    Thank you Sinbad's

I got to try out Sinbad's for the first time. My grandsons baseball team was sponsored by Sinbad's and as an appreciation, the Team came to say thank you. I had the chili Frito (Frito pie). It did not disappoint. I got each grandkid a hotdog. They're HUGE so I ended up with 1 leftover. My husband had the slaw dog and said it was good. I didn't get pictures of the food. Each person working was very kind and had patience for the crowd of us. My 2 youngest had to use the restroom and they were so kind to let them. We will for sure be back!

We love Sinbad's Hot Dogs soooo much!!!! 10/10 phenomenal every single time. I haven't had one single bad item from the menu at all. One of my favorite things to get other than a cheese dog is a bowl of chili with extra cheese and light onion and one chopped up hot dog with fritos, and mustard. It is so comforting, cozy, and easily in my top three for favorite places with great chili and hot dogs. Each one has the perfect snap when you bite into it. They will forever be in my top five places to go for lunch. Kristine is so wonderful, incredibly kind, beyond hard-working and great to talk to. We always look forward to our visits and any new hot dog creations like the one that has pastrami. We love her staff as well, they're always so nice to talk to and they care about Sinbad's just as much as Kristine does. It is always so clean and organized even when it is super busy. This is an absolute MUST place to visit. You will not be disappointed. We love you so much Kristine and staff! We'll be back to see you all again very soon. Hugs!

Sinbad's Hot Dogs is a small hot dog establishment with limited days and hours (Tues through Fri, 10:30 am to 6:30 pm). They're friendly and serve up fantastic hot dogs. Yes, fantastic hot dogs... the kind that snap when you bite into them and the buns are so tender. Add fresh onions, tomatoes, ketchup, relish, yellow mustard and you have yourself a fantastic hot dog! They serve hot dog variations as well as sausages, different side dishes, and good old fashioned milkshakes. Ambiance is casual with a small number of tables in their dining area. Plenty of parking as they're located in a shopping center near McCarran Blvd and E. Lincoln Way (just North of the Sparks Marina Park).

Honest takeout review: Theirs a good reason they're as busy as they are... 5/5 Ever just wanted a true hotdog? One that doesn't try to be more than it is? One that's perfect from a chili cheese stand point and whether you ask for the real cheese or the fake cheese (my opinion) you can ask for both or just one kind? Yeah... they do it right. There's a reason why you've been the goats of hotdogs and will continue to be. Chicago dog: 5/5 Okay... let me start off by saying we're pretty far away from Chicago but when I think... celery salt, which is the secret ingredient to a good Chicago dog, yeah.... You can't go wrong. Ordered 2 thinking I'd be hungry but one was enough and man was it good! Savory, perfect mix of seasoning for the whole experience. And just the right time for waiting for your food. Even though there were only 3 ladies working the front, efficient, kind, and just overall good experience. Food wise, think of the last time you just wanted a traditional hotdog? Yeah, this bests that thought and expectation. Hotdogs are simple, so it's hard to do it wrong and many places do. Simbads though? Nope. Every time I've gone in they've hit the mark and I can't thank them enough for their continued perfection!

First the food was absolutely amazing. I got their chili cheese hot dog with their iconic potato chips on the side. The service was incredibly friendly and although I haven't eaten inside, from what I was told and shown, it's definitely unique in a good way. I most definitely will be returning again

Sargo, Dog, and Frito chili bowl with sliced hotdog chili cheese and onions

My wife had the Chicago dog and she loved it. I went for the Frito chili bowl with sliced up hotdog in it because I'm watching my carbs and didn't wanna have a bun.

Sinbad's has been around forever and despite what seems like a simple culinary affair it has never disappointed! There's a good selection of toppings and they are liberally applied. Be sure to not pass on the homemade mac salad. The dining room is charmingly decorated with themed relics from the past when a hot dog and a coke was 0.05. The owner, Kristine, is usually behind the counter and a delight to chat with before downing a quality dog.

I finally got to try this place, last month. For some reason, I thought I wrote the review already. I took my mom to visit my sister and decided we would bring some takeout home. We hadn't had hot dogs in awhile and Wienerschnitzel wasn't an option for me. Sinbad's was nearby and I have been wanting to try them for a very long time! Every time I drove by there, it was closed. Finally, I arrived when they were open! I purchased lunch for me, my mom, and our roommate. We were all very pleased! Good sized hot dogs and great toppings!

A real gem of Reno. In business for over 40 years, Sinbad's started out as "Casper's" in San Leandro before parting ways and starting a new as Sinbad's. Kristine, the current owner has been the steward of Sinbad's for the last 17 years. My wife had the classic "Chicago Dog", with all the trimmings. What makes the hot dogs special is the all-beef dog. No pork, chicken or fillers. Just a great beef hot dog. The Hot Dog was warm and moist and had that proper "snap" a hallmark of a good Hot Dog. I went for the Chili Cheese Dog, another perennial favorite. All "dogs" start with the same Hot Dog and just vary the toppings. In my case, the Hot Dog was served open face, covered with delicious, meaty chili (with beans), a healthy serving of beans and onions. Situated in a small shop in a strip mall off Mc Carran, Sinbad's would be easy to miss. The restaurant is colorful, vibrant and welcoming. There is a "hall of fame" wall, hosting all the regulars. Love this. The staff are all quality, more personal friends of Kristine than employees. Greeted with a smile. Served like family. Do not miss this hidden gem of Reno.

