This is probably the best burger joint I've had in Tahoe! They are quick, super kind, and the size of the portions is actually worth the price! The burger was bigger than my hand, I could only finish half and had to finish the other half another day! The fries are good, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside! They are definitely a shareable, because the portion is huge too! The garlic fries are good, but were a little on the drier side, it would be better if they chopped the garlic, added some olive oil, and seasonings to it, then mixed it in with the fries. The fries were pretty plain with garlic on top. I got my order to-go which they made super easy and convenient, but I should've checked before I left. My husband and I were in Lake Tahoe with our friends for the weekend, one of whom has had a part time cabin up there since he was a child. Due to this he has a lot of nostalgic places he likes to go to and Burger Lounge was one of them. He really wanted us to try their shakes. It is a very cute and casual burger joint that is easy to pass by. Their outdoor patio was adorable, and I love that it is dog friendly. Their menu was much larger than I anticipated, and I actually had trouble deciding what to order. I opted for the burger with avocado and split a side of Cajun fries with my husband. Both were pretty yummy and I only ate about half my burger because it was huge. I also decided to try the M&M shake and it was decent, but definitely not the best shake I've ever had. This place has been a long time favorite for my wife and myself. The staff is friendly and the place is nicely decorated inside. The selection of burgers it very good. My biggest complaint is that the burger patties on both of our burgers was way overcooked. Mind you, my wife likes her burger well done. No pink in the middle at all. Me? I like it medium. When my wife complains it was overcooked, it was beyond well done. Please pay attention when cooking the meat. Quality matters. It is the most noticeable part of a burger in my opinion. Overall, the experience being here wasn't bad. We stopped in after an 8 mile hike up the mountain before heading back home. I paid $77 for 3 burger meals. I understand the idea of tourism but it's still pretty pricey. Portion sizes are really good though so I didn't feel like I was totally being overcharged. All burgers are served at medium temperature (they don't ask how you want your burger cooked) so if you don't prefer pink, ask when ordering. The patties didn't taste seasoned either. We sat outside the weather was lovely. However we had 2 furry friends visit us toward the end of our meal hoping to steal a few French fries. The mice are pretty bold so it appears they are fed pretty well here. Since we didn't eat inside, I can't say whether a rodent problem is indoors or not . Also, there is a picnic area that has a nice shady area provided by the Redwood trees. The restrooms are outside behind the restaurant. No key is needed. We felt it lacked some sauce like BBQ Sauce. The patties were a bit dry. Cherry Shake (3.5/5) - My wife didn't care for it. I thought it was decent. Our friends who had been here before, they ordered and split... Ground Lounge: 1/2 lb. beef burger served on a hot grilled sesame seed bun with mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onions (3/5). Drove up to Tahoe for the day. On my way back home, I spotted the Burger Lounge. The burgers here are cooked the way they are meant to be cooked! They do an excellent job with flame-grilled burgers. I ordered the Camino burger and a plain burger patty for my dog. In total $25.00. It's Tahoe and CA ; don't be surprised. Their burgers are worth the price. There's seating inside and there's also a ton of outdoor seating. The staff calls out your name when your order is ready and you show your receipt. At least there's that kind of system and they are plenty busy. The food was underwhelming, especially the fries. The cheese was not melted at all and the chili was not good. It seemed like they just threw the ingredients on top of the fries separately and called it a day. The burger meat was kind of tough and not enough seasoning and flavor. We were camping locally in Tahoe, and anyone familiar with the area wildlife will attest to have heard a particular bird, the black capped chickadee, sing "cheese burger". LOL. We heard this for days in the woods, and it finally stirred a craving that had to be satisfied...! We headed straight for the Burger Lounge on highway 89 aka Emerald Bay Road and were treated to a wonderful meal! It's a very popular place and has a nice patio area with umbrellas shading the tables and then a very large area out back for overflow seating under the shade of the tall Jeffrey pine trees. The lady who took our order was very pleasant and the food was made to order and cooked in short order. My wife enjoyed her "Heavenly burger" named after a local ski resort and I enjoyed my Cheese Deluxe burger with added sautéed onions and bacon and we both shared an order of beer batter dipped onion rings with ranch for dipping. Totally hit the spot and scratched the itch! After finishing that amazingness, we opted for a couple of chocolate shakes to sip as we drove back to our campsite. This was our first time at Burger Lounge and it was GREAT! Location is ideal. It is on the side of the road. It is very easy to find. There is parking on site with a fair amount of spots. There are a variety of burger options, including vegan and vegetarian burgers. I bought the "sweetness burger" that came with a veggie patty and a grilled slice of pineapple on a wheat bread (I believe it was wheat). My husband bought the "Shroomalicious" burger. I really liked my burger, though I wish it had had some sort of protein in it. My husband said his burger was fine but he wishes the meat had had more flavor. We also bought cajun fries and they were very delicious. The fries were on the crunchier side (not soggy) with just the right amount of salt and cajun spice. I also bought a mango milkshake and it was SUPER DELICIOUS. It is a small place so there are not that many tables. However, there are a few tables outside. Although this place is on the side of the road, there is a nice little wall or separation made out of plants. It is beautiful. I am definitely coming back to this spot. My sister & I were driving around the lake last Sat 6/28 around 12pm when I started craving a Rootbeer Freeze. I found this place on Yelp, and it looked like it had potential. You walk up to the window, order, then the lady would YELL out your name on a LOUD speaker when your order's ready. I got a Rootbeer Freeze $5.95 but it really didn't taste much like rootbeer, more like ice cream. My sister got a Pepsi freeze $5.95, which she enjoyed. We shared an order of Fried Mushrooms $8.75, which were HOT crispy, and delicious. We also got an order of Pesto Fries $7.85 unfortunately the fries were not crispy at all, but tasted good with the Garlicky Pesto on top. We had to pay .85 each for Ranch Dressing & Creamy Pesto to dip our mushrooms & soggy fries in. They have a small inside eating area, but we chose to eat outside at one of the long picnic tables.
