Another very good visit to Drew's for my family. Of course, we had to go with the tried and true Chicken Parm, and a whole bunch of french onion soups. One of my favorite things about this place is that you can get a cup of french onion soup, as one of your sides, instead of having to purchase a full bowl. I also tried the chicken marsala this time, and it was pretty good. They cut the chicken up in pieces, which was new for me, but it was still good. Lots of sauce and mushrooms! I was pleased with it, and they let me get a side of pasta with the marsala sauce on it. We had great service, as well. My family and I will definitely return! read more

Came here on a weekday for a business lunch with co-workers... The lady working the dining room was very friendly, helpful and attentive. They have an interesting menu here loaded with all the popular stuff you'd see at most local delis, including pizza. They have daily specials and soup of the day as well. On my visit, the soup was French onion and it was great! The Italian sub was really good too! Nicely sliced meats and the bread was heated up just right. Their cole slaw is also perfectly done, exactly how I like it! Me not being from around here, I'm not used to these restaurants (mostly in neighborhoods) that are lounges as well and have huge rooms... they just seem very odd to me, but from a restaurant perspective, they have what's needed - Very Good Eats! read more

I think that Drew Menas is a step above an Eat-N-Park. They have a lot of faithful followers that enjoy the food and visit the lounge weekly. The parking lot is always full as if this place is soooo darn good. It's the alcohol that packs them in. Our first visit was many years ago and hardly remember it. If you enjoy family comfort food on a scale of Kings or the like, this restaurant is a place for you. I am sure they have a specialty but I have not found it. The food was eatable but nothing special at all. The service was friendly and prompt in taking order, bringing beverage and food. I have been there many times and the food was always good, not today. There were two of us and we ordered a Reuben sandwich and fries. The sandwiches arrived with potato chips and fries on the side. The sandwich was no where near a Ruben. It was a soggy piece of Rye bread, not marble rye. There was no sauerkraut ( about three pieces) and no Swiss cheese. I told our waitress and she offered to fix it and I said no as there really was no way to fix it. That sandwich was the absolute worst Ruben sandwich I have ever been served in my 70 years on the planet. This was one of my least favorite meals of all time. We ordered three appetizers: homemade chips, onion rings and potato skins. The only salvageable dish was the onion rings...the five we were given were pretty standard and at least edible. The potato skins were laughably awful; smothered by a large pile of tomatoes, and closer to mashed potatoes covered in nacho cheese than real potato skins. In Drew's defense, it did say cheese sauce (or something equally questionable) on the menu. Woof. I had the french onion soup, which I believe is a daily soup. For this concoction, I want you to imagine three dozen croutons stuffed in a bowl and doused in a teaspoon of broth. It wasn't a bad tasting broth, but two separate people at my table thought it was lobster bisque because of its thickness. My burger made a McDonald's single patty look like a 2lb burger. It was rail thin, overpowered by bun, and bland. The veggies seemed fresh enough, so maybe you can just eat those instead of the actual burger. In case this horse hasn't been beaten enough, I will also point out that the service was trash. A member of my party tried to order a beer, and I guess the waitress had other plans. She said they didn't have a beer menu and then walked away, never to return. We were one of two tables, it wasn't like listing off the few beers on tap would have required a major effort. The Turkey sandwich with cheese was just plain gross, it was basically a sandwich with a quart of Queso poured over it and microwaved. I've been eating at Drew's on and off for the last five years and have always had a great meal. Everything is fresh and cooked to perfection. Whether you're in the mood for a burger, a sandwich, a wrap, a salad, or a full supper, you can't go wrong at Drew's. On my most recent visit, a Friday, we each had the "fish on a plate". The batter-fried cod was was a revelation. Crispy, not greasy, and quite a substantial meal. When I saw the piece of fish overhanging the plate, I thought I'd never be able to eat the whole thing. Wrong! I think they make their own tartar and cocktail sauces. I also love their salads, the dressing is always fresh. The French onion soup is tops. I've ordered just about everything on this menu and am always quite pleased with the quality of the meal, the freshness of the food, and the expertise of the cooks. This is a neighborhood joint the likes of which one would find in New Orleans or any other great culinary town. The staff is friendly and helpful (if slightly overworked). And, while it doesn't look like much more than a local highway pull-off, it shines where it counts - the food. read more

