I tried this food truck while in town, it was a convenient place to get something vegan. They carry beyond sausage hot dogs. I can't remember the specific hotdog I got, but it had onions and peppers on top with mustard. It was pretty good. They're a bit pricey, but everything is pricy these days. I wouldn't mind going again and trying some of their other hot dogs.
Great food! Stopped here on a whim to satisfy the hot dog lovers on our trip. There was a bit of a wait to order and get our food, but everyone was satisfied with their meals. Loved that they had so many different options. They had a few picnic tables where you could sit and eat, or you could easily take the food to go.
There's no way I could pass up a place referencing roadside weiners. Being that it's parked next to a Shell, you can with one hundred percent certainty call this a "gas station glizzy". There's no real comparison of your regular ballpark frank to a gas station glizzy. Everyone attending cookouts around So for sure a regular basic hot dog is pricy. It really is. It's nearly the price of a specialty dog. Though an all beef dog with some ketchup and relish is damn good. Good grease, Good bun. And as you'll see what I wrote below, the glizzy is great. The specialty dogs though. Lulu's Crab Rangoon Dog versus the Flyin' Hawaiian. Wooooo. Crab Rangoon was the staff pick between the two. It's loaded. LOADED. I mean using two yards and the full sideways turn of the head to gobble this glizzy. Big bun, which appears to be better than the regular Sysco slop that appears everywhere. The dog itself has some has some thickness and flavor to it. Then the pork bellow. Loaded. Lots of big pieces. Good amounts of fat, good flavor. That cream cheese/sweet chili sauce, ON POINT. Topped with perfectly pickled cucumbers and red onion. Dude. It's great. It's like the topping to a wonderful salad. Don't forget the homemade crab rangoon. Wrapped well, crisped to perfection, and filled with the right...filling. This place is worth the stop. Excellent hotdog burps to follow. Gobble that gas station glizzy banger. I heard the fries are worth a try, but I didn't get a chance.

My fav was the chicago dog. I liked the contrast of spicy, sour, etc. Very tasty. The sonoran dog had a lot going on. Tasted good all together tho. I love chili, but I hate beans. Luckily, their chili doesn't have beans! Yay! I decided to try the chili fries due to this. Tasty, but very salty. They come on seasoned fries. This needed onions or something to cut into the salt. This was like a diamond in the rough! The food was amazing and the service was too! They have so many choices- you can get Italian sausage or all beef hotdogs and more- There are chairs and tables and an umbrella outside to sit- I will be back for sure if I have time while I'm here

Pretty Odd Wieners was such a solid find. A worker at Target recommended it and honestly it was so good for a random spot by a gas station. We got the 12 inch Philly cheesesteak and it was definitely enough for my boyfriend and I to share,super cheesy, flavorful, and loaded. We also got the Flying Hawaiian fries and those were honestly my favorite. The pork belly was really good and the tangy sauce with the green onions tied everything together perfectly. If you enjoy a good quality hot dog, you'll find it super hard to not stop by this roadside food truck while in South Lake Tahoe. They serve up some gosh darn delicious quality hot dogs. They have a variety of dogs... all beef, Italian sausage, spicy hot link, elk, bison, boar, and beyond brat (vegan). Look for the food truck in the parking lot with a Shell gas station on Highway 50. The dogs are served up plain or you can get them specialized as in a Chicago dog, Sonoran dog, chili cheese, etc. The dogs range $7.50-$15. Plus they got fries$5-13. Those too are served plain or specialized. My faves are the chili fries, Chicago dog, and New York style dog. The chili is no beans and the fries are double fried giving them an extra crispy layer of crust. I do have to tell them light on the onions and mustard because they give you a full bang for your buck and load it up. But Hubs likes it that way. I like to wash it all down with their homemade lemonade. It's the real deal, made with lemons, sugar, and water. The $6 lemonade is served up in a whomping 32 ounce container. Get this, they serve breakfast as well. You can get an egg, cheese, hash brown on an 8 inch Italian roll or bowl. $9.50. Add bacon, sausage or steak $2.50-$4.50 extra. read more

