I had a massage with Sarah and I have to say that the experience was top notch from the moment I walked in.

This is my honest review of my experience. I had made an…read moreappointment for cortisone injections on cystic acne I was having. When I got to the office, Dr. Park and another woman in a mask greeted me with "hi, who are you?" It was offputting because shouldn't they have at least an idea of who I might be since I had an appointment? I told them my name and what I was there for and they asked me to have a seat and wait. A third tall woman came out and said, "Hi, are you here for botox?" Again, a strange way of greeting me. I repeated that I was there for the cortisone injections. The tall woman leads me to a room and begins to touch my face to inspect my acne. She doesn't introduce herself, so I have no idea what her name is or what kind of provider she is. She tells me a little bit about the cortisone injections then says that Dr. Park will be in shortly. She leaves the hot ring light on, shining on my face. Dr. Park comes in with another Dr. shadowing her. She talks to me about the cortisone shots and gives me information about the possible risks associated. She asked me questions about what might be causing the acne flare and used a camera to show me what my skin is looking like. She went through my skincare routine with me and gave me recommendations about which products I should put a pause on using because my skin barrier is not good because I was using too many harsh actives. She gave me a lot of good information. She then recommended that I should get a Diamond Veil facial. Honestly it felt like such an upsell because she was using buzz words like "state of the art", "straight from Korea", "medical grade". I specifically chose this medspa because she is a medical doctor but it didn't feel like she was. As she prepares to do the injections she tells me that there are multiple sites that could benefit from the cortisone. I told her that I was really only there for one of the pimples but she could feel free to inject wherever she thinks it would help. At the time, the booking website stated that the cost was $100 per 10 ccs. She injected 6 sites then put pimple patches over them. When I went to pay, she told me that the cost was $100 per injection site, and that my total was $600. I was very surprised and showed her on their website that it says the cost was $100 per 10 ccs. There was a very awkward pause, and she said that was a mistake, that 10 ccs would not even be possible to inject because that amount is too much. She repeated that the cost is $100 per injection. She waited, expecting me to pay the $600. We went back and forth a couple times and finally she said, okay, it is a mistake on their part and I paid the $100. She made me feel awful. I get that she just lost $500 but that was not my fault. I understand that it was a misprint, but I had also said during the treatment that I was only there for one site and I allowed her to inject multiple sites because of what I believed the cost to be. I would have only done the one site if I knew what the actual cost was. If I had not stood up to her, I would've had to pay $600 due to their mistake. Afterwards I checked their website and the cost was immediately changed. Overall it was not a good experience. I hate to write a bad review but clients are given a discount for writing a Yelp review so I thought it was important to write an honest review that is not incentivized.

Most skin care places are closed on Sundays but Royal Skin Care was opened and I decided to give it a try after reading seeing their convenient hours and all the stellar Yelp reviews. From the very start, it was a great experience, I was easily able to book online and learn more about the different treatments they offer. I decided to go with the Basic Needs 50min facial - "This customized treatment begins with a deep cleanse, followed by manual or enzymatic exfoliation to resurface the skin and then light extractions. Custom vitamin masks based on your skin needs. Finish with red LED therapy to boost elasticity, collagen production, and product absorption." My esthetician was Valerie and she was wonderful. It was such a relaxing and comfortable experience. She was even able to remove a stubborn blackhead I've had for a while. After the 50 minutes, my skin was visibly more hydrated and smoother. The establishment is clean and it's located inside a small shopping center so parking wasn't a struggle (and it's free). One of my goals for this new year is to take better care of my skin and I'm so happy to have found a place that will help me accomplish that. Will definitely be returning!

Booking was very easy through their website, and I was able to get an appointment the next day. The location is in a strip mall with easy parking, which made it convenient to get to. The space itself is simple but nice -- no frills, but clean and comfortable. My esthetician, Rada, was kind and explained the process well. The facial included the steps that were described in the service, so everything felt straightforward and professional. That said, I didn't find the overall experience to be especially relaxing or pampering. I had assumed a shoulder and arm massage might be included, but that is actually an add-on that I didn't realize needed to be booked separately. The gua sha/facial massage was the main reason I chose this facial, and for me the pressure felt a bit too light to be very effective. Others who prefer a gentler touch might enjoy it more. Overall, this feels like a good place if you're looking for a quick skincare refresh. While it wasn't quite the spa-like experience I expected, it was convenient and the service itself was delivered as described. Complete side note that doesn't affect my rating: consider playing different music that is more in line with a skin care spa/clinic. That may help the overall experience.