Haven't been here for a while. Will not go back. The special was stuffed pork chops. The pork chop was the smallest I've ever seen and barely any stuffing. The Italian hoagie was gross. I could make a better one at home. All they did was throw some meats and cheese on a bun and bake it. It wasn't even baked good. When I picked it up it fell open and half the meat came out. I ordered fries with beef gravy on the side. The gravy was good but I think I got the last of the fries in the bag. None were more than and inch and a half long. We were so disappointed!! read more

our comment was just deleted before we could post it. recently drew mena's management began imposing a hidden 3.5% charge to penalize unsuspecting loyal parton's whom choose to pay with plastic. nearly 40 year's in business & now this most tacky approach to increase a parton's tab. of course the management also expects their loyal parton's to tip his hired server's 15-20% or more . this is another win win for said management. by refusing to pay his hired help a living wage , the loyal patron is expected to make up that $$$ difference because the owner doesn't pay living wages. in today's sad economy , dining out is less attractive & has become cost prohibitive. adding a tacky 3.5% penalty fee on plastic paying parton's does encourage said parton's to consider : 'hey , sheetz 2 for $ 1.00 hot dogs , no tip payment , no tacky service charge for paying with plastic (even on this $1.00 purchase) & free toppings ? hey , drew mena's, you're forcing your loyal parton's to choose the latter (sheetz, speedway, & get go ) to feed a hungry family. read more

I have seen a couple of bad reviews, I have gone here for lunch and really never had been disappointed. It's not a 4 star restaurant, however, if you want a good lunch I recommend it. I have had the chili, the fish sandwich, the bacon cheeseburger before and i have never been disappointed . I wouldn't say it's overwhelmingly great but I have not had a bad experience. If they ask about the fresh cut fries or frozen, do the frozen. They do not know how to correctly cook the fresh cut. Once they were to greasy, the other time they were cook ok. Drew Menas on Route 30. We have been going to the wonderful restaurant for years. The food is wonderful and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It is not prepared re-warmed food. It is made when it is ordered, but be prepared, it takes a bit longer to receive your ordered food. The menu acknowledges this and makes you aware of the fact. The portions are quite ample and we always end up taking at least 1/2 of whatever is ordered home. The chicken parm is wonderful. You can tell time is taken to first prepare the chicken cutlet: cut, tenderized, breaded and fried to perfection.The The chicken Ramono... mmmmwa! So good! Reuben sandwhiches are a favorite. The homemade corned beef is fabulous! The same care in preparation. The hot roast beef sandwhich...not for the small appetite. It's belly filling and oh so good. They do catering as well. Average food, extremely slow service. It took two hours for lunch on Sunday and it wasn't very busy. They even have a sign on the bathroom wall basically saying that they're slow but, "we hope you think it's worth the wait." It also says they'll let you know if they're overwhelmed. They didn't. They just acted like it was normal to be that slow. There appeared to be only one server working and maybe there was only one cook. Understandable but a heads up would have been appreciated. We all ordered fresh cut fries they came out dark brown and wrinkly looks like they haven't changed their grease in a month. One of my biggest pet peeves is smelling cigarette smoke while I'm eating and this was the main problem for me here. There are "separate" smoking and non-smoking areas but the place is so poorly ventilated that the smoke smell chokes you, even on the non-smoking side. Food was decent, I got an Italian hoagie and my husband got the chicken parm. Portions were huge, which was a plus, especially for the prices. With an added side of fries, our total bill was only $25. I would like to try other items on the menu but gagging on cigarette smoke will likely keep me away. read more

This place is terrible. Over priced, can't substitute chips for fries, charge you full price for fries (which is $5 if I may add). The smallest drink cups I have ever had and are filled to the tip with ice. Came for the "homemade" food. Ordered the stuffed cabbage and it was ok. The mashed potatoes are very obviously instant. Had the stuffed cabbage actually came to the table hot instead of refrigerator-cold inside then maybe I would have given them two stars. The 10-15 mins I had to wait for the waitress to come back so that I could ask to have my food warmed was not ok. Maybe the other restaurants I have been in set the bar too high? The waitress who waited on us only had one other table. I've seen better service from waitress who handle 5-7 at a time. I'm all about supporting a local business... Ate dinner there Sunday. Special was lasagna. I inquired the server about it. She said it's Stouffers. I can buy a whole family pack of that for their price of 9.95! So I decided on the chicken cordon bleu. Was very dry and made with lunch meat ham. The mashed potatoes were instant. My friend got the stuffed sole which was obviously stuffed with fake crabmeat. And my daughter got a gyro, which again had some kind of processed meat. She couldn't even stand to eat it. So much for homemade food!! Noise and smoke from the bar was very disturbing, lots of profanities. Smallest drink glasses, ridiculously small. Our server was very nice. We wondered why she even works there. Drew's is a great little restaurant and lounge. It is a locally owned establishment that has been in the neighborhood for many years. The food is good, never had a bad experience. It is defiantly not upscale, fine dining...but the food tastes good, and comes with a clean, causal dining experience.
