Angel Tree, visit the Salvation Army website. Remember the Angel Tree program does have a deadline and it varies by location. See ya there!!

Payless and Fresh Thyme are the much better options not only for easy shopping but supporting local growers who provide much better quality produce. Walmart continues to hold back decent pay to its staff, add to the insane food waste generated by ignoring proper expiring food discounts and discolored fruits and veg, until that changes I got to tell everyone avoid and shop anywhere else where there's some access like at Kroger to help reduce waste and make good use of good farmer products.
