Closed 12 minutes early, full counter force behind the deli. Customers are not welcome in and they wouldn't even come to the door.

I am standing outside on a Monday, no explanation, full staff behind the counters and it is 3:48pm and they are locked up tight. I don't care how good a place might be if they can't honor their hours or put up a sign to justify closing shop early, I will never return. I will rate this deli zero out of 5 for the ridiculous lack of service. They need to adjust the business hours as 4pm is not being followed- maybe call it 3:30pm Monday to Sunday. Waste of my time.

Prima has amazing sandwiches. The bread is so good and there are a lot of great options. It's a little bit slow, especially during the lunch hour, but if you have time to wait it's worth it. There are a few tables inside but I prefer ordering to go.

Get the Italian. Great sandwich, less expensive than the comp and consistently delicious.

The cocktails were superb; they had the right amount of alcohol without tasting bitter. I didn't think I would like the Penicillin drink because the liquor was whiskey, but it tasted perfect and fruity, and so did the spritz. I also enjoyed a light lager. We ordered two of the mini burgers from the happy hour menu; the meat wasn't as moist as I'd like it to be, but the mustard really tied it together. I have to say the fries were absolutely delicious, the potato flavor wasn't overly greasy or salty like most placed make their french fries. Service was paced well, we didn't feel rushed and were able to relax. I will definitely be returning for happy hour!!

The best thing we had all night was the mussels appetizer. The red sauce was genuinely phenomenal and the toasted bread with it was perfect. That dish alone gave me high hopes. Unfortunately, almost everything after that missed the mark. The branzino was deconstructed tableside, which was a nice touch, but the fish itself was thin, underwhelming, and still had bones throughout it. Then when we asked for more of the bread from the mussel dish, we got this giant puffed pita-style bread instead, which totally confused us. The salad barely resembled a salad. There were maybe a handful of arugula leaves with scattered toppings, and it just didn't feel balanced or thought out. Then dessert came out cold, stale, and to make matters worse, there was literally a bug in the sauce. The wine was good and the service team itself was friendly, but the meal felt like one strange disappointment after another. Maybe this place shines more with traditional Italian dishes, but based on this experience I don't think I'd come back.

YMMV Both our entrees were things we ordered before. Good, formulaic. Nothing special. One of the things I noticed was every entree STILL had scalloped potatoes as a side (no substitutions). They've had those for years. Time to try something new, chef. But the truly weird part came when the table next to us was ordering. The waiter described totally different specials. I had visited once before and also remembered ordering take-out from them a few years ago. I wasn't super impressed by them back then, but was open to seeing if I would have an improved opinion of them. Roma ITALIAN CUISINE is a casual dining spot that serves authentic dishes at Menlo Park's main drag, Santa Cruz Avenue. They offer both indoor, comfy quarters and sidewalk seating options equipped with heat lamps. Their warm, neighbourhood vibe with white-tablecloth comfort provides a relaxed atmosphere ideal for unwinding. Mom called Roma shortly after 7:30 PM to see if they had a table for five available for us. No problem, so we headed straight to the restaurant and arrived around 7:45 PM. We were quickly seated and served iced water. Unfortunately, we had to return 1.5 rounds of the water because the glasses were dirty. Mom asked our waitress/server #1 for sliced lemon for our water to which she was told that the kitchen ran out of lemons. Interestingly, our waiter/server#2 brought out the requested slices. This was the waitress' strike #1. Roma's cuisine is more traditional than trendy, serving an array of classic Northern Italian inspired dishes. In addition to the warm, soft complimentary bread, below are what we had for dinner: GNOCCHI ($27) + grilled chicken ($11) - The green pesto looked richly tasty and the potato dumplings looked plump and pillowy. V was a fan of his dish. SQUID INK PESCATORE ($38) - Both Mom and Z ordered this PASTA, but Z requested to substitute the clams with more of the other seafoods. Initially, we were told by the waitress/server #1 that there would be an extra charge for subbing the clams, but our waiter/server #2 ensured that where was no such surcharge. Strike #2 for waitress #1. Initial misinformation aside, Z and Mom were happy with their orders. LASAGNA ($30) - Substantial in size. Chaz finished every bite with enjoyment. POLLO MARSALA ($32) - Very good. I was pleasantly surprised to finally enjoy a dish at Roma. Service kicked off with major disappointment due to our waitress'/server#1's falsifications. Mom was extremely displeased by her which was completely understandable. Thankfully, our waiter/server #2 was much more helpful and friendly. He saved our dinner experience...and my opinion of Roma did, indeed, improve.
