The stuff here is also expensive and many things can be past the expiration it seems. Best thing that can be said is at least there's an option for this stuff around here. It's a ways from a lot of other health food stores. That doesn't mean the products should be old and browning though. Produce certainly isn't worth it. Way overpriced. Has a bin full of frozen foods. These are all mixed up and who knows how long these have been in there. Have to say maybe it's best a place to get a few snacks and not look to get ingredients for a meal. It's way cheaper at most places even at Whole Foods it seems. They have pretty limited selection, but there's bulk items such as grains, and plenty of things for vegans and vegetarians.

The aisles are a bit narrow, so be mindful when walking through. There was R&B music playing and it made my shopping experience a bit more relaxing. The aloe I was looking for was right in front of the store, which it made things quick and easy to grab and go. I paid under $5 dollars for my aloe leaf and was able to use a card. There are signs laying out their guidelines for keeping 6 feet apart while in the store (admittedly very challenging because the aisles are rather cramped) but they do limit how many people are inside at once. I definitely felt uneasy as I had to almost press up against people to pass them in the aisles but everyone I encountered was masked. Come here for your sea moss or ginger candy needs. The first time I tried Red Jacket, I tried Fuji Apple and was sadly unimpressed. It was a little too dry for my tastes and simply tasted to me like extremely fresh apple juice, which in itself is a great thing in a world of overly processed juices. Then, today as I was taking a stroll through Union Sq. Greenmarket, I stopped by the stand and tried the Black Currant Apple juice. To describe this juice as good or great would be an insult for this amazing mix of tart, sweet and signature apple is beyond comparison. I have never had Black Currant Apple juice but I doubt any could compare to Red Jacket's. It definitely sent my juice-neurons skipping through my body. Now I only wish I had gotten the bigger size!

They also do juice for those of you who don't like it particularly cold and refreshing as smoothies tend to be. The price is just right and less than most any actual restaurant that you'd go to in the area for the same exact thing (no shade to one of my other favorite businesses in the area). Definitely stop by this cart early in the morning or later in the midday and have a drink in Zucotti park.
