Great service and cheap happy hour drinks can't make up for cold mediocre food. Was in town for a convention and had heard so much about Primanti Bros so I decided to give it a go. We came during Happy Hour and our sever was super friendly. However, once the food started coming out it was very apparent that's where the quality stopped. My sandwich was cold, including the fries and it lacked any strong flavors. The meat was very dry. It seemed thrown together and left out to sit for 10 minutes before I got it. I did like the vibe in the bar area which is why it's a shame the food does not match up to the other positives of this place. It's a one, and done.

My first time at Primanti. Definitely worth the visit. The bar area felt old school. Our waitress was awesome. 3 of us had the Pitts-Burger. I ate the entire sandwich while 2 others split theirs. I should've taken half home.

I got the Reuben($13) with the fries on the side. The sandwich had a good amount of meat and the slaw and horseradish mayo paired very well with the sandwich. For a Pittsburgh Chain, the food is quite good. Staff was average. Overall a good experience at this Monroeville Primanti Brother location. This place was on point. It was close to the apt. The food was good and service e was amazing even though the server said she was training. Lots of room even though we just walked in. We were able to sit at a booth pretty quickly. The place was quiet and relaxing. We tried to wait for the second Happy Hour but was decided to have a drink anyways.

Came in around 10pm, quick and kind service. Wings and sandwiches didn't disappoint and i think this is the most fries i've gotten at ANY Primanti's location. Got a pizza to go as well, that cook made this with LOVE. Tionna was really kind and attentive and i hope you get her as your waitress :) Pool table and slot machines too and a calm vibe.

I was staying in Monroeville and I was out getting gas. I put 'Primantis" in the phone and this location was 2 miles away. Lunchtime is here. I order a Yeungling tall and grab a seat at the bar. Only a few people in the place. Bartender Christina serves the beer and asks if I want a food menu. Sure...this time it's the kielbasa sandwich without the tomato. I have never been to this location but it still has the Pittsburgh artifacts of pictures, jerseys, other assorted Steeler/Pirate/Penguin items. After a bit I get my food and order another beer. Service is very good and order is accurate. Very tasty, cooked to perfection. I recommend this location as there is parking and it's bigger inside so you can bring your friends or lady. The original location now has competition....definitely will visit again.

A solid place for food and drinks. I was told to try Primanti Bros on my next trip to PA and I am glad I did. The Pitts-Burger is a classic! The service is great and the setup is good. Prices are very reasonable. I will be back and bring friends!

2.5 Stars. Half as many as it used to be. Shame, apparently it's hard to staff these days. Hard to find a manager, take out is unorganized. Food quality is sub par. I've seen the restaurant cleaner. It's sad, used to be a regular spot. There are other options nearby to settle for inconstant service and food quality. Hopefully things turn around for the better sooner than later.

Cabbage in a sandwich doesn't sound good but sure was GOOD! I was here during happy hour and had the Neville drink. The drinks are half off. It was good as well. The sandwiches are so big u don't need am appetizer.

Anytime I am in the Pittsburgh area, a "must go" for me is Primanti Bros. The atmosphere is very much a sports bar with multiple televisions playing whichever games are on that day. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the menu offers a large selection of food and beverage items. They are known for their sandwiches piled high with meat with fries and slaw served right on it. I ordered the Reuben and was not disappointed. The portions are generous and as much as I wanted to finish the whole sandwich, I was full after eating half. I will definitely be returning!

I enjoyed my experience at this location. My server was kind and friendly. I wanted boneless wings and asked for a sauce recommendation. I went with the sweet heat, the sauce that was recommended and was satisfied. I am not a huge fan of blue cheese but enjoyed of over the ranch. Both taste like they are made in house. I was not a fan of the pizza. It was bland and lacked in flavor. It some sort of combination of garlic, crushed red pepper flakes, oregano, and Italian seasoning on top. I'm glad I only order one slice. The drink was okay. I asked for salt on the top and there wasn't much salt to help cut the sweetness of the drink as I would have preferred. I'd definitely go back again for those boneless wings.

But I can tell you your breakfast was very traditional. Nothing super exotic or trendy. I'm a Southern girl so I was looking forward to getting country fried steak, gravy and eggs... They're country fried steak is a special that's named after the owner or one of its friends or something... And all it is is steak and gravy... Kind of interesting for a breakfast dish. No eggs. And was one of the most expensive meals so adding eggs would have really put it over the top for breakfast. So I elected to go with a variation of hash browns that I'm accustomed to getting the south from waffle House... Scattered, diced which means tomatoes, and covered which means slice of cheese. Although they restrict the ability to buy beer and wine in grocery stores in Pennsylvania, there is no restriction on when you can get a alcoholic beverage like there is in the south... Bloody Mary with breakfast at 9:00 a.m.. there was a long line to wait for a table so my friend who's the local went to the other entrance for the package store and saw there was ample room at the bar so that's where we went. We split an omelette and got some bacon on the side. The bacon was clearly oven baked and extremely crispy and is barely flavorful. The waitress was nice and attentive at the bar. And she had the southern charm of calling us honey and sweetie even though she was younger than us. My friend says she used to come by there often when her kids were younger or for their weekly specials. It's a large restaurant so plenty of tables in the traditional space. And I guess because of not having extra weight stuff they didn't encourage sitting in the bar... We sat at the bar so had the direct attention of the bartender. You can see from the menu there's lots of options for food which is probably why it's such a popular place.

