The only one they did have was covering as a sitter. Therefore, I never saw my nurse. My knee was completely numb and I was not able to get out bed. When I had to go to the bathroom I was placed on a pure wick. However, the nurse forgot to turn it on and when I urinated it went all over the bed. Most of the nurses acted like it was an inconvenience whenever I needed help or had a question about continuing my cardiac medication for my irregular heart rhythm. It was also impossible to get the equipment needed for home. The social worker wanted to send me home without a walker after a total knee replacement? I also had to wait for the referral for physical therapy and home health. Nothing was set up prior to my going home. I had to take care of it myself. This hospital has a lot to learn about patient care and the quality they provide. I worked in a hospital for 20 years in Southern California. This is by far the worst service and I am shocked. So many safety issues and disregard for patient care.

They really went above and beyond to try to figure out what was going on running every test, scan or lab possible. I didn't feel dismissed at all, I left feeling waaaay better than I was before. With the proper discharge instructions and referrals I know I will have a positive recovery on the way. Thank you to, Simrit Sodhi, MD she was extremely reassuring and looking out for my best interest. She referred me to one of the best that could help me. I also appreciate David Jones, PA & Brad Auwinger DO, for taking my medical issues seriously and making sure nothing went unnoticed. Thank you to my attending provider John Zhong and Michael Bunuan, DO , Henry M Andoh, MD, Wilson A Chavez, MD, Daniel Ichel, MD for their help as well! Thank you to Garrick J Biddle, MD and Vicky B, CRT for performing my spinal injection smoothly with a mix of good laughs and education. I was extremely nervous but I couldn't feel a thing. Resident Physician, Connor Graham, great man full of jokes that I almost forgot I was at the hospital. All my RN's were fantastic: Sarah X, Ralph T, Thien N, Mitchell M, Stephanie C, Alex A, Karen H, Cecelia C, Rebecca P, Chloe M, Kinikia H, thank you for taking care of me. Physical Therapist, Marie Eustaquio and Galina Uskova, CNA, Guadalupe W, CNA all had such warming spirits. Thank you Anika, Student Nurse for wheeling me to my car and making sure I made it out safely. To the man who tried to assist me with getting my dimple jewelry out for MRI I appreciate you for trying lol now the lady you brought to try to help who had an attitude. I understand her reasoning she's witnessed patients biting someone's finger but she could have respectfully declined instead of bringing her attitude our way. We still had a good laugh and convo afterwards so that's all that matters. For those whose names I couldn't find in my care notes & wheeled me around or had to struggle with my veins for blood draws I appreciate you all as well. I had to get a lot of labs done and I loved the fact that they doubled check the amount of blood needed before taking it. Little attention to detail like that doesn't go unnoticed. They made calls to confirm, took priority samples first and split everything up so I wasn't left weak. Everyone I came across during my two day stay at the hospital was truly amazing, except Mrs. Attitude, thank you for providing me some relief and getting me back home to my family.

This did not occur with my first kid that I had at Kaiser! The original anesthesiologist was an older woman. She seems frustrated and couldn't get her hands still. She got upset after I told her the needle wasn't placed right. At this point she kept asking where do you feel it and get jamming it in more. This almost caused me to pass out. She was very rude and not helpful. I knew she messed up at that very moment. When she entered the room she didn't have any bedside manner. I expect anesthesiologist who is giving an epidural to be cordial... Now 6 months later after having my baby.. I'm constantly in pain and having severe neck and shoulder pain. I'm just being told to get another blood patch. Staff needs to be better trained. Another woman was in the ER with me for the same reason. So this is definitely a Sutter issue.

I've been a UC Davis Medical Group patient for two years and have always been pleased with my…read moreexperiences. I felt rather let down during my recent trip to the emergency room. Parking is relatively easy to find in their parking garage or lot. Don't forget to have the front desk validate your parking ticket before you leave. I walked in at roughly 2 AM with excruciating abdominal and flank pain. I thought I might be having an appendicitis or another kidney stone (I had one several years ago). I waited in the lobby for roughly two and a half hours before being seen. The lobby was hell on earth an inundated with frequent flyers, addicts, and homeless patients. Security took care of one situation promptly and did absolutely nothing about several other bothersome situations. I was given Toradol and Zofran. They were relatively worthless and counterproductive as they caused horrific gas which resulted in worsening stomach pain. I finally had CT scans after being there for approximately seven hours and was discharged after being there for 10 hours. I left still in pain and wish I would've stayed home. They didn't do anything to address my severely elevated blood pressure from being in pain nor my pain. I completely understand and respect there's an opioid crisis and that people unfortunately waste valuable emergency medical health services in efforts to seek pain medication, but I've been a chronic pain patient for 10 years and have never gone to the emergency room ever seeking pain medication. I just wanted to be treated with common courtesy and human kindness and made to feel a little more comfortable. I think they failed to achieve those reasonable goals. I was also very bothered and disappointed they routinely spoke with family and patients and gave confidential health updates in the waiting room in front of other patients. It seems like there were numerous HIPAA violations and utter disregard for patient privacy. I would consider going elsewhere if I need emergency health services in the future as I left very dejected, disappointed, and utterly exhausted. It was a very frustrating ordeal.

