I am actually working to treat an abused feral dog with clinical separation anxiety that has been rehomed numerous times. Following the proper treatment plan for separation anxiety, you cannot leave your animal without a companion during a 10 week desensitization training program. Most animal professionals who run dog daycare know that. Maybe she should read Patricia McConnell's book on Separation Anxiety.