Pretty good wieners - satisfying plump hot dog with all the fixings - the Chicago dog was slathered with a healthy dose of onions, pickles, peppers and mustard. A quick bite from their food truck + a beer or cider from The Hangar and noshing inside the fun domed heat lamp, you're good to go. read more
Worth it If you are driving to Reno/Lake Tahoe, must try. I really enjoy how different and unique the hot dogs were created. Quality: 4.5/5 The two hot dog hands down must try is the elote and the rueben. It's very satisfying and use good ingredients to imitate a good Rueben sandwich and a elote bowl. THE WEINER : 3/5 The wiener is big in size but I feel like something is missing. The hotdog itself is missing some flavor. And when we ate it, the juicy ness of the hot dog was not there. Wow best hotdog I have ever had! Spent a weekend in Tahoe and came upon this food trunk down the street from our cabin. Tried something new. I'm a big fan of a classic hot dogs but this place dresses it up and I can't look at another hotdog the same! I got the cali dog, never knew spinach, tomatoes and cabbage on a hotdog would win me over, but it did. Not to mention garlic aioli instead of ketchup? Who knew! It was delicious. Loved it! Holy moley! We were driving by on the way out of town. Our boys had eaten lunch but we hadn't yet. We were going to wait till we got further on the road. I have a weak spot for hotdogs, and their trailer and name beckoned to me! I got the Seattle and Chicago dog, so many sounded amazing but would have been too hard to eat while driving. We also got the Garlic Parmesan fries, with garlic aioli. Okay first off, the fries came with 3 sondes of aioli for free without asking!!! You never get that! The food came out so fast, we were impressed. Not hot dogs were so so good. The Chicago dog was awesome, pretty classic and tasty. My only knock was it had a bit too much mustard. The Seattle dog was awesome the onion was tasty and the cream cheese was a great compliment. But the most important thing is not the toppings but the bun and dog, they were both so tasty. The hot dog had tons of flavor and the buns were so soft! I will for sure come back maybe try one of the more crazy ones next time! read more

We bumped into this place at The Hangar! It's a super yum find! We ordered the Sonoran which had the hot dog wrapped in bacon. Honestly, the bacon was a tad over cooked but the hot dog it's self was super juicy and the toppings were perfect! Can't wait to try more on the menu soon! read more
I haven't eaten out much in the last couple of months due to the pandemic. However, I went on a hike at echo lakes and by the end of my 8 miles I was feeling pretty hungry. I was fully prepared to hold off until I got home, but I was driving by the gas station and noticed a hot dog food truck.... I had to stop. And they were open! Hot dogs are honestly part of my food pyramid. All my friends know how much I love them. The truck looks really clean and the menu was massive! I narrowed my choices down to the Chicago dog, the Seattle dog or the cali dog. I couldn't decide, they all sounded so good. So I had an employee make the decision for me and he picked the Cali dog. Now let me tell you.... the Cali dog.... BOMB. It's wrapped in bacon and deep fried. Like cmon, how can there be anything better. It also comes with some greens, tomatoes and garlic aioli! Sooo good. My friend with me got the whizz fry dog and it was really good too. He was unsure of having the fries on the hot dog and the employee was nice enough to put them on the side without asking which was super nice. There's outdoor seating which was convenient. Delicious cheap eats! A must have in South Tahoe. Perfect for after you've hit the slopes and is close to starvation if you don't eat something like immediately. Friendly staff & excellent service. Had the spicy dog with the lulu crab Rangoon style. One word...FANTASTIC!! So crazy that it just might be tasty asf! I do wish that they bring back the animal style fries that they made there own version of a couple years ago! Better then in-n-out! Exotic wieners galore, many different styles and the staff is accommodating to any request. My favorite stop on our annual apple hill adventures! I love these wieners and recommend these to anyone that wants a wiener with great mouth feel! read more

We have driven by this food truck for months, picking up and returning our grandkids to Placerville before ever stopping. Two weeks ago we finally stopped. The first thing that struck me was the price. Ouch! $43 for lunch: a chili cheese dog, a Chicago dog, 1 full-size order of french fries, and 2 lemonades. The full-size fries were way too much for the 2 of us. The lemonades are 32 oz and the sugar is added to the cup and shaken, not stirred. :) My lemonade was fine but my husband's was overly sweet with at least 1/4 of an inch of sugar at the bottom of the cup. The hot dogs/buns were of quality but unfortunately lukewarm at best. One thing I noticed after ordering, for $5-6 you can make your sandwich a meal deal. Will save you $5 or so on one order. The young men working the truck were a bit overwhelmed with the number of customers. The boys were really sweet. There are picnic tables for you to enjoy your meal but don't pick a windy day. We kept chasing napkins. We will try again but not if there is a line. read more

This is by far the best hot dog, sausage truck I've ever eaten at. I had the elk, my wife had the pastrami and we were both completely satisfied with their dogs. The crew was so friendly, happy and courteous. Great job on such a good food. read more
