I was a first timer and it just wasn't the atmosphere I expected. I was left with way to many hairs all over. I know they have a satisfaction policy where you can come back within so many days to get the ones they missed but I don't want to go back. I allotted that day and that time for the task and they fell short. They also sent me a text asking about my experience and why I wouldn't recommend. When I gave the reasons they just said ok thanks. This place is under new ownership and it shows! My previous service was amazing! Yesterday I went and it couldn't have gone worse! Brazilian, underarm and brows. She burned my underarms soooo badly, the pain is excruciating! Also the Brazilian! I kept saying to her that the wax was super hot and she just proceeded! And clearly she wasn't properly trained as she kept going over the same areas over and over again! I notified management and she acknowledged the burns and the swelling and redness!!! the only response was oh I'm sure that hurts but 'she's a nice person!'.....well the burning, swelling and redness under my arms (and other places) don't care that she's a nice person!!! And I PAID for the service!!!! No offer to refund or anything!!!! This was negligence!!!!! I will not go back....perhaps it should go back to original owners!!!! I started coming here in August '19 to prepare for a Jamaica trip. This was my first Brazilian Wax in my life...I was very nervous but excited at the same time. I didn't know what to expect as this was my 1st. My 1st lady was very nice and gentle. She talked me through the pain of her snatching the wax off. Of all days, I was all bushed out-lol. It took longer and more wax. But after it was all clean, it wasn't bad. I now return once a month to have a Brazilian and it's so worth it. And it's less painful. This little shop is awesome. They are located in the Kroger plaza; I'm not sure if they are new but it's a very relaxing and soothing environment. They don't require appointments and front desk staff are always friendly. Their prices are a bit cheaper than EWC. Eyebrows are only $10.00 and their Brazilians are $35 which is a deal. The technicians are very personable, extremely gentle and efficient - they always ask your preferences before starting the service and make sure you're satisfied. If you're thirsty during your visit, be sure to visit the beverage station with a plethora of choices including wines. This should really be a five star. I was pleased to find this place near where I was staying while in GA. I did a walk in appointment and wasn't disappointed! Friendly, clean, spot. There appeared to be about eight rooms. My tech was friendly. The service was performed on tummy and back. Everything was great, but I had a nice patch of hair left. No mirror was in my room. I was pleasantly surprised with my waxing experience at Rio Body Wax. My esthetician was focused on getting the job done and helped make my experience better. She tried to make the experience as painless as possible. The pricing was reasonable, especially as I compared to other spas or salons. My recommendation for improvement is mainly about "bedside" manner. I would have liked for her to talk me through their process and explain what types of waxes she would be using at the beginning of the appointment. While I asked plenty of questions to compensate, and she was informative with each answer, I preferred to have her offer an explanation prior to waxing. I haven't had a wax in over a year, but, really wanted to, again. I used to receive them regularly. I am from NJ and I have my own spa here and I can say I am pleased with them. This experience, however, was amazing. I made the appointment same day, about 6 hours prior. The woman at desk made me so comfy, plenty of smiles and warm and welcoming. Making an appointment took seconds. Later I returned and she greeted by name and Leteccia was all ready for me, despite her last client (I heard her say Leteccia's name) JUST checking out. I didn't have to wait at all and was 5 minutes early. I undressed and Leteccia started immediately. She was informative the entire time, moved swiftly, yet carefully and comfortably. I expected some pain with it being over a year and me shaving instead of waxing, but, it was as minimal as it could have been. For those more coarse hairs she used tweezers while she waited for the wax to harden (and told me of this was uncomfortable she could stop). I was well aware first time could leave some strays and was very appreciative she took the initiative to make sure she did her best. I could tell during the entire session, Leteccia is well trained and knows her waxing. When she was just about finished, she explained I may feel a little stubble (something I've always felt after waxing in the beginning stages) BUT despite her warning, I went home to one of the smoothest waxing I've ever received in about 6-7 years. (I have wild, coarse hair) I was visiting relatives and I am going to make sure when I return in the summer months that I am prepared for a wax here. Lina is super nice, EXTREMELY thorough, and she makes me feel comfortable. There's been a couple times that I was out of town and needed to get a wax real quick so i've used someone else... never again. Lina makes sure she gets every single hair & I also notice that I don't get ingrown hairs when she waxes me, compared to when someone else does. The prices here are really good as well.