After reading reviews I decided to go with Cindy, and she was AMAZING! Super friendly, professional, and informative. Instead of just showing her a photo and saying "DO THAT," she spent 15-20 minutes analyzing my lips with me and discussed the way the muscles effect the shape. Based on what I ultimately wanted (more volume but still "natural" looking), she was able to pinpoint the perfect areas to inject. She also noticed the way my lips pulled in when I talked due to a muscle in my upper lip so she gave me a little lip flip botox (for a very reasonable price) and I LOVE it. There wasn't any pressure to add it on, but she said it's something I may want to consider for the future, and I considered very fast lol. They're still settling after a week, but so far I'm in love and Cindy will definitely be my new injector since I totally trust her judgement!

I wanted to cancel and reschedule this facial. Daughter convinced me to go, and so I did. A lot has changed since my last facial with SDEA. The changes are for the better. SDEA has grown and expanded their services (do please check their website), and improved/updated its space(s). I had serious doubts about the new aesthetician, Nevie (Knee-vee), simply because I'm unfamiliar with her, and I still don't like facials. Calm, soft spoken and professional, I was cautiously optimistic as she escorted me to the treatment area; below are my findings: Pros: 1. If it doesn't smell/look clean and organized - RUN! This place?! CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN private, single room that smells nice, with soothing music softly playing in the background. The bed covers are neatly turned back, a 1 size fits all terry wrap is provided for your use, and the pillow has a headband laid out to keep contain the client's hair. Hooks behind the door are conveniently provided for your use, no need to put belongings on the floor, or folded on a chair. I placed my footwear beneath the bed to prevent tripping. Nevie's tray holding the products to be used is neat and organized. Those details matter and are what I look for. The cabinet holding the linens gave me serious retail vibes-- very orderly and organized, the way they're folded screams "PROFESSIONAL"! I'd have serious doubts if the bed was sloppily made, linens /cloths, etc. folded differently, half-a$$€d, and or haphazardly presented; this is a very clean, very organized, effective and efficiently inviting space. 2. After inquiring re: my pressure and area preferences (for the massages) and explaining the disrobing process, Nevie gave me time & privacy to prepare and climb under the covers. The fancy bed electronically raises your knees -- no need for a pillow beneath to relieve back pain. The linens are soft, and the room temperature is perfect: not too hot/cold. 3. Dim lighting, relaxing, soft music, muted sounds, NO loud noises/conversations can be heard. Nevie softly explained everything she was going to do, so I simply closed my eyes. I wasn't surprised/startled, and best of all, no inane, frivolous conversation. I was able to relax and just be in the moment. Her soft voice and light touch lulled me into a twilight state of sleep. Awake enough to hear/respond when needed, Nevie had me "snoring lightly"; although I didn't claim any skin sensitivities prior to the start of my session, unfortunately, the pumpkin product was VERY spicy on my skin, and Nevie immediately and thoroughly removed it, cleansed and replaced it with an extremely soothing cucumber product. The products (save for the pumpkin) felt so good on my skin. The Gua shua facial using tingly, cool facial massaging tools, the scalp and hand/forearm massages were exactly what I needed. The warm hand mitts/treatment were a delightful surprise. Even now as I review this, I'm still so very relaxed, and will definitely sleep well tonight. Poor hubby is going to have to use ear plugs, because I know I'll be sawing logs tonight. 4. Complimentary Fiji water after my facial to stay hydrated?! Why, yes please and - thank you! Cons: 1. Nevie is so good, the 1hr session flew by in a flash. 2. After my session, I was so relaxed, I could barely stand much less have a coherent thought. 3. No place for the client to nap; I had to go home to do that. Conclusion: For someone who really doesn't like facials, I had an outstandingly amazing experience that far exceeded my previously positive and enjoyable experience. I hope Nevie stays with SDEA for a long while to come, because she is just the bees' knees and the cat's meow. I am so thankful for my birthday facial, and to Nevie for this much needed pampering.