    Delish! Chili dog

Definitely divey, definitely delicious! All reports of a dog with "bite" are true. I would have liked my chili hot enough to melt the cheddar, but my chili dog was still delish to the last bite! Fun and varied wall decor in a tucked away spot of an older Sparks shopping center. Friendly and welcoming staff are icing on the chili. They knew names and orders of more than 50% of guests while I was enjoying my dog.

Service was so friendly and fast! Hot dogs were great! Lots of topping options and specials to choose from. Fast and easy meal for families or solo. So glad to see them around. Since 1979!

I love this restaurant. The hot dogs have that snap when you take a bite. We moved out of town but always come back when we visit.

I'm still going down a long list of burger places to compare. Beefy's is my 5th place to try…read more Local spot with character and plenty of seating inside and out with the combo of bar+bus+picnic tables. Lots of fans including mist fan outside to fight the heat. Bus feels spacious but seating is a bit cramped with tiny metal bench seats. Lots of other options other than burgers (hot dogs, chicken, etc) but come on, what's the name of the place? Service was fast, about 15 minutes to get our burgers but the place was near empty on a weekday mid afternoon after the typical lunch period. Insider tip I got: If the place is even 1/3rd full, be prepared for a long wait (minimum half hour?) I noticed quite a few reviews mentioned the prices were high. And when I got the bill for $60 for two people with tax and tip I might have agreed, at first, especially if my main repeat burger joints were In-n-out/Wendy's/Jack-n-Box. But comparing to those places is not apples-to-apples. It's 1/3 lbs patties here (70% more than the just below 1/4 lbs of meat you get on a Double Double) and quite a step up in meat quality from those chains. About $16+ for single patty burger and $20+ for double, but that also includes fries and a drink. I get the feeling people complaining about the prices have to be burger addicts with the review perspective of a frequent In-n-Out patron which allows getting your "fix" more frequently on the average budget. I would prefer if I could opt-out of the full meal deal for a lesser price and just get a burger. If you get a beer, the included soft drink is redundant or unnecessary. And some may prefer to focus on the protein without additional carbs/calories from the fries. But granted this isn't a place to be counting calories. Burger is high quality all around and they cooked them actually medium rare as ordered. Many places don't give a cook temp option or still overcook. Fries were great, better than the freezer burnt airy texture of In-n-Out. My only criticism is both the fries and the patty had too much salt but not to an inedible point. A common occurrence though given the cook's and/or typical frequent fast food eater's salt-desensitized palate. So Beefy's ties at #2 with The Parlor sitting between my #1 Royce and #3 Archie's, then #4 Juicy's. Armando & Sons and Barrio Burger are next.

For starters, the food is decent…read more With that said, if you advertise Happy Hour prices, they should be honored. I went specifically for the Happy Hour wings, and when I received the check, the price didn't reflect the amount stated on the menu. I asked to speak with the owner, and instead of correcting it, she told me she gave me a quarter off and, with a smug smile, said, "Thank you very much." Sorry, lady, but your food isn't that great for you to be so confidently rude. In addition, this was my second visit this week. I only returned because my sister loves chicken wings, and because of the advertised "Happy Hour" price, I decided to give them another try. We also ordered a plain burger to go with just cheese, and when I got home, it was loaded with all the fixings, including sauce. I called several times to have the issue addressed, but no one answered. When I told the servers about the situation during this visit, instead of trying to make it right, they gave me a half-hearted apology. So yes, the food might be diner decent, but the owner's attitude and the poor service make the entire experience worse. I've worked in customer service for over 30 years, and not once have I treated a paying customer the way I was just treated. And if they want to respond to this review to justify their shitty service, great. Go for it. I was polite the entire time. All I asked was to be heard, for their advertised pricing to be honored, and for some basic appreciation for my business by simply making things right. Instead, the owner insultingly put two quarters on the table, as if 50 cents somehow made up for the $8-$9 difference we were being overcharged. It didn't. If anything, it made an already frustrating situation feel even more dismissive. And it really was an easy fix. If they couldn't adjust the Happy Hour pricing for whatever reason, she could have easily taken the $18 pastrami sandwich off the bill to make up for both the pricing discrepancy and the incorrect order we received during our previous visit just two days earlier. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I was asking for an owner to recognize that her restaurant had made mistakes on two separate visits and make a genuine effort to correct them. In a city full of burger options, she had an opportunity to turn a negative experience into a positive one and potentially make lasting customers out of my family and me. Instead, she chose to be dismissive, smug, and rude over something that could have been resolved in a matter of minutes. That tells me everything I need to know about how she values her customers.