Circling the small parking lot looking for your spot, reminiscing on the alumni sports team photos on the walls, and doing the twist in the entryway to navigate your way to your takeout, Gateway Grill is not much... but the food is usually fire!!! The pizza slices have big bubbling crusts with pepperoni so rustic cut that you will wonder if they accidentally gave you the whole piece... over and over again. Don't sleep on their meatball pizza. Because you will have basically full size meatballs for every slice... and they are delightful. We had family in and bought a large order - and we opted to try their sandwiches. The Chuck Roast sandwich and Turkey Rachel both sounded delicious... and Gateway Grill does have fresh smoked meats too! Takeout is a trip. In a full restaurant, you have to kinda stand in the way at the front counter and flag down someone to grab your order. But they definitely do a lot of to-go pizzas so you'll be able to handle it. Unfortunately, with their current to-go containers, the sandwiches ended up being sopping wet with condensation... the bottom toasted bread on both was basically dripping instead of crunchy. The fries had lost all texture too- air fryer to the rescue. I'd still recommend going - just stick to only pizza when ordering takeout until they find a way to ensure quality of other options.

Bocce. Not the most popular sport, but honestly a nice lackadaisical, recreational sport that accommodates all types of people. The carpet is smooth and rolls well with excellent foot paths and seating areas. The extras make the experience feel very professional with lane timers, measuring tapes, ball racks, and score keeping methods. Even down to the rules laid out including my favorite.. "No swearing in English" The bar area is also top notch! Self serve beer taps and wine taps (these are the coolest). Just tap your card and they have siphons that pull your wine right from the bottle.. and chilled glass coolers to enhance your experience. A dock for a food truck to pull right up to! They served us multiple pizza types (pepperoni, white, margherita, and pesto chicken), wings (honey barbecue and original), and french fries. They more than accommodated our group with ample refills of the food and a plethora of to-go containers at the ready to ensure that we took everything home! I grabbed an Orange Crush from the bar and it was refreshing with a strong amount of alcohol. The bartenders are used to their Italian crowd, so they aren't messing around. The ribs have always been excellent. My son and I went into the uncrowded restaurant, sat at the bar, ordered two beers and told the bartender we wanted a takeout order. We watched her take care of several other customers. I told her I would be OK with going into the restaurant to place my order, but she said no she would be right back. meanwhile, the bartender was new, and there was a female manager behind the bar, with her. A little while later, the manager came over to us, and asked how could she help us? I ordered the food , and while finishing my beer, a bleach, blonde waitress from the restaurant side came in with a order of pizza. Bartender instructed her that it was for the restaurant customers. The waitress looked at the bartender and said for her to deliver it to the customers, because they were unhappy. During this time, the bartender also had to leave the bar to attend to drinks in the restaurant. I finally got my takeout order, I was walking out of the restaurant, and there were multiple waitresses and waiter in the restaurant area standing around and looking like they were doing nothing. The bartender was left to care for everything by herself. As I had said previously, I've always loved DeeJays ribs, from Wexford. When I finally arrived home, the ribs were quite dry, with hardly any barbecue sauce. I was very disappointed. Someone needs to needs to go to Bridgeville and Wexford to observe how the restaurant is generally run perfectly. I will not recommend this new location.

He said he'd be right back to wipe it down for us. We waited and waited. Over five minutes later he returned. Problem was the booth he was seating us at wouldn't seat seven adults. I had to ask for a bigger table. I even pointed to a table that sat eight and asked if we could have that one. He had to go ask someone. We finally got the table. By then everyone else had arrived. The server took our drink order. The drinks seemed to take forever to arrive. We were all ready to order by the time they finally got there. The meals took a while, too, though that wasn't as annoying because it would hopefully mean the food was being cooked to order. Then four of the meals came out. Three of us just sat there waiting for our food and watching the others eat. We stole some fries while we waited from the people who had their meals. Finally, the rest of us got our meals. Sadly, none of the food was hot. My onion rings were really greasy, which meant they weren't served when ready. They'd sat around for a while. My sliders weren't hot, either and were dry and tasteless. They were supposed to come with grilled onions but didn't. The ketchup (which we had to grab from a different table since our table didn't have one) helped a little. One person had a cheeseburger. She only ate half of it. She said she felt nauseous. Another didn't eat his mac n cheese. He said the sauce was really thick. He could hardly swallow it. The teenager at the other end of the table left half of his chicken tenders. He didn't want to take them home. I don't know why because he was at the other end of the table and it was rather noisy in there. I had to yell to talk to him. All in all, it was a disappointing dinner. Almost $150 for food that was mostly left on the plates. We won't be going back.