Monday at work my left arm went numb from fingertips to shoulder. I thought I slept on it wrong. But it was numb all weekend too. Went to ER. They said possible blockage in my heart. Said I might need a stent, balloons, and blood thinners for a year. I told them thank you, I know God gave you knowledge to help. But I prayed: GOD BLOCK all that in Jesus name! They went through one of my main arteries to take pictures of my heart. Before the procedure they asked what music I want. I said PUT ON THE CLARK SISTERS! And we had CHUUUUCH! They gave me the happy medicine, I was sedated but still singing, still hearing, still worshipping! One of the doctors said we might need to put the Clark Sisters on during these procedures to get good results and BLOCK bad reports! I DIED lol But for real -- worship BLOCKS bad reports! While waiting for results, the enemy tried to bring fear and doom. I reminded him who is in CONTROL. I already prayed the prayer of faith and lifted it up like the 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread -- and we saw the MIRACLE! RESULTS: Doctor said your arteries are GREAT and NO BLOCKAGES!!! Hallelujah! AND I AM BEING RELEASED TODAY!!! IT IS WELL!!! YOU CAN'T STEAL MY JOY, DANCE, OR PRAISE DEVIL. THAT'S ALL YOU GOT!!! MY GOD IS THE GREAT I AM!!! I have to SHOUT out ALL the hospital staff that HELPED in every area -- from meals, to housekeeping, to nurses, to doctors -- EVERYBODY had hearts of servants! Not one frown! It was like they were taking care of a child of the KING, literally! I'm not just saying it, it was like they were wearing GOD'S HEART! IYKYK! Thank you to every one of you! Initially we were told that he was transferred back to Kaiser. While at Mercy San Juan my brother was in the care of an amazing human and care provider JEFFREY FONG, RN. Thank God for our nurses especially those who provide care and communicate with the loved ones who are struggling to help and do what is best. Jeff Fong was a godsend for our family, as he not only provided excellent care for my brother but was happy to talk with us about the issues we were facing as a family. More likely to get surgeon or other help during night and weekend. I believe she's correct. From the moment I blacked out during IV insertion until discharge, I was helped by people who know their field and are damn good at it. Being neurodivergent, the ER and hospital environment is mega-overload. I always disclosed my ND and all of my doctors and surgeons were patient and driven to see my health improve. Some of the people who left a very positive impression = Dr. Leslie Tamura. Advocate, calm, intelligent, a solid rock of the best hospitalist I'll probably ever meet. She made me feel safe, heard and assured I would be in good hands. Rutu, charging nurse for her acceptance, support and humor. Lilian and Marlon for being accepting, caring and relating. Renz and Billy, amazing nurses I could trust. Ken was a cheerful and lighthearted tech assistant. And social worker Ashly, a soul filled with the best energy a patient could ever wish to have. She's in the right field! If you find yourself in the Russell tower (older wing), penthouse floor #5, be aware the rooms can get hot on the southern side but getting a sliver of a view of the helicopter pad (had to get up to see) does give the brain something to masticate and reminds you that others are out there helping others (soul warming). Oh, and that hospital air filtration is impeccable. I also liked the garden on the "second" floor. It is peaceful. And the food, it is decent. I loved the grilled zucchini and white rice. The packaged lemon juice was tasty. I never want to see any of the staff or doctors again unless we cross paths at the store or at a really great party. But, if I ever must go to the hospital again, I will hope to see them or I hope that their cohorts ought to be as awesome as them. Note: cell, text, internet reception in basement/ER is nearly non-existent (not limited to T-Mobile). Their Wi-Fi may as well not exist. Send text messages with the time sent. If it eventually goes through, the other person will know the age of your message. Floors above ER should have significantly better reception. Bring your phone charged and with your wall charger including plug, not just cable. Bring flip flops, dry shampoo, fresh chonies, your preferred ear plugs, comfortable lounging clothes, and hand lotion if you like those things and may be admitted. Note: when you hear a faint nursery chime it means a baby was just born in the hospital. *warm fuzzies*

The anesthesia doctors seemed great although from the moment I was put out I have no clue what went on. Evidently the surgeon and I had a conversation about what music to listen to during my surgery, he said we picked hip hop? Dont remember! My recovery has been swift. Only five days later and my wife and I went to breakfast. Im looking at only missing two weeks! Thanks to everyone who assisted in my surgery and recovery. I also want to mention. Austin Stoker who was nice and he was a familiar face at a time I was pretty nervous. Thank you Dr. Hallare and staff.

Just me sitting here while Kaiser pretends my time isn't worth anything. And let me make something VERY clear: I pay GOOD money for this care. I'm not a Medi‑Cal patient where the system drags its feet because they think it doesn't matter. I pay full premiums. I pay copays. I pay into this system every month. They take you picture and print out a sticker ID. It was really busy and my daughter was in a back room. The staff checked in often which was nice. The quality of care seem good and they made sure to check everything out on my daughter.

I had driven a 5 hour drive that day and my leg was just not feeling right when I arrived home. Better safe than sorry. This review is about the high points and low points of that visit. Every single one of the medical professionals with whom I came into contact were phenomenal. I am talking the doctors, nurses, u/s technician. The time arriving and departing was appropriate given it is an Emergency Department and I was not in any urgent medical state at that point. I interacted with two registration personnel during my time there. One when I entered the ER and the other at some point during my stay regarding further insurance information. These two employees were the most unprofessional people one could never hope to come into contact with during an emergency visit under any circumstance. It was like they selected the least customer savvy employees they could possibly find to put in critical positions. I was truly agast! Rude, barely able to put a grammatically correct sentence together and not an ounce of compassion nor kindness for the types of patients they were serving. I watched them as I waited demean patient after patient in utter shock. Now... there is no way Mercy Emergency Department management is unaware of these , pathetic, unskilled employees wreaking havoc on sick and, in some cases, frightened patients. There is no world where this would be acceptable behavior. I am certainly glad I am not a Dignity Health plan member. My Health Care Provider would never hire employees like these. What were they thinking? I have read Mercy's responses to some of these Yelp reviews. Embarrassing in my opinion. Better to not respond at all than write pathetic, patronizing dribble. Do better Dignity Health.
